Moschovakis Extension of Represented Spaces
Given a represented space (in the sense of TTE theory), an appropriate
representation is constructed for the Moschovakis extension of its carrier
(with paying attention to the cases of effective topological spaces and
effective metric spaces). Some results are presented about TTE computability in
the represented space obtained in this way. For single-valued functions, we
prove, roughly speaking, the computability of any function which is absolutely
prime computable in some computable functions. A similar result holds for
multi-valued functions, but with an analog of absolute prime computability. The
formulation of this result makes use of the notion of computability in
iterative combinatory spaces - a notion studied by the author in other

The intention of this thesis is to analyse the play Storm Still by the Austrian author Peter Handke and its staging by Dimiter Gotscheff in the debut performance at the Salzburg Festival 2011, a coproduction with the Thalia Theater Hamburg and the Burgtheater Vienna. The analysis focuses on the question of how the play copes with history. Based on Peter Handke’s personal history, the play is about an important but neglected chapter of Carinthia’s Slovene minority. Storm Still allows a reflection on theatre as a place of collective commemoration and incorporates modern as well as archaic elements of theatre. This thesis analyses the polyphonic character of the play, the epic-dramatic narrative structure as well as the special construction of the protagonist »I« as a subjective envoy, as an autobiographical witness, a receiving collective and as Angelus Novus. In addition, the thesis analyses the play‘s characteristics of commemoration on the basis of Christian Eucharistic elements and on elements that characterise the play as a monument. Also, it analyses the different modalities of remembrance the play presents. It describes as well the ubiquitous failures, breaks and gaps that deconstruct history in text and staging. On the basis of these elements, Storm Still turns the theatre into a place of collective commemoration and at the same time raises the question whether the theater can be a place where the public can come to terms with history or whether the stage remains a place of art and interpretation

Influence of Teaching Target Language Culture on ESL Student Motivation
Second language research demonstrates a strong correlation between student motivation to learn a second language and student attitudes towards native speakers of the target language and the target language culture (Gardner, 2006). To date, we have limited knowledge about how teaching about the target language culture, or lack thereof, in the second language classroom affects student attitudes and motivation to learn. This study draws from second language motivation research grounded in self-determination theory (Noels, Pelletier, Clément, & Vallerand, 2000; Pae, 2008; Ryan & Deci, 2000) and the ideal L2 self (Csizer & Dörnyei, 2005; Ryan, 2009; Taguchi, Magid, & Papi, 2009). This study is intended to deepen understanding of student motivation in second language learning, specifically in the formal classroom context. There are three areas of focus in this study: (1) student attitudes towards native speakers of the target language and the target language culture, (2) teacher support for students’ autonomous regulation, and (3) target language culturally supportive classrooms. The outcome variables in the study are persistence in second language learning as measured by student self-reports on indicators such as effort and intended effort, and gain scores from a speaking and listening assessment given to all students enrolled in the college English-as-a-second language program. Using confirmatory structural equation modeling to test the models proposed in the study, significant, direct relationships were confirmed among the variables with the exception of the variable of target language culturally supportive classrooms. This work was embargoed by the author and will not be available until August 2015
Globalization and Higher Education
The subjects of this article are the processes of globalization in higher education. On the basis of the experience of leading countries and the current situation, it suggests some solutions for the adaptation of the Bulgarian education system to the new global challenges. The author stresses on the mechanisms of increasing the quality and effectiveness of Bulgarian higher education. Solutions are searched in the deregulation and the expansion of academic autonomy, pluralism and financial self-sufficiency, introduction of new methods of management. The article supports the idea that the government should gradually withdraw from education, but at the same time it has to increase its role in the definition of educational goals, financial support and control over the quality of the education product.
Origin of Life: The Point of No Return
Origin of life research is one of the greatest scientific frontiers of mankind. Many hypotheses have been proposed to explain how life began. Although different hypotheses emphasize different initial phenomena, all of them agree around one important concept: at some point, along with the chain of events toward life, Darwinian evolution emerged. There is no consensus, however, how this occurred. Frequently, the mechanism leading to Darwinian evolution is not addressed and it is assumed that this problem could be solved later, with experimental proof of the hypothesis. Here, the author first defines the minimum components required for Darwinian evolution and then from this standpoint, analyzes some of the hypotheses for the origin of life. Distinctive features of Darwinian evolution and life rooted in the interaction between information and its corresponding structure/function are then reviewed. Due to the obligatory dependency of the information and structure subject to Darwinian evolution, these components must be locked in their origin. One of the most distinctive characteristics of Darwinian evolution in comparison with all other processes is the establishment of a fundamentally new level of matter capable of evolving and adapting. Therefore, the initiation of Darwinian evolution is the “point of no return” after which life begins. In summary: a definition and a mechanism for Darwinian evolution are provided together with a critical analysis of some of the hypotheses for the origin of life
US Stock Market at the Background of the Covid-19 Pandemic: Implication for Valuation
The main objective of this study is to discuss the forces driving today’s US stock market levels, in an attempt of assessing their reasonability. This is not the first research of this kind of the author, but the approach now is a little bit different. Some important issues are raised regarding the different types of players on the stock market and their potential influence on its dynamics. The S&P 500 PE ratios are analyzed in historic plan and subsequently used for deriving the implied capitalization rateand cost of equity for different sub-periods. The results indicate for atypically high current PE ratios, and unreasonably low cost of equity. One of the conclusions is that to a great extent this is caused by the policy of low interest rates and quantitative easing, and is an important factor driving high price levels in the short run. It is not logical to accept this as a normal cost of equity level, meaning that it could not be sustainable in the long run. The implication for valuation of stocks is thatfundamental analysts and investors would better avoid the temptation of using the current cost of equity as it is not representative for the purpose of fundamental models
