The rise and impact of digital amnesia: why we need to protect what we no longer remember
The internet and internet-enabled devices have transformed our everyday lives and relationships. We entrust them with our precious personal information including contacts and images and rely on them to connect us to a vast repository of knowledge, anytime, anywhere.
As part of its commitment to help people protect what matters most in their online-enabled world, Kaspersky Lab wanted to better understand how digital devices and the internet affect the way consumers recall and use information today – and what, if anything, they are doing to protect it. We commissioned research firm Opinion Matters to survey 6,000 consumers, aged between 16 and 55+, split equally between male and female, with 1,000 from each of the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Benelux.
The results suggest a direct link between data available at the click of a button and a failure to commit that data to memory. Kaspersky Lab has termed this phenomenon Digital Amnesia: the experience of forgetting information that you trust a digital device to store and remember for you
Consumer security risks survey: from scared to aware - digital lives in 2015
Introduction
In 2015, just under half (43%) the world’s population has an Internet connection: 3.2 billion people, compared to 2.9 billion in July 2014.
The Internet brings communications, shopping, entertainment, news, education, work and more to anyone, anytime, anywhere and on any device. But our threat research shows that these same channels can be, and increasingly are also used by criminals, malicious attackers, terrorists and even bullies. Some are simply out to hurt, disrupt or destabilize; others are after money or identities; and a few of the most dangerous have set their sights on political or business intelligence or even critical national infrastructure such as electricity networks. In one way or another, everyone is at risk.
And all those people and groups with malicious intent keep a close eye on evolving digital technology. Every new development, every new device and every new operating system is explored for vulnerabilities. They also exploit human behaviour, such as a lack of digital literacy and an innate tendency to trust.
In order to better understand how Internet users across the world perceive, prepare for and are impacted by current online threats, Kaspersky Lab, together with research company B2B International, undertakes a comprehensive annual global research study. The study explores device ownership and Internet use, as well as awareness and experience of current cyberthreats
Cyberthreat Real-time Map
This three dimensional world map, from Kaspersky Lab, shows threats to cyber security in real time. Separate colors indicate detection categories, including web anti-virus and intrusion detection scans, and each nation can be selected to view overall threat statistics and rankings. The map can be viewed either flat or as a globe, and live detection statistics run totals at the bottom of the page

Indonesia. Pelaksanaan kegiatan kampanye tentunya tidak terlepas dari
perencanaan kampanye. Unicomm, sebagai konsultan PR yang memfokuskan diri
pada kampanye media untuk Kaspersky Lab. Kampanye media tersebut
dituangkan dalam berbagai program kampanye media yaitu media launch, Eugene
visit, blogger gathering, media update, pelaporan berkala kepada Kaspersky
melalui laporan bulanan (monthly report), dan mengadakan berbagai event. Maka
sebelum kampanye PR diimplementasikan, tentunya membutuhkan suatu
perencanaan agar tujuan yang sudah ditetapkan tercapai. Perencanaan penting
dilakukan untuk tercapainya tujuan dari kampanye itu sendiri.
Penelitian ini ingin mengetahui mengenai perencanaan kampanye media
Unicomm untuk Kaspersky Lab periode tahun 2008-2009. Perencanaan kampanye
sangat penting sebelum diimplementasikannya kampanye media. Berdasarkan

Devious chatbots - interactive malware with a plot
Many social robots in the forms of conversation agents or Chatbots have been put to practical use in recent years. Their typical roles are online help or acting as a cyber agent representing an organisation. However, there exists a new form of devious chatbots lurking in the Internet. It is effectively an interactive malware seeking to lure its prey not through vicious assault, but with seductive conversation. It talks to its prey through the same channel that is normally used for human-to-human communication. These devious chatbots are using social engineering to attack the uninformed and unprepared victims. This type of attacks is becoming more pervasive with the advent of Web 2.0. This survey paper presents results from a research on how this breed of devious Malware is spreading, and what could be done to stop it
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
