Chrysantheum B carlavirus (CVB) that infected Chrysanthemum in Indonesia: characterization and development of detection methode
Namun demikian lebih sering kultivar yang terinfeksi virus ini tidak menunjukkan gejala (symptomless).Infection of chrysantheum B carlavirus (CVB) in chrysanthemum has reported from many countries where the plants were cultivated. In a survey of chrysanthemum growing fields (and greenhouse) in Cianjur regency, West Java, Indonesia, some chrysanthemum cultivars exhibited a variety of symptoms ranging from mild mottle, vein-clearing and mild mosaic of leaves; and color breaking of flowers
Study of entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium brunneum Petch as biocontrol agent against Macrotermes gilvus hagen (Isoptera: Termitidae) in castor (Jatropha curcas L.) plantantion
Macrotermes gilvus Hagen is primary pest of castor (Jatropha curcas L.), as the termites can damage roots and stems. The purposes of this research were: (1) to estimate population size of colony in field stations at KIJP Pakuwon, (2) to study M. gilvus foraging range, (3) to study the symptomatology and lethal time of M. brunneum as biocontrol agent to M. gilvus in the laboratory, (4) to study the effectiveness of the M. brunneum Petch as biological control agents against M. gilvus in KIJP Pakuwon. The study was conducted from November 2009 to October 2010 in the insect pathology laboratory and insect taxonomy laboratory Departement of Plant Protection, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Zoology Laboratory LIPI Cibinong and in the KIJP Pakuwon. Laboratory test was designed using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and the data were subject to probit analysis. Triple mark recapture methods were used to estimate termite population in the field. In the laboratorium the effective density of conidia as biotermiticide was 1,21x106 konidia/mL, and this led to mortality of M. gilvus up to 85,45%, while the density of 1,08x106conidia/mL resulting in mortality of 78,63%. The suspension of fungi at density 1,21x106conidia/mL was poured at each experimental station (150 mL/station). The result showed that in block I (15.210 m2), block II (5.700 m2), block III (27.000 m2), 8, 1 and 15 termite colonies have been detected respectively from which, 150.388, 59.219, and 149.459 individus were found. In block I, the termites maximum foraging range as far as 140,5 m, as compared to 140 m in block III. In all blocks, we noted the significant decrease of termite population after application of M. brunneum, from initial population 359.066 individus to 15.015 individusRayap Macrotermes gilvus Hagen merupakan salah satuhama penting tanaman jarak pagar yang merusak sistem perakaran pada pangkal batang tanaman, dan mengakibatkan tanaman terluka, patah dan akhirnya mati.

POTENTIAL ROLE OF WILD CRUCIFERS IN THE PRESERVATION OF DIADEGMA EUCEROPHAGA HORSTMAN (HYMENOPTERA: ICHNEUMONIDAE), A PARASITOID OF THE DIAMONDBACK MOTH, PLUTELLA XYLOSTELLA LINNAEUS (LEPIDOPTERA: PLUTELLIDAE)
Laboratory and field experiments were conducted to evaluate the potential role of two species of wild crucifers in the preservation of Diadegma eucerophaga Horstman, a parasitoid of the diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella Linnaeus. In the laboratory, D. eucerophaga developed quite well on P. xylostella larvae fed on leaves of two species of wild cruciferous plants, Nasturtium heterophyllum BL. and Cardamine hirsuta L. These wild crucifers may serve as food and oviposition sites for P. xylostella. In the field, N. heterophyllum and C. hirsuta planted adjacent to insecticide-treated cabbage plots provided refuge for D. eucerophaga parasitoids
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
