Especialmente, lo que se busca es develar hasta qué punto la dirección de Jeremy Scott en Moschino ha servido como una herramienta poderosa para la visibilización y empoderamiento de la comunidad LGBTIQ.
En este sentido, el presente trabajo está dividido en tres capítulos: En el primero se contextualiza acerca de algunas luchas de la comunidad LGBTIQ y los cambios más significativos que se han realizado en la industria de la moda relacionados con los roles tradicionales de género. Se examinará cómo el contexto histórico y social preparó el terreno para que diseñadores como Jeremy Scott jugarán un papel vital en la visibilización de la comunidad LGBTIQ. En el segundo capítulo se analiza el trabajo de Jeremy Scott en sus diez años como director artístico de la casa Moschino. Específicamente, se destacan las colaboraciones, eventos y pasarelas que coordinó. Seguido de esto, en el tercer capítulo se relacionan estos aportes y se resaltan los que posiblemente han sido una contribución positiva de visibilización para la comunidad. Con especial énfasis en aquellos aportes que han desafiado los estereotipos de rol impuestos socialmente, específicamente en las dinámicas del mundo de la moda de lujo.
Por último, se realiza una conclusión acerca de los aportes de Jeremy Scott, bajo la dirección de la marca Moschino, para la visibilización de la comunidad LGBTIQ y se ofrecen unas reflexiones. Paralelo a este trabajo de profundización se entrega una pieza plástica a partir de fotografías editoriales de moda inspiradas en el trabajo de Scott, las distintas temáticas y enfoques que se tocaron en el documento. En estas fotografías los protagonistas son personas pertenecientes a la comunidad LGBTIQ. Se busca que estas fotografías relaten historias visualmente atractivas de forma artística-poética. Lo anterior, porque un diseñador debe ser capaz de transmitir, mediante su talento y sensibilidad, el glamour y el arte que la moda conlleva, como una celebración de la autenticidad y la individualidad de cada persona.This text aims to expose the work of designer Jeremy Scott as creative director of the Italian fashion house Moschino and the close relationship between the Western luxury fashion industry and the LGBTIQ community. In particular, the intention is to reveal to what extent Jeremy Scott's direction at Moschino has served as a powerful tool for the visibilization and empowerment of the LGBTIQ community.
In this sense, this paper is divided into three chapters: The first one contextualizes about some struggles of the LGBTIQ community and the most significant changes that have been made in the fashion industry related to traditional gender roles. It will examine how the historical and social context paved the way for designers like Jeremy Scott to play a vital role in making the LGBTIQ community visible. The second chapter analyzes Jeremy Scott's work in his ten years as artistic director of the house of Moschino. Specifically, it highlights the collaborations, events and catwalks he coordinated. Following this, the third chapter relates these contributions and highlights those that have possibly made a positive contribution to the visibility of the community. With special emphasis on those contributions that have challenged socially imposed role stereotypes, specifically in the dynamics of the luxury fashion world.
Finally, a conclusion is made about the contributions of Jeremy Scott, under the direction of the Moschino brand, for the visibility of the LGBTIQ community and some reflections are offered. Parallel to this work of deepening, a plastic piece is delivered from fashion editorial photographs inspired by Scott's work, the different themes and approaches that were touched in the document. In these photographs the protagonists are people belonging to the LGBTIQ community. The aim is for these photographs to tell visually attractive stories in an artistic-poetic way. This is because a designer must be able to transmit, through his talent and sensitivity, the glamour and art that fashion entails, as a celebration of the authenticity and individuality of each person.PregradoDiseñadorAgradecimientos.....4

Error-correcting codes and applications to large scale classification systems

Eng.)--Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Dept. of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, 2009.Includes bibliographical references (p. 37-39).In this thesis, we study the performance of distributed output coding (DOC) and error-Correcting output coding (ECOC) as potential methods for expanding the class of tractable machine-learning problems. Using distributed output coding, we were able to scale a neural-network-based algorithm to handle nearly 10,000 output classes. In particular, we built a prototype OCR engine for Devanagari and Korean texts based upon distributed output coding. We found that the resulting classifiers performed better than existing algorithms, while maintaining small size. Error-correction, however, was found to be ineffective at increasing the accuracy of the ensemble. For each language, we also tested the feasibility of automatically finding a good codebook. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Real time density functional simulations of quantum scale conductance

The certified thesis is available in the Institute Archives and Special Collections.Includes bibliographical references (p. 141-158).We study electronic conductance through single molecules by subjecting a molecular junction to a time dependent potential and propagating the electronic state in real time using time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT). This is in contrast with the more common steady-state nonequilibrium Green's function (NEGF) method. We start by examining quantum scale conductance methods in both the steady state and real-time formulations followed by a review of computational quantum chemistry methods. We then develop the real-time density functional theory and numerical solution techniques and use them to examine transport in a simple trans-polyacetylene wire. The remaining chapters are devoted to examining real-time transport behavior of various systems and model chemistries. Open-shell calculation of the polyacetylene wire reveal that, in agreement with various correlated model calculations, charge and spin behave as separate quasiparticles with different rates of transport. However, the transport of charge, and especially spin are highly dependent upon the amount of exact exchange included in the approximate exchange-correlation energy functional. This functional dependence is further illustrated when we demonstrate that the conductance gap of a device imperfectly coupled to wires varies based upon the non-local exchange and correlation. We also study the dynamic transport behavior of benzene-1,4-dithiol (BDT) coupled to gold leads and find that both the transient current and device charge density fluctuate with time,. Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
