Economic analysis of DC power sources used in impressed current cathodic protection of underground pipelines
Objective: The objective of this study is to calculate and analyze the economicparameters of three main DC power sources i.e. Thermoelectric Generator,Transformer Rectifier, and solar photovoltaic (PV) Solar System, which arewidely used in impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) of undergroundpipelines. Methodology/Analysis : Initial or capital cost, operation andmaintenance costs of the afore-mentioned DC sources are computed, fora practical ICCP system of high transmission underground pipeline over aperiod. Present worth analysis technique of economic analysis with inflationadjustment using a spreadsheet is adopted to compute these values. Theanalysis period of 20 years is used for present worth calculations of these DCsources. Findings: The cost efficiency of DC power sources for an ICCP systemhave been discussed in very few research papers. The calculations are made foreither only one DC source at a time or the comparison is based on calculationwithout inflation adjustment. This study, in line with the currently adoptedmethodologies, provides a far easier and more comprehensive comparisonand analysis of the most economical DC source for the ICCP system ofunderground metallic pipelines. Novelty/ Improvement: DC power sourcesplay a pivotal role in an ICCP system that helps to mitigate the rate of corrosionin underground pipelines. This study contributes towards choosing the cost-effective DC Power source for an ICCP system of underground pipelines. Theresults are drawn using practical data. This subsequently helps in mitigatingthe rate of corrosion in these pipelines
PERAN SULTAN JALALUDDIN MUHAMMAD AKBAR DALAM PENGEMBANGAN LITERATUR INDIA DI KESULTANAN MUGHAL
The objective of this research was to know (1) the life of Sultan Jalaluddin
Muhammad Akbar, (2) roles of Sultan Jalaluddin Muhammad Akbar in the
development of Indian literature in the Mughal Empire and (3) the literature
development impacts the world of science in the Mughal empire. This research is
more focused on the role played by Sultan Jalaluddin Muhammad Akbar. This
research was conducted by the method of historical research with the type research
was the study of literature and as well as qualitative research. The approach used
was a sociological approach, the concept of social role. The collecting data
techniques used was documentation. The analysis of data was done in this research
was Historical analysis technique that consists of four stages, namely: heuristic,
verification, interpretation, and historiography. Based on this research, it was able
to be elaborated that: (1) Sultan Jalaluddin Muhammad Akbar was a descendant of
two great rulers of Central Asia and beyond, that Tamerlane (Ethnic Turk) and
Chengis Khan (Mongol), which were known to both the ruling tolerant religion.
Therefore, the position of Sultan Jalaluddin Muhammad Akbar was marking the
union of two great family spirit of the Central Asia. (2) The role of Sultan Jalaluddin
Muhammad Akbar in the development of Indian literature in the Mughal sultanate
can be known by his policies. The policies are: translating Indian literature into
Persian, promoting literature writing, and protecting the development of regional
literature. The most prominent development of Indian literature during the time of
Sultan Jalaluddin Muhammad Akbar is the development of Persian literature, the
field of historical writing, and local languages, mainly Sanskrit and Hindi. (3) The
existence of literature development conducted by Sultan Jalaluddin Muhammad
Akbar, both directly and indirectly impacts the world of science in the Mughal
empire. These impacts are: (a) high book production (b) developing science; (c)
advanced education; (d) advanced libraries; (e) the appearance of the poet; (f) the

New fossils of Gaindatherium (Rhinocerotidae, Mammalia) from the Middle Miocene of Pakistan
New isolated teeth with maxillary and mandibular fragments from the Chinji Formation of the Lower Siwaliks are described and determined as Gaindatherium browni and Gaindatherium vidali. This material comes from the Middle Miocene of Lava and Dhok Bun Ameer Khatoon localities, northern Pakistan, and significantly increases the number of remains previously known for this rhinocerotid genus. Specimens from the Lava site determined as G. vidali present morphological differences with respect to those of G. browni, being similar to those of G. vidali from the Nagri Formation, showing a greater size. Previously, G. vidali was reported only from the Nagri Formation of the Middle Siwaliks and the new material thus significantly widens the chronological distribution of this species in the continental deposits of the Siwaliks. Walking the Talk? A Corporate Governance Perspective on Corporate Social Responsibility Decoupling
Information asymmetry and the pressure to conform to stakeholders’ expectations cause firms to engage in corporate social responsibility (CSR) decoupling – a practice that has severe socioeconomic consequences for firms. Adopting a corporate governance perspective, this paper answers a novel question: whether board gender diversity (BGD) curbs CSR decoupling. Using a battery of sophisticated analyses and robustness tests on 9276 firm-year observations for the period 2002–2017, our results confirm that BGD is negatively associated with CSR decoupling. Analysis of the composition of gender-diverse boards further reveals that this effect is stronger for balanced boards than for skewed and tilted boards. Furthermore, we note that independent female directors are more effective monitors of decoupling than executive female directors. We also document that the relationship between BGD and CSR decoupling is stronger when the overall governance is weak. This implies that gender-diverse boards could act as a substitute mechanism for corporate governance that would otherwise be weak. Estimation Spatial Distribution of Sodium Adsorption Ratio (SAR) and Residual Sodium Carbonate (RSC) in Groundwater of Tando Muhammad Khan Pakistan
This study was conducted to evaluate factors regulating groundwater quality in an area with agriculture as main use. Water samples for determining the water quality were collected in one liter polyethylene bags by observing standard sample collection method. It was ensured that sample collection sites must be at least 500 feet away from each other.Sodium Adsorption Ratio (SAR) and Residual Sodium Carbonate (RSC) were determined from the collected water and it was observed that in Tando Muhammad Khan taluka, the Sodium Adsorption Ratio (SAR) in the samples ranged from 11.06 to 53.29, the highest (53.29) SAR was in UC Tando Saindad, while lowest (11.06) in the sample collected from UC-2 of Tando Muhammad Khan. The Residual Sodium Carbonate (RSC) in 36 collected groundwater samples ranged from 0.61 to 5.15 meq/l, the highest (5.15 meq/l) was in UC Tando Saindad, while lowest (0.61) in the sample collected from UC-3 of Tando Muhammad Khan.It was concluded that the SAR levels of groundwater samples indicated an alarming situation and most of the ground-water samples had SAR
