This interpretive exploration tries to find out the ideologies contained in the phrase Kabar(literally means news, however, italso rather to say story) and the ideology in the scripture of laut[the sea] and how the two sets of expressions speak out the restlessness of the noted poet Chairil Anwar. Educating the Indonesian Language A Proposed Verbal Social Project for the National Harmony
Abstract—This paper presents the exploration of language use pragmatically and to propose educating the Indonesian language as a verbal social project for the national harmony. The word educating here is beyond in-classroom teaching-learning process, as it also involves family and societal participation in the project. With the formats of Distant Indonesian Language (DIL) and Close Indonesian Language (CIL), this proposition is important to avoid rude situations and awkward situations to different types of hearer. Within the formats, DIL is spoken to superiors, while CIL is spoken to close people. Ineligible use of the two formats may cause either situation to happen, which may lead to interpersonal or social friction, or the national disharmony. The formats have never been researched on nor applied in the Indonesian language education policy so far. The social project in this scheme comprises six phases, namely (1) in-family interaction phase, (2) in-classroom teaching-learning process phase, (3) in-school evaluation phase, (4) in-school re-evaluation phase, (5) in-public verification phase, and (6) in-society selection phase. Each phase in this verbal social project is described and justified for its efficacy to contribute to the national harmony. Theoretically, this research develops the notions of positive and negative face, positive and negative politeness strategies, respect and solidarity politeness, and politeness and camaraderie, with elaborated types of hearer. Empirically, this study presents to reduce or to eliminate rude and awkward situations.

THE LANGUAGE OF INFORMALITY WITHIN ELT CONTEXT
This research paper explores aspects of informality in the English language, the target hearers referred to by the aspects, and the functions the aspects convey in verbal interactions or communication, and its contribution to English Language Teaching (ELT) in the world. The research data are retrieved, obtained, and verified from informal-English-affiliated URLs or Websites, i.e. Web-Data as sources of informal English. As the findings, informal English involves the notorious, casual, heteregeneous, inconsistent, irregular, unorganized, incomplete, shorter, cut-down, reversed-up, and speaker-dependent aspects, and has the direct and literal nature. Informal English with its relatively any topics, personal and private, is used for close people to confirm their in-group solidarity or membership of a social group within relaxed situations and unofficial contexts. Knowledge and practices of informal English are necessary for teachers as well as learners. ELT teachers should include informal English in their teaching-syllabus material with particularly-set circumstances. Learning the knowledge and practices of informal English through ELT classrooms should prevent English learners from uncontrolled learning exposures to various informal morally-dangerous settings. This way will expectedly encourage English learners to be alert and careful in using informal English, hence encouraging them to maintain interpersonal and social harmony to some broader extent
A PHILOSOPHY OF LANGUAGE ON THE INDONESIAN SUBJECTIVE THIRD-PERSON SINGULAR PRONOUNS WITHIN THEIR PROBABLE ENGLISH EQUIVALENTS
This simple research article is about a philosophy of language on the Indonesian subjective third-person singular pronouns DIA and IA and their probable equivalents in the English language. The philosophy involves discussions on the nature of meaning of DIA and IA, the use of DIA and IA, the cognition of DIA and IA, and the relationship between DIA and IA and reality in Indonesian context. English probable equivalents are analyzed and elaborated to contribute a conclusion on new forms and functions of the subjective pronouns DIA and IA in Indonesian context. This article is more of philosophy rather than of discourse analysis, as it draws our attention to the fact that language use is, indeed, a matter of probability which later may evolve into being or a reality, i.e. the forms and functions of DIA and IA in formal use as well as practical use in Indonesian context. Keywords: Subjective Pronouns, Third-Person Singular Pronouns, Indonesian Subjective Third-Person Singular Pronouns, English Subjective Third-Person Singular Pronouns, Word Equivalent
