The Spoken Wikipedia Corpora
The Spoken Wikipedia project unites volunteer readers of Wikipedia articles. Hundreds of spoken articles in multiple languages are available to users who are – for one reason or another – unable or unwilling to consume the written version of the article. Our resource, the Spoken Wikipedia Corpus, consolidates the Spoken Wikipediae, adding text segmentation, normalization, time-alignment and further annotations, making it accessible for research and fostering new ways of interacting with the material.

Supporting data set for: Simulations of the Electrochemical Oxidation of Shape-Selected Nanoparticle Catalysts
This dataset contains input and output files for simulations of the oxidation of a set of shape-selected, 3 nm platinum nanoparticles associated with the manuscript found at https://arxiv.org/abs/2201.07605.
The simulations are performed using a grand-canonical Monte-Carlo algorithm[1,2] in combination with the ReaxFF reactive force field method as implemented in the Amsterdam Density Functional (ADF) software package version 2017.106 by Software for Chemistry and Materials (SCM). The Pt/O ReaxFF force field parameterized by Fantauzzi et al. was used for the simulations.[3] Simulations were performed at oxygen chemical potential conditions corresponding to 200-1000 K at ultra-high vacuum (UHV, pO2 = 10-10 mbar) and 400-1200 K at near-ambient pressure (NAP, pO2 = 1 mbar) conditions. The following nanoparticle shapes were used as input structures for the simulations: (111)-indexed octahedron, (100)-indexed cube, (110)-indexed dodecahedron, (111)- and (100)-indexed cuboctahedron, mixed-indexed sphere, and (730)-indexed tetrahexahedron.
The folder structure is as follows:
Particle shape -> pressure condition -> temperature condition -> simulation input and output files
The simulation input and output files are of the following filetypes:
control: Input parameters for the ReaxFF software.
control_MC: Input parameters for the GCMC subroutine that interacts with the ReaxFF software.
geo: Atomic input coordinates in BGF file format.
geo_MCXXXXXX: Atomic output coordinates in BGF file format and ReaxFF total energy result for GCMC step XXXXXX.
Simulations were performed for a total of 25,000 iterations. Only accepted GCMC steps result in the creation of a geo_XXXXXX output file. Therefore, the index XXXXXX is not continuous since output files are not written at every iteration. Other ReaxFF-specific output has been filtered in order to declutter the dataset.

Timo de Rijk: 'We plant the seed'; interview
Art historian Timo de Rijk was appointed Professor of Design, Culture and Society in Delft and Leiden last September. He calls this combination ‘a real breakthrough’. ‘Leiden University studies the workings of culture, while TU Delft aims at creating new things. These are fundamentally different approaches. I am the bridge between the two.’Industrial Design Engineerin
Alternative techniques for the conversion of polyacrylonitrile precursors into carbon nanofiber nonwovens
This work deals with alternative methods for the production of carbon nanofiber nonwovens. The conversion of polymer precursors into carbon nanofiber nonwovens consists of four steps, each of which is addressed in an individual chapter of this thesis. The utilized method combines several fiber drawing forces to produce a nanofibrous precursor nonwoven. The second chapter deals with the stabilization of the above-described nanofiber nonwoven precursors. A novel stabilization method is being developed, using a
plasma-jet instead of thermal conversion in a classical furnace. The third chapter deals with the carbonization of nanofiber nonwovens. Again, a plasma-jet is employed for carbonization and conversion was observed to be as fast as 30 s. The fourth and last chapter deals with the activation of carbon nanofiber nonwovens. It could be shown that plasmajets can be utilized to activate the surface of nanofiber nonwovens in a separate, dedicated process
Portable High Voltage Integrated Harvesting-Storage Device Employing Dye-Sensitized Solar Module and All-Solid-State Electrochemical Double Layer Capacitor
A dye-sensitized solar module (DSSM) and a high voltage all-solid-state electrochemical double layer capacitor (EDLC) are, for the first time, implemented in a compact Harvesting-Storage (HS) device. Conductive glass is employed as current collecting substrate for both DSSM and EDLC, leading to a robust and portable final structure. The photovoltaic section is constituted by a 4 series cells W-type module, while in the storage section an EDLC employing an ionic liquid-based polymeric electrolyte (a mixture of polyethylene oxide and N-butyl-N-methylpyrrolidinium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide, PEO-Pyr14TFSI) and activated carbon electrodes is used. The solid state EDLC is first characterized individually to determine its electrochemical performance before successfully proving the integration with the DSSM. The harvesting-storage properties of the integrated photo-capacitor are evaluated through photo-charge and subsequent discharge protocols performed at two different discharge currents, showing that in this configuration the EDLC unit can be effectively charged up to 2.45 V
This article presents a study on community-based art education at the University of Lapland in Finland. First, the main guidelines of this training model and its curriculum are analysed. Second, the author includes an interview with Timo Jokela, Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design of The University of Lapland in Finland and Director of the Department of Art Education at the same faculty. In the interview Timo Jokela draws upon his own experience as an artist in Finland to talk about the relationships between art, the environment, community and education. He also talks about the social, cultural, artistic and educational aspects, which are central to the community-based art education scheme in place at The University of Lapland
