CTCF regulates positioning of the human cystic fibrosis gene in association with a histone deacetylase
AbstractThe nuclear positioning of mammalian genes often correlates with their functional state. For instance, the human cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene associates with the nuclear periphery in its inactive state, but occupies interior positions when active. Treatment with the histone deacetylase inhibitor trichostatin a (TSA) changes the radial positioning of the CFTR gene in HeLa S3 cells. The gene relocates from the nuclear periphery to the nuclear interior. In Calu-3 cells the gene is located in the nuclear interior. To identify potential regulatory elements for the positioning of CFTR, the histone H3 and H4 acetylation patterns of untreated and TSA-treated HeLa S3 and untreated Calu-3 cells were determined by ChIP–chip. Here is a detailed description of the datasets associated with the study by Muck et al. published in the Journal of Cellular Biochemistry in 2012
DESA MUCK
doprla i do generacije čitatelja početnika.
budući da jeFor several years now Desa Muck has been the most popular Slovenian
author. Her popularity among young readers has been confirmed by the competition
entitled My Favourite Book12. The author has been awarded five times in a row for
her series of books about Anica. She has written 23 texts for children and youth, but
achieved her most notable success with the book entitled Lažljiva Suzi (Lying Suzy),
which brought her the most prestigious award for young adult literature in Slovenia,
the Večernica award in 1997. At the beginning of her career as an author for young
readers, her books were intended for teenagers. With a series of books about Anica
Pivnik, however, she has also managed to reach the generation of beginner readers.
The popularity of this literary series saw its revival in the autumn of 2008, as the
television show based on the literary series Anica was first broadcast on the Slovenian
Television. She has also published two novels for adult readers, Panika (Panic) and
Pješčanik boga djeteta (The Sandbox of the Child God). Desa Muck's work has
been extensively translated into many languages, including Croatian, which makes
her virtually the only youth literature author translated into Croatian in the last couple
of years. Several books from the series about Anica have been included into
obligatory reading literature. The article does not present the entire literary production
of the author, but only her realistic prose fiction, since it has been translated into
Croatian for the most part, and as such it is more relevant for present analysis.
avtorica petkrat zapovrstjo namreč prejela to nagrado.
SERIES ANICA BY DESA MUCK
V diplomskem delu so zajeta mnenja in ugotovitve Dragice Haramija, Marjane Kobe
ter Igorja Sakside. V realistično mladinsko prozo spadajo pripovedi ali povesti.Značilnosti le-teh so predstavljene v seriji besedil Anica Dese Muck. Pripovedi, ki jih vsebuje ta serija, so: Anica in materinski dan, Anica in grozovitež, Anica in zajček, Anica in Jakob, Anica in športni dan, Anica in velike skrbi, Anica in počitnice, Anica in velika skrivnost, Anica in prva ljubezen ter Anica in skrivnostna maska. Comparative analysis of Desa's Muck and Christine's Nostlinger youth texts
The first part of my thesis compares two books of youth authors, Desa Muck and Christine Nostlinger. From Desa's Muck collection Anica I chose two works- Anica in počitnice and Anica in prva ljubezen. From the collection Franceve zgodbe belonging to Christine Nostlinger I chose the books, Franceve počitniške zgodbe and Franceve ljubezenske zgodbe. On the outside both collections are similar.
In the case of both authors all of the occurence is being tied up on the main characters, Anica from the collection of Anica and France from the collection Franceve zgodbe. In the literary works of both authors I noticed some similarities. The main characters are completely common children who do not stand out from their peers and both capture events from real life. The language of the authors is adjusted to children with similar age as the main characters. It is easy to understand, simple and sometimes interwines with the youthful manner of expressing.
In the second, empirical part I wanted to answer the question if the pupils of the second trinennial are familiar with the authors, Desa Muck and Christine Nostlinger and which of their literary works the know.
Analysis of the treated fagments, from the 4th grade textbook Blazno resno popolni of the author Desa Muck and the 5th grade textbook Požvižgamo se na kumaričnega kralja of Christine Nostlinger, show that the pupils did not know the literary work preliminary and got familar with them after they read the fragments

Animating the image : reflections on character and process in the "The First and Last Loves of Leonardo Lopes"
Includes bibliographical references (leaves 27-30).In reflecting on the process of making the short film "The First and Last Loves of Leonardo Lopes" the author argues against interpretation as a method for working with character and its development. It is contended that the formative unconscious imagers) at the heart of a character requires a director to be more sensory in her/his response and to develop an intimate process of animating the image. The descriptive personal vocabularies of feeling, intuition and sensation are accordingly juxtaposed against prescriptive impersonal intellectual modalities that diminish immediacy as a by-product of its "latent content". Active imagination, poetry and music are seen as more appropriate models for the filmmaker than theories and theses. The author goes on to consider the dialectical reinforcement of interpretive strategies as a result of the economic pressures of the film industry and argues for a more process friendly conception of production. After reflecting on the role and insecurities of the director in a collaborative art form, a motivation is provided for the "natural voice" of the accompanying director's commentary
Humour in the novels for adults of Desa Muck
Svoje ocenjujoče razmerje do obravnavane problematike bralcu podaja preko komičnih etoloških književnih vrst. Master\u27s thesis is dedicated to the analysis of humour in the novels for adults of Desa Muck, who in 2016 received the Ježek Award for her decades-long creation in the field of noble humour. The subject of the analysis are all of the author\u27s novels for adults that she has written so far. These are: Panika (2003), Peskovnik Boga Otroka (2006) and Odred ali Kako osrečiti druge proti njihovi volji (2015). In these novels one can find character, physical, profession, situation and verbal comedy. The author skillfully uses various tools to create comic effect: caricature, irony, sarcasm and cynicism. She presents her evaluative relation to the issues of the novels through comic ethological literary types. Thus, the novel Panika can be read as a parody of a romantic novel, Peskovnik Boga Otroka as a sociocritical satire, Odred ali Kako osrečiti druge proti njihovi volji as a mixture of political satire and grotesque with a deep sociocritical message. The purpose of the novels in question is not just fun and entertainment, as laughter also hides criticism. These three of Desa Muck\u27s novels for adults are modelled after Horace\u27s rendition of ridendo dicere verum, which means telling the truth while laughing
