    Youth Conference: Pastor Jared McCaleb

    No full text
Jared McCaleb speaks on running the Christian race. Jared is a pastor at The Woodlands First church in Texas. He started working at The Woodlands First as the Junior High Pastor in 2008, but in 2013 he moved on to being the Campus Pastor at the Birnham Woods branch campus. He has a wife Shelby, a daughter Lucy and a son Hayes. Jared loves football, reading and Dr. Pepper. He is so excited to be a part of Youth Conference this year, to walk alongside the high school students as they journey with Christ

Patt Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science The University of Michigan Ann Arbor, Michigan 48109-2122 fstarkj, olaf,[email protected] Abstract Accurate branch prediction is required to achieve high performance in deeply pipelined, wide-issue processors. Recent studies have shown that conditional and indirect (or computed) branch targets can be accurately predicted by recording the path, which consists of the target addresses of recent branches, leading up to the branch. In current path based branch predictors, the N most recent target addresses are hashed together to form an index into a table, where N is some fixed integer. The inde..

Traces the history of Straits Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society Library which was founded along with the society in 1877. The Library contained a wealth of knowledge pertaining to Malaysia and its surrounding regions, consisting of Malay manuscripts, books, maps, pamphlets, photographs and journals. However, the Library met its tragic end in 1923 whereby its entire collection was transferred on permanent loan to the Raffles Library, Singapor

Bidirectional branch and bound for controlled variable selection. Part II: exact local method for self-optimizing control

The selection of controlled variables (CVs) from available measurements through enumeration of all possible alternatives is computationally forbidding for large-dimensional problems. In Part I of this work [Cao, Y., & Kariwala, V. (2008). Bidirectional branch and bound for controlled variable selection: Part I. Principles and minimum singular value criterion. Comput. Chem. Eng., 32 (10),2306-2319], we proposed a bidirectional branch and bound (BAB) approach for subset selection problems and demonstrated its efficiency using the minimum singular value criterion. In this paper, the BAB approach is extended for CV selection using the exact local method for self-optimizing control. By redefining the loss expression, we show that the CV selection criterion for exact local method is bidirectionally monotonic. A number of novel determinant based criteria are proposed for fast pruning and branching purposes resulting in a computationally inexpensive BAB approach. We also establish a link between the problems of selecting a subset and combinations of measurements as CVs and present a partially bidirectional BAB method for selection of measurements, whose combinations can be used as CVs. Numerical tests using randomly generated matrices and binary distillation column case study demonstrate the computational efficiency of the proposed methods. (C) 2009 Elsevier Ltd. BRANCH AND CUT METHOD FOR SOLVING MULTI OBJECTIVE INTEGER PROGRAMMING ABSTRACT Branch and Cut method is a kind of technique for solving linear programming problem which expect integer for its decision variable, but it usually use to solve a single objective integer programming form. In this paper, the author will show how Branch and Cut method can solve a multi-objective integer programming or so-called goal programming. The author also used LINDO (Linear Discrete Optimization). Keywords: Branch and Cut, Multi-Objective Integer Programming, goal programming.57 HalamanSkripsi Sarjan

The tumble mode - where test pilots fear to tread

    No full text
Following a fatal accident in 1997 and identification of common patterns in several (usually fatal) previous accidents the AAIB (United Kingdom Air Accidents Investigation Branch) asked the BMAA (British Microlight Aircraft Association) to pursue a course of investigation into the tumble mode, which had been attributed as the primary cause of that fatal accident. The tumble mode is a peculiarity of weightshift controlled aircraft - that is flexwing microlights and hang-gliders. It is a departure from controlled flight leading to a nose-down pitch autorotation: pitch rates of 400°/s are known. When a tumble occurs in a microlight aeroplane, it is rare for the crew to survive and loss of the aircraft is universal
