Companions of the fragments in the Jonsson enrichment
In this article we consider the properties of central types for the existentially prime strongly convex Jonsson theories in some extension. This class of theories is a subclass of a broad class of Jonsson theories. In particular, the Jonsson theories include the class of all fields of a fixed characteristic. In the given work, problems related to the classical problems of the general Model Theory concerning the following topics were considered. First of all, we note the values of enrichment. Using the one-place predicate, the Jonsson subset is singled out and the concepts of P -stability and various kinds of similarities are considered for the Jonsson completion. The following results were obtained:Coincidence of P - stability for a prototype of the central type and its center. Equivalence of syntactic similarity of companions of fragments of Jonsson enrichment and syntactic similarity of their centers. The above notion of stability has an applied value for studying the properties of the central types in this enrichment. In the second place, it is necessary to note the significance of the concept of the central type in this enrichment. The very idea of a central type presupposes an additional description of the properties of incomplete Jonsson theories by means of central completion. The Jonsson subsets of the semantic model of the existentially prime convex Jonsson theory have good theoretic-model properties. This concerns the Morley rank and it is preserved in the syntactic and semantic similarity of the above theories
I : I. García-Jonsson, prodigiosos gens suecosevillans

Subject Without Nation : Robert Musil and the History of Modern Identity
This innovative study of the works of Robert Musil opens a new window on the history of modern identity in western culture. Stefan Jonsson argues that Musil’s Austria was the first postimperial state in modern Europe. Prior to its destruction in 1918, the Austro-Hungarian Empire had ruled over a vast array of nationalities and, in the course of its demise as well as after, Austria was beset by nationalism, racism, and other forms of identity politics that ultimately led to the triumph of Nazism. It was to this society that Musil responded in his great work The Man Without Qualities. Exploring the nooks and crannies of this modernist classic, Jonsson shows that Musil’s narrative evolves along two axes that must be considered in tandem: Whereas the central plot portrays a Viennese elite that in 1913 attempts to restore social cohesion by gathering popular support for the cultural essence of the empire, the protagonist discovers that he lacks essence altogether and finds himself attracted by monsters, criminals, and revolutionary figures that reject the social order. In this way, Musil’s novel traces the disappearance of what Jonsson calls the expressivist paradigm—the conviction that identities such as gender, nationality, class, and social character are expressions of permanent intrinsic dispositions. This, Jonsson argues, is Musil’s great legacy. For not only did the Austrian author seek to liquidate prevailing conceptions of personal and cultural identity; he also projected “a new human being,” one who would resist assimilation into imperialist, nationalist, or fascist communities.Subject Without Nation presents a new interpretation of Viennese modernity and uncovers the historical foundations of poststructural and postcolonial reconceptualizations of human subjectivity. Illuminating links between Musil’s oeuvre as a whole and post-war developments in critical thought, this book locates an important crossroads between literary criticism, intellectual history, and cultural theory.</p
Interoperability and Semantic Filtering
Interoperability is often seen only as a technological problem related to reusability. We would like to give interoperability a new role in the structure of the learning environment and in collaborative activities. For us interoperability is also connected with didactical, semiotic and cultural aspects. It improves the interaction between the materials produced with different tools, the construction of kaleidoscopic artifacts and the refl ection on the learning process.Godkänd; 2006; 20070430 (ysko)</p

Value-driven engineering design : lessons learned from the road construction equipment industry
Value models, in form of economical optimization functions, are often proposed to frontload engineering design activities. However, literature argues that, when qualitative data and assumptions prevail, a qualitative assessment of the ‘goodness’ of a design is preferable against a numerical (and monetary-based) encoding of preferences. This paper explores how a model-based approach can support deliberation about value in cross-functional design teams. Emerging from case studies in the road compaction equipment industry, the paper analyzes preferences for value modelling support when it comes to iteratively translate customer desires into terms meaningful for engineering design decision-making. It further prescribes a framework for value-driven engineering design that considers the need to update the value model definition as far as new information become available in the process, moving from qualitative to quantitative. The findings highlight the role the proposed chain of value models plays in terms of providing a shared reference to stimulate value discussions across functions and organizational roles, which is something that does not naturally happen in the organization today
