Steven Johnson Syndrome: Adverse Drug Reaction
The Steven-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) is a rare immune complex mediated hypersensitivity condition. Here we report the case of Steven-Johnson Syndrome due to the co-administration of aceclofenac and cefixime. NSAIDs are the rare type of medication that causes SJS and cefixime is a traditional medication that causes the condition. A 22- years-old patient was admitted in the hospital with a complaint of fever for 15 days and he was treated by giving aceclofenac, cefixime and general symptomatic treatment. On the 4th day of treatment erythromatous patches were observed throughout the body. Laboratory investigations were performed and the case was identified as Steven-Johnson Syndrome. The treatment was withdrawn and he was administered with steroids, amoxicillin, metronidazole and general symptomatic treatment. The patient has recovered after a week

Steven Johnson Interview, November 24, 2019
Steve Johnson describes his time serving in Europe during the Vietnam War. He talks about serving in Wiesbaden, Germany, noting that many U.S. troops were sent to Europe for 20 months during their active duty during the Vietnam War. Johnson discusses his retirement from the military, coming back to the States, and the way he was treated for serving during the Vietnam War. He compares that to the way World War and Korean War veterans were treated and notes that he’s envious of the way that war veterans are treated during the 21st century. Johnson details his struggles with drug addiction, which began after he entered the service. He concludes by saying how proud he was to serve in the U.S. Army Airborne and shares his opinion that everyone U.S. citizen should serve a stint in the military.https://scholarworks.umt.edu/veteransexperience_oralhistory/1002/thumbnail.jp
