Correlation between Head Computed Tomography Scan, Pre-operative Blood Lactate, and Pre-operative Glucose Level in Acute Traumatic Subdural Hematoma
Acute traumatic subdural hematoma (SDH) is a focal brain injury resulting in alteration of cerebral perfusion and glucose metabolism, which would also results in hyperglicemia-induced-hyperlactatemia. A cross-sectional study was performed to analyze acute traumatic SDH patients by head CT scan and observe the effect on pre-operative blood lactate and blood glucose levels in 40 acute traumatic SDH patients at Dr. Hasan Sadikin Hospital, Bandung, Indonesia during the period of July-September 2013. Somers' D correlation were used in the analysis with a p-value of ≤0.05 considered as significant with 95% confidence interval. The mean values of pre-operative blood lactate and blood glucose levels were 3.16±1.49 mmol/L and 155.85±32.95 mg/dl, respectively with a strong positive correlation between the hematoma thickness and the increase in blood lactate (r= 0.656; p= 0.021) and a moderate positive correlation with increased blood glucose (r= 0.556; p= 0.025). In addition, the compressed cistern also had a very weak positive correlation with increase in blood lactate (r =0.156; p=0.043) and very weak positive correlation with increase in blood glucose (r= 0.139; p=0.056) while the midline shift had a weak positive correlation with increased blood lactate (r=0.353; p= 0.041) and a weak positive correlation with increased blood glucose (r = 0.333; p= 0.046). In conclusion, increased hematoma thickness, compressed cistern, and midline shift seen on head CT scan correlate with increasing blood lactate and glucose levels in acute traumatic SDH. Head CT scan, blood lactate level, and blood glucose level can be considered as one of the routine examinations to determine acute traumatic SDH severity at the macroscopic and cellular level
Functional Recovery of Rare Case of Sciatic Nerve Schwannoma with Peripheral Nerve Block and without Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring
Schwannoma are benign peripheral nerve tumors derived from the Schwann cells in the neural sheath. Sciatic nerve schwannoma in the lower extremity is uncommon, accounting for only 1% of all schwannoma cases. This report aimed to describe the functional recovery after lower limb surgery of sciatic nerve schwannoma with peripheral nerve block and without intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IOM) performed in Semen Padang Hospital in 2019. A 78-year-old woman presented with a complaint of pain on her slowly growing mass at the right popliteal region, which had existed for 22 years. Microsurgical resection was performed with local peripheral nerve block and without intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring. Tumor was removed en-bloc by sharp dissection using a microscope without any complication. The patient had significant pain relief without any neurologic deficit three weeks after the surgery.
Functional Independence Measure Penderita Cedera Servikal
Cervical spine injury is one of the most common spinal cord injuries in trauma patients. From 100,000 spinal cord injury cases reported in the United States of America (2008), 2/3 involved cervical spine injury. American Spinal Cord Injury Association (ASIA) Impairment Score is used as an initial assessment but further prognostic outcome of these patients is often not paid enough attention. The objective of this study was to find the value of functional independence measure (FIM) cervical spine injury patients with conservative management and correlation with age, sex, type of trauma, onset of trauma, cervical bone abnormalities, type of spinal lesion and ASIA Impairment Score. A prospective cohort study was performed to all patients with cervical spine injury which fullfil the inclusion criteria treated in Neurosurgery Department of Dr. Hasan Sadikin Hospital Bandung. The subjects were classified based on age, sex, single/multiple trauma, acute/chronic, cervical bone abnormalities, complete/incomplete lesion, ASIA impairment score and initial complication. The patients were performed to FIM examination in Outpatient clinic of Neurosurgery. T-test and chi-square test with p<0.05 were done to analyze the data. There were 17 cervical spine injury patients treated in Neurosurgery Department of Dr. Hasan Sadikin Hospital Bandung during April 2009–April 2010. The average FIM value of cervical spine injury in those patients was 4+1.63 by cohort prospective study. There were no correlation between FIM value with age (p=0.064), sex (p=0.144), type of trauma (p=0.959), onset of trauma (p=0.220) and cervical bone abnormalities (p=0.869). We found a significant correlation between FIM value with type of cervical spine lesion (p=0.037) and ASIA Impairment Score (p<0.001) in cervical spine patients. In conclusion, type of cervical spine lesion and ASIA impairment score have significant correlation with FIM value of patients in 3 months after cervical injury
Analysis of the Functional Independence Measure Value of Cervical Spine Injury Patients with Conservative Management
