Who Incarnates and Why? An Oriental Reading of King-Spirit
No full textComparison of Buddhist texts and King-Spirit by Juliusz Słowacki bring interesting results. Here there are both examples of similar forms of literary, philosophical systems and rules of incarnation of human consciousness. The Polish poet’s King-Spirit can thus be regarded as a record of the discovery of the entity in the chain of previous incarnations. It is also an act of faith in the spiritual principle of the universe. Juliusz Słowacki was an artist who combined elements of Far Eastern thought, Buddhist-Vedic culture with content Jewish-Greek, Slavic and Polish. More than the cultural erudition evident in the poem is the great poet’s imagination, which takes the form of romantic imagery. No full textThe object of the report was to elucidate in detail the various features of the research program in meteorology being carried on at the Daniel Guggenheim Airship Institute in Akron, Ohio. Mr. L. J. Fangman, of the U.S. Weather Bureau, was collaborating with the author in carrying out work such as a study of autographic records of the various meteorological elements during frontal passages with a view to the possible prediction of the intensity of the accompanying disturbance as it may affect the operation of aircraft and a study of atmospheric gustiness with a view to finding the dependence between frequency end amplitude of velocity fluctuations and the vertical temperature and velocity gradients

No full textThis report is on the investigations of frontal phenomena at the Daniel Guggenheim Airship Institute in Akron, Ohio from January 1, 1935 through August 1, 1936. The investigation was carried out with the cooperation of the U.S. Bureau of Aeronautics, the U.S. Weather Bureau, the California Institute of Technology, and the Guggenheim Airship Institute. Mr. R.C. Robinson of the Weather Bureau cooperated with the author in carrying out the investigation. The object of the investigation was to determine the intensity of the atmospheric disturbances (i.e. rapidity of wind shift and gustiness) accompanying the passage of cold fronts, along with a study of the characteristics of the air masses involved and other features which might affect the intensity of the disturbance. The report treated thirty cold fronts which passed the station during 1935 to 1936

Microorganisms. 2021;9(7): 1434.Many bacteria encode so-called cold shock proteins. These proteins are characterized by a conserved protein domain. Often, the bacteria have multiple cold shock proteins that are expressed either constitutively or at low temperatures. In the Gram-positive model bacterium Bacillussubtilis, two of three cold shock proteins, CspB and CspD, belong to the most abundant proteins suggesting a very important function. To get insights into the role of these highly abundant proteins, we analyzed the phenotypes of single and double mutants, tested the expression of the csp genes and the impact of CspB and CspD on global gene expression in B. subtilis. We demonstrate that the simultaneous loss of both CspB and CspD results in a severe growth defect, in the loss of genetic competence, and the appearance of suppressor mutations. Overexpression of the third cold shock protein CspC could compensate for the loss of CspB and CspD. The transcriptome analysis revealed that the lack of CspB and CspD affects the expression of about 20% of all genes. In several cases, the lack of the cold shock proteins results in an increased read-through at transcription terminators suggesting that CspB and CspD might be involved in the control of transcription termination
