Automatic seed sowing machine / Mohammad Danish Hakim Kasim and Abdul Hadi Abdul Rahim @ Ibrahim
Sowing is the most important process in farming. The existing products or machines are designed only for seed-sowing purposes without the digging process. Both sowing and digging processes are done separately, thus becoming time-consuming and require human effort. The objective of this project is to build a machine that can assist in agriculture processes, reduce manpower, and time saving. The amount of seeds that can be carried by the machine is studied using engineering analysis. Then, the revolution of wheels needs to be synced with the wheeled container so the seed can be poured at one time. Other than that, the machine parts are welded together. The target customer for this project is those involved in agriculture like farmers because most of them are elderly. Besides, it can save a lot of time and can reduce manpower. Laporan ini ditulis sebagai bahan rujukan kepada mereka yang ingin memahami bagaimana kerja-kerja Pembuatan Mesin yang bermula dengan rekabentuk lukisan kejuruteraan, pembinaan (fabrication) dan akhir sekali cara mesin beroperasi. Projek ini dijalankan sebagai menyahut cadangan yang dikemukakan oleh pihak pengusaha dodol yang ingin mendapatkan sebuah mesin untuk pengeluaran dodol secara besar-besaran. Untuk pengetahuan umum, mesin yang kami cipta hanyalah sebagai "prototype” sahaja kerana dalam pembinaannya terdapat banyak kelemahan dan kekurangan dalam pelbagai segi terutamanya dari segi pembinaan yang kurang teguh. Walaubagaimanapun kami sentiasa berharap agar pihak-pihak yarig lebih mahir di dalam bidang pembuatan (manufacturing) akan meneruskan usaha-usaha kaji selidik bagaimana dapat menghasilkan sebuah mesin yang dapat memberikan persembahan (performance) yang baik dari segi kebolehpercayaan (reliability) yang tinggi

The aim of this project is to develop a sweeping machine that is both eco-friendly and versatile enough to clean small and large areas. Currently, road cleaning is done manually, which puts workers at risk of health problems like asthma and skin irritation. The proposed eco-friendly sweeper machine is cost-effective, efficient, and easy to use, making it ideal for cleaning both large and small spaces. Additionally, it is designed to avoid the use of electricity and diesel engines, which would eliminate the risk of pollution, including noise and air pollution. Pada 1 Ogos 2022, Pra Perbincangan mengenai inisiatif geran padanan antarabangsa telah diadakan secara dalam talian yang melibatkan Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) dan dua (2) buah institusi daripada Indonesia iaitu Universitas Islam Riau (UIR) dan Universitas Telkom (Tel-U). Hasil perbincangan telah memutuskan sebanyak tujuh (7) projek yang melibatkan pelbagai disiplin diusulkan untuk cadangan penyelidikan bagi geran padanan antarabangsa.

Hypoglycemic activity and toxicology studies of ethyl acetate extracts of pereskia bleo leaves / Abdul Mutalib Kasim
Pereskia bleo is a leafy cactus which belongs to Cactaceae family and it is commonly used among the traditional medicine practitioners to prevent or treat diabetes by consuming the leaves. The hypoglycemic activity of ethyl acetate extract obtained from the leaves of Pereskia bleo, the existing plants with no known scientific report on their blood glucose lowering potentials, were investigated using fasting blood glucose level method and oral glucose tolerance test in normoglycemic rats. The extracts were prepared using soxhlet apparatus of dried powdered leaves of the Pereskia bleo by ethyl acetate solution and subsequent purification of the extract using rotary evaporator. The extracts were administered to the animal models via the oral route. Their blood glucose levels were determined using an Accu-Chek Glucometer, at various time intervals. The acute toxicity profiles of ethyl acetate extract of Pereskia bleo leaves were investigated by examining the blood levels of alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, urea and creatinine as well as, the gross examination of liver and kidney. The ethyl acetate extract of Pereskia bleo leaves demonstrate a significant blood glucose lowering activity up to 4 hour with 19% reduction of blood glucose level from initial level in a dose dependent response in normoglycemic rats. It is possible that the extract may act by potentiating the pancreatic secretions or increasing the glucose uptake, its mode of action involved the stimulation of insulin production. The findings indicated that the ethyl acetate extract of Pereskia bleo leaves possess hepatoprotective ability that increase liver function leading to blood glucose lowering in normoglycemic rats. The ethyl acetate extract of Pereskia bleo leaves considered safe to use based on the outcome of acute toxicity study in experimental rats with no significant changes between control and treatment rats
