In commemoration of professor V.P. Karpov
This article is about professor Karpov V.P., a prominent scientist, first rector of Yekaterinoslav Medical Academy. Biography of a great investigator, his main achievements in the area of histology, biology, theory and history of medicine was studied. Professor Karpov V.P. always combined his great scientific, organizational and research work with social activity. Monographs of professor Karpov V.P. and conferences organized by him were of great importance in the solution of such new problems as theary of microscope and cell amitosis. Professor Karpov is a founder of a large school of histology. Thanks to his active participation and personal guidance, in 1917 department of histology was founded in Yekaterinoslav Medical Institute. The author of the article has analyzed Hippocrates` works translated into Russian by professor Karpov V.P. and pointed out their significance for modern medical science and practice

Orthodoxy, Islam and Religious Intolerance in Russia was presented by Vyacheslav Karpov, an Associate Professor at Western Michigan University. His current resea rch focuses on religion, moral values and tolerance in Russia, the United States, and other societies. Karpov has also researched and published work on post-communist political and educational change. Presently, he is serving as the Principal Investigator of a collaborative international survey-research project entitled Religious Intolerance among Orthodox Christians and Muslims in Russia which is funded by the National Council for East European and Eurasian Research. Prior to coming to the Un ited States in 1990, Karpov had lived, studied and worked in St. Petersburg, Russia
KAJIAN STLISTIKA DAN NILAI-NILAI EDUKATIF PADA NOVEL MARYAMAH KARPOV KARYA ANDREA HIRATA
ABSTRACT Annisa Rahmah. K1208067. “STUDY STYLISTIC AND VALUES EDUCATIVE ON THE NOVEL MARYAMAH KARPOV BY ANDREA HIRATA”. The objectives of this research are, (1) to describe the elements that build stylistic Maryamah Karpov novel by Andrea Hirata, (2) to describe the educational values that exist on the novel Maryamah Karpov by Andrea Hirata. This study is a qualitative study of the data source novel by Andrea Hirata Maryamah Karpov. Sampling techniques in this study using the technique of literature by analyzing the contenst. In this analysis the researcher read minutely then noted document taken from the primary data related to the problem and research objectives. The results of this study found that there is educational value in the novel Maryamah Karpov value of religious, education, moral, social and cultural. While analyzed with the existing style of the novel Maryamah Karpov found that the use of metaphor in language style from tertralogy novel by Andrea Hirata amounted to 206 data. The type of style that is used in tetralogy novel by Andrea Hirata totaled 9 namely : Being, Cosmos, Energi, Substance, Terrestrial, Object, Living, Animate, and Human. In conclussion, the study Stylistics and the value of education in the novel Maryamah Karpov by Andrea Hirata found a wide variety of word choice and style of language and values language and values education. POSTMODERNISME PADA NOVEL MARYAMAH KARPOV KARYA ANDREA HIRATA Radfan Faisal Jawa Pos Radar Bromo [email protected] Abstrak: Penelitian mendeskripsikan aspek-aspek postmodernisme yang terdapat dalam novel Maryamah Karpov karya Andrea Hirata. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan sosiologi sastra, jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif yang bersifat eksploratif. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah novel Maryamah Karpov karya Andrea Hirata. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa kutipan-kutipan cerita yang memiliki relevansi dengan permasalahan penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa postmodernisme dalam novel Maryamah Karpov karya Andrea Hirata meliputi ekletisisme, parodi, pastiche, ironi, dan camp. Kelima aspek tersebut menjadi sesuatu yang baru dalam novel Maryamah Karpov. Ekletisisme yang diungkapkan berupa perpaduan budaya asing ke dalam budaya sendiri di mana pun tokoh berada. Unsur parodi diungkapkan dalam bentuk sifat mendramatisasi suatu kejadian yang dibangun dari perasaan tokoh. Bentuk pastiche terwujud dalam apresiasi yang tinggi terhadap teks-teks masa lalu yang dialami tokoh. Bentuk ironi yang terjadi menggambarkan suatu kejadian yang tidak sesuai dengan harapan dan sudah menjadi takdir yang harus dijalani tokoh. Bentuk camp lebih menekankan pada gaya arsitektur dan dekoratif yang indah yang ditemui oleh tokoh. Kata kunci: postmodernisme, ekletisisme, pastiche, parodi, ironi dan camp Abstract: This study describes postmodernism aspects in the novel Maryamah Karpov written by Andrea Hirata. This qualitative study uses the literary sociology approach. Furthermore, it employs explorative descriptive method. The data source was the novel from which quotations of the story which were relevant with the research problems were collected and analyzed. The results show that postmodernism in the novel Maryamah Karpov by Andrea Hirata covered eclecticism, parody, pastiche, irony, and camp. The five aspects were new things in the novel. The exposed eclecticism was the foreign culture mixing into the indigenous culture of the characters. The parody was exposed in dramatization of events created from the characters' feelings. The pastiche was reflected in the characters' strong aspiration of the old texts. The irony illustrated the characters' unexpected events and destiny. The camp put emphasis on architectural and decorative styles
