HIGH INFLUENCE OF WATER AND ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ON RESPONSE, BEHAVIOUR AND GROWTH BATAK FISH FRY (Neolissochilus thienemanni)
Batak fish (Neolissochilus thienemanni) is an endemic species that has important ecological, economic, and cultural values for the local people of North Sumatra. However, the population of this fish has experienced a drastic decline due to environmental factors such as water quality, climate change, and pressure from human activities, such as overfishing and water pollution. One of the important aspects in Batak fish cultivation is environmental conditions, especially water height or water depth factors. Water height plays a big role in determining the quality of fish habitats, including water temperature, dissolved oxygen levels. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of water height variations on the response, behavior and growth of Batak fish in the aquaculture environment. The study was conducted with an experimental design using a Complete Random Design (CRD) consisting of three water height treatments: 15 cm, 20 cm, and 25 cm. Observations were made every 10 days to measure the weight, length of fish, and water quality. The results showed that the water height had a significant influence on the growth of the weight and length of Batak fish. Treatment with a water height of 25 cm indicates optimal growth, while treatment with a water height of 15 cm and 20 cm indicates lower growth. The results of the study obtained where the P3 treatment (25 cm) provided the average value of the growth rate of both weight and absolute length of the highest per treatment. In other words, the average P3 is different from P1 and P2. The water level of different cultivation media affects the total water volume and movement space for Batak fish in the same cultivation container on the aquatic environmental conditions and behavior of Batak fish.Batak fish (Neolissochilus thienemanni) is an endemic species that has important ecological, economic, and cultural values for the local people of North Sumatra.

THE EFFECT OF PERIODIC FATIGUING ON SEED GROWTH AND SURVIVAL JURUNG FISH (Tor soro)
Perlakuan P1 memberikan hasil bobot mutlak sebesar 2.16 ± 0.23c, panjang mutlak 1.60 ± 0.00c dan kelangsungan hidup hingga 93.33 % yang merupakan perlakuan tertinggi dari perlakuan yang dilakukanJurung fish is one of the endemic freshwater fish in the Central Tapanuli river which is often called Batak fish (Neolossochilus thienemanni). Periodic fasting can increase the growth rate of fish to the same level or even higher when compared to fish that are not fasted. This research aims to determine the repetition of the feeding cycle followed by constant feeding on feed consumption and feed performance, as well as determine the level of feed requirements for Jurung (Tor soro) fry after a period of 2-3 days. The information obtained includes absolute weight, absolute length and viability (SR) as well as water quality. This research was carried out at the Production Laboratory of the Matauli College of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs in July-September 2024. Feeding is given at 08.00-08.10, 12.00-12.10, and 16.00-16.10. The fish are kept at a stocking density of 15 fish. The results showed that the feeding approach had a large influence (P<0.05) on absolute length and absolute weight, but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on survival. Treatment P1 gave absolute weight results of 2.16 ± 0.23c, absolute length of 1.60 ± 0.00c and survival of up to 93.33% which was the highest of the treatments carried ou
Analysis of the application of MSC ecolabelling in tuna product processing industry in Sibolga City
The need for fishery products that are healthy, safe, legal, and sustainable to increase. This makes the export destination country require a certificate issued by an institution. One of the standards used by such countries is the MSC ecolabel. MSC ecolabel is an endorsement of a product that meets the criteria of environmental sustainability procedures. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct an assessment related to the application of MSC ecolabels in the Sibolga tuna processing industry. The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of gap analysis and the suitability of the application of the MSC ecolabel and examine various inhibiting factors. This research was conducted using survey methods and FGD with industry and the government. The analysis used was qualitative descriptive analysis, gap analysis, and conformity level analysis. The research results show that the level of conformity in MSC CoC (
Chain of Custody) for its principles is highly non-compliant with the standard (0%), while for its criteria, it is almost compliant with the standard (71.32%). Meanwhile, the conformity level in MSC fisheries indicates a very low level of compliance with the standard (39%). Policy recommendations provided include the formulation of a harvest strategy for tuna in WPP 572, strengthening and implementing measurable fisheries, and formulating a Fisheries Improvement Project (FIP) policy

LACUBLACUBA Lamp Innovation to Enhance Gill Net Fisheries in Central TapanuliA Lamp Innovation to Enhance Gill Net Fisheries in Central Tapanuli
Most of the Central Tapanuli Regency area is on the coast, which is part of the Indian Ocean waters and has great potential in the fishing industry, especially marine fisheries. One of the fishing gears widely used by fishermen in Central Tapanuli is the gill net. Although the amount of marine fisheries resources in Central Tapanuli is quite abundant, the catch of salam net fishermen often fluctuates, so fishing aids are needed to increase catches, one of the efforts made is using LACUBA. This research was conducted from February to April 2024 in Sibolga Bay, Central Tapanuli. This study used a completely randomised design (CRD), with the first 30 metres of gill net treatment with LACUBA and the remaining 30 metres without LACUBA treatment with a total net length of 60 metres. The results showed that the catch of gill nets using LACUBA influenced the catch, the total catch was 16,845 grams, without LACUBA 8,290 grams for 14 times. Gill nets with LACUBA can increase catches compared to without LACUBA, due to the addition of attractants to the net, so that fish including positive phototaxis will be caught in the net, besides that fish that are looking for prey are also caught because they want to prey on their food in the gill net area. Most of the Central Tapanuli Regency area is on the coast, which is part of the Indian Ocean waters and has great potential in the fishing industry, especially marine fisheries. The Determining Success of Polyculture Caulerpa sp and Litopenaeus vannamei using AHP Analysis
The Polyculture Caulerpa sp and Litopenaeus vannamei can reduce the risk of ecological impacts, increase shrimp growth, survival, production, increase shrimp resistance to disease, and maintain optimal water quality. Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) begins by determining the priority between water quality, growth rate, and harvest yields as more optimal parameters for the success of a polyculture. The measure of success is determined based on the results of expert assessments of polyculture and cultivation that produce more optimal water quality (temperature, pH, brightness, salinity, and dissolved oxygen), growth rates, and harvest yields. The results of the overall AHP analysis, which determined the success of Caulerpa sp and Litopenaeus vannamei polyculture based on expert assessments, showed a good level of consistency. The results show that water quality is a priority parameter in the success of Caulerpa sp and Litopenaeus vannamei polyculture with a weight of 0.597, followed by a growth rate of 0.297 and a harvest yield of 0.106. The analysis of priority water quality indicators for the success of polyculture is dissolved oxygen with a weight of 0.514, followed by pH of 0.246, salinity of 0.119, temperature of 0.079, and brightness of 0.042. Based on the results of experts of the combined weight comparison, polyculture is more optimal than cultivation, with a considerable comparison weight of 0.678 and 0.322, measuring the success of Caulerpa sp and Litopenaeus vannamei polyculture
