Get PDFThis study tries to discuss the central issue of the instilling plural values to learners of each level of Islamic schools in Makassar. This study focuses on Islamic schools, since the teaching of religious subjects were also offered at public schools. In order to limiting the scope of the research, this study highlights on the extent of religious teaching and how the teaching are synchronized with of the plurality values in schools that consists of diverse ethnicity and culture in one hand, and diverse religious beliefs outside the schools, in another hand. The main problem statement is how the plurality values are instilled at Islamic schools in Makassar. The instilling process of plural values is tilled at Islamic schools in Makassar. The instilling process of plural values and culture is qualitative with socio-cultural pedagogical approach. The finding is that the instilling of the plurality values had been implemented but is not yet an adequate process, because it is still sporadic. Also, it is not yet concretely reflected in the curriculum
Guidance Navigation and Control for a Mobile Robot using Vision System and Adaptive Particle Filter
No full textThe main goal of this thesis is to present a system for determining a mobile robot’s pose estimation and mapping in unknown environments. This system has the ability to guide, navigate and control the robot based on a vision system. The system utilizes sensor fusion to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of state estimation. The mobile robot employs a stereo camera and to increase the precision and accuracy of the state estimate, a new Adaptive Fuzzy Particle Filter is implemented based on the fuzzy logic which commonly occur in the traditional Particle Filter and prevented them from diverging. The proposal investigated the mobile robot’s characteristics parameters in an unknown environment with varying amounts of particles. The results showed that the sensor noise can be reduced effectively. The mobile robots using PID controlling was introduced. Experimental validation substantiated the resilience and effectiveness of the proposed controller
Mohamad Roem's political activities and Islamic political vision (1908-1983)
No full textThis thesis deals with the political activities and Islamic political vision of Mohamad Roem (1908--1983), a prominent Masyumi leader and Indonesian diplomat in the first half of the twentieth century. His life and early education as well as his works are discussed in order to trace the sources which inspired his vision. In his political activities, Roem expressed his Islamic nationalism by joining and founding Islamic movements from the late Dutch colonial period through the beginning of the New Order. He had much political success, especially in the Republican period. However, he was one of many Muslim leaders who also suffered for his political involvement in the Soekarno era, he was jailed for about four years, while in the Soeharto era, he was banned from participating in political activities. He was a moderate Muslim leader who aspired to cooperate with "secular" leaders in his time for the sake of a larger cause. His Islamic political vision had a significant impact and was a major contribution to both the Indonesian state and the Islamic community. His moderation is reflected in his political correspondence with Nurcholish Madjid in which he argued for the need of an Islamic political party without demanding the creation of an Islamic state. Finally, Roem's political activities and Islamic political vision point to a model of activism in a religiously pluralistic country and could possibly serve as an inspiration to Muslim politicians, especially after Soeharto's fall when Islamic political parties found fertile ground for growth