Cervical spine injury is one of the most common spinal cord injuries in trauma patients. From 100,000 spinal cord injury cases reported in the United States of America (2008), sixty seven percent involve cervical spine injury. American Spinal Cord Injury Association (ASIA) impairment score is used as an initial assessment but not enough attention prognostic outcome of these patients was paid to. The objective of this study is to analyze the value of functional independence measure (FIM) cervical spine injury patients with conservative management and its correlation with age, sex, type of trauma, onset of trauma, cervical abnormalities, type of cervical spine lesion and ASIA impairment score. A prospective cohort study was performed to all patients with cervical spine injury treated in Neurosurgery Department of Dr. Hasan Sadikin Hospital Bandung that fullfiled the inclusion criteria. ABSTRACT
An electronic journal is a journal in digital or electronic form,
an electronic journal is the same as an electronic book, it can only be
opened and read via electronic devices such as computers, tablets and
smartphones. The purpose of this research is to find out an overview of
the electronic journal (e-journal) collection at Bandar Lampung
University and to find out how the electronic journal collection is
utilized and the obstacles faced by readers in utilizing the electronic
journal collection in completing final assignments for Bandar Lampung
University students.
The type of research used is descriptive qualitative using data
collection techniques of observation, interviews, documentation,
validity of data triangulation. The number of informants in this
research was 7 (seven) people consisting of 1 (one) head of library,
and 6 (six) student representatives from each faculty with the criteria
of informants, final students and those who had used electronic
journal collections. The data that has been collected is then analyzed
using data reduction techniques, data presentation and drawing
conclusions.
Based on the analysis carried out, the author concludes that the
use of electronic journal collections in the Bandar Lampung University
library consists of a description of the existing collections in the library,
in this case the electronic journal collection is still underutilized,
because there are still users who do not know how to search for
electronic journal collections. Utilization of collections can be seen
from internal factors, , namely the needs, motives and interests of the
library, as well as external factors, namely the completeness of the
collection, the skills of the librarian, and the availability of information
retrieval facilities. The obstacles faced by readers in using electronic
journals are language barriers and lack of promotion regarding
electronic journal collections

Spotivibes: Tagging playlist vibes with colors
Music is often both personally and affectively meaningful to human listeners. However, little work has been done to create music recommender systems that take this into account. In this demo proposal, we present Spotivibes: a first prototype for a new color-based tagging and music recommender system. This innovative tagging system is designed to take the users' personal experience of music into account and allows them to tag their favorite songs in a non-intrusive way, which can be generalized to their entire library. The goal of Spotivibes is twofold: to help users better tag their playlists to get better playlists and to provide research data on implicit grouping mechanisms in personal music collections. The system was tested with a user study on 34 Spotify users.Multimedia Computin
Unfolding the dynamics of free-falling folded chain : Experiments and simulations
Funding Information: The authors would like to thank the Ph.D. candidate Zeeshan Ahmad from Aalto University for his help during the experimental sessions. Publisher Copyright: © 2022 The Author(s)Contrary to educated intuition, the tip of a free-falling U-folded chain accelerates faster than gravity without violating the Newtonian laws. In the current work, we study the dynamics of a free-falling U-folded chain experimentally as well as numerically. To this end, high-speed imaging (up to 10000 fps) is used to capture the chain's falling tip by using different openings between the two tips of the chain. Thanks to high-speed digital imaging, the detailed geometry of the dynamic unfolding is captured. The post-processing of captured images has provided detailed quantitative temporal data for displacement, velocity, and acceleration of the falling tip of the chain. The experimental observations have revealed the various phases of dynamics of the falling U-folded chain, including unfolding, whipping, and rebounding phases for the first time. Furthermore, a Henky-type model is developed to capture the associated phenomena related to these phases, such as rebound effect, whip effect, local buckling, and transverse wave propagation. The model that includes nonlinear elastic, dissipative and bilateral gap-contact features, could successfully capture the experimentally observed phases and phenomena of the unfolding dynamics qualitatively.Peer reviewe
