Patriotism as an ethical and social phenomenon in the Confucian treatise Kunzi Jia Yu
Get PDFIntroduction. This article makes an attempt to analyze patriotism as an ethical and social phenomenon. The subject of the study is the content of the ancient philosophical treatise Kunzi Jia Yu (Speeches of the School of Confucius), which is attributed as a Confucian text. Theoretical analysis. The basis for the development of patriotism in Kunzi Jia Yu is the Confucian virtues: filial piety, love for mankind, devotion, etc. Patriotism carries regulatory, harmonizing, integrative and identification functions, as well as the function of ethical self-improvement for an individual. The bearers of patriotic ideas are Confucian noble men, and the ultimate goal of patriotic actions is benefitting one’s state, appeasing the Celestial Empire and personal moral self-development. Being a part of the political doctrine of Confucianism, patriotism as an ethical and social phenomenon has occupied an important place in the philosophical research of prominent philosophers since ancient times, and over time it has become a powerful spiritual force of the Chinese nation. Conclusion. The role of patriotism as the basis for the stability of society and the spiritual achievement of the individual is difficult to overestimate, and at the same time it is necessary to analyze this role and comprehend it in detail in different historical periods, taking into account the specifics of the current world situation. Patriotism in modern Chinese society is a powerful consolidating and spiritual force for the multinational people

No full textВ статье дается краткий обзор наиболее авторитетных работ, посвященных изучению конфуцианского философского трактата "Кун-цзы цзя юй" ("Речи школы Конфуция"), которые были написаны в КНР, начиная с 2000 г. и по настоящий момент. Среди современной научной литературы о "Кун-цзы цзя юй" существует немало фундаментальных исследований, которые несут в себе непреходящую академическую ценность. Интерес к этому письменному памятнику объясняется как результатами относительно недавно проведенных на территории провинций Хэбэй и Аньхой археологических раскопок, которые в значительной степени решили многовековой вопрос касательно атрибуции данного текста, так и тем, что в последние десятилетия китайское правительство активно включает конфуцианские архетипы в плоть политической культуры КНР. А первое лицо государства прямо призывает китайских граждан глубоко изучать наследие конфуцианской традиции.The article provides a brief overview of the most authoritative works devoted to the study of the Confucian philosophical treatise "Kong-zi jia yu" ("Speech of the Confucius School"), which were written during the period from 2000 to the present in the PRC. Among the modern scientific literature on "Kong-zi jia yu" there are many fundamental studies that brings enduring academic value. The interest in this written monument is explained as the results of relatively recent archaeological excavations in the provinces of Hebei and Anhui, which largely resolved the centuries-old question about the attribution of this text, and the fact that in recent decades the Chinese government has actively included Confucian archetypes in the flesh of the political culture of the PRC. And the first person of the state directly calls on Chinese citizens to deeply study the heritage of the Confucian tradition.35-4

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
