This Master's thesis aims to read 12 songs by the rapper GOG, from the album Tarja Preta and
presented in the book A Rima Denuncia. GOG, Genival Oliveira Gonçalves, is a Brazilian
rapper, active in the hip-hop movement since the late 1980s, with little academic and even
media prominence compared to artists such as Racionais MC's, Emicida, Gabriel O Pensador
and MV Bill. Drawing an overview of GOG's entire discography, the research intends to
demonstrate the importance of his lyrics and songs as a tool capable of changing the individual
and collective reality of peripheral youth and adults and also seeks to present the importance of
literature that has been made in music format, bringing to light an author, the rapper, still alive,
and active in places where traditional education is often seen as outdated and meaningless for
a portion of the underserved and peripheral community that has suffered for centuries from
inequalities of opportunities, racial and social prejudice.
Preta e presentes no livro A Rima Denuncia.
Ya'juj dan Ma'juj dan Hubungannya dengan Dunia Modern: Telaah Atas Penafsiran Imran Hosein dalam An Islamic View Of Gog And Magog In The Modern World
Imran Hosein is a sufi-interpreter who is concerned about the study of Gog and Magog. His interpretation combines external(z}ahir) and internal (bat}in)knowledge. From this, he produced interpretation out of the mainstream Muslim thought. His interpretation is summarized in the book An Islamic View of Gog and Magog in the Modern World. He viewed that Gog and Magog had long come out. They were the Khazars of the Caucacus Mountains and afterwards divided into Anglo-American-Israeli Alliance (Gog) and modern Russia (Magog). They are the ones behind the corrupt, disruptive, and godless modern world system. This paper analyzes Imran Hosein interpretation of Gog and Magog and its relationship with the modern world. Furthermore, the author also tests the validity of his interpretation based on, (a) the factors behind the interpretation, and (b) the extend to which the possible interpretation when viewed from the rules of us}ūl al-tafsīr. The result of this study concludes that there are inconsistencies in the use of the methodology used by Imran Hosein and injustifices in using interpretive sources. This makes the product of the interpretation non-scientific
Seven challenges in modelling pathogen dynamics within-host and across scales
The population dynamics of infectious disease is a mature field in terms of theory and to some extent, application. However for microparasites, the theory and application of models of the dynamics within a single infected host is still an open field. Further, connecting across the scales – from cellular to host level, to population level – has potential to vastly improve our understanding of pathogen dynamics and evolution. Here, we highlight seven challenges in the following areas: transmission bottlenecks, heterogeneity within host, dynamic fitness landscapes within hosts, making use of next-generation sequencing data, capturing superinfection and when and how to model more than two scales
In situ electron microscopy study of structural transformations in 2D CoSe2
Thermally induced structural transformation of 2D materials opens unique avenues for generating other 2D materials by physical methods. Imaging these transitions in real time provides insight into synthesis routes and property tuning. We have used in situ transmission electron microscopy (TEM) to follow thermally induced structural transformations in layered CoSe2. Three transformation processes are observed: orthorhombic to cubic-CoSe2, cubic-CoSe2 to hexagonal-CoSe, and hexagonal to tetragonal-CoSe. In particular, the unit-cell-thick orthorhombic structure of CoSe2 transforms into cubic-CoSe2 via rearrangement of lattice atoms. Cubic-CoSe2 transforms to hexagonal-CoSe at elevated temperatures through the removal of chalcogen atoms. All nanosheets transform to basal-plane-oriented hexagonal 2D CoSe. Finally, the hexagonal to tetragonal transformation in CoSe is a rapid process wherein the layered morphology of hexagonal-CoSe is broken and islands of tetragonal-CoSe are formed. Our results provide nanoscopic insights into the transformation processes of 2D CoSe2 which can be used to generate these intriguing 2D materials and to tune their properties by modifying their structures for electro-catalytic and electronic applications.Engineering Thermodynamic

This article analyzes the medieval reception of the episode in the life of Alexander the Great
known as the enclosure of the unclean peoples of Gog and Magog. In particular, it analyzes
the transmission of this episode from the eschatological literature to historiographical discourse
represented by chronicles of the 12th century. The authors highlighted within this work, who
until now have not been considered in this process, are from France and the Germanic Empire:
Lambert of Saint-Omer, Honorius Augustodunensis, Otto of Freising, Richard of Cluny, and
the anonymous author of the Libellus de recordatione temporum. The examination of these
links demonstrates the critical role played by the encyclopaedic literature in the transmission
of this episode and suggests that its adoption by the chronicles was due more to this type of
scholarly literature than to the influence of Alexander’s biographies.
First-principles study of dehydration interfaces between diaspore and corundum, gibbsite and boehmite, and boehmite and γ-Al2O3: Energetic stability, interface charge effects, and dehydration defects
Aluminum hydrate dehydration interfaces were studied using a van der Waals density functional. The interface configurations investigated here as a first exploration of possible interface geometries, were all found to have a reasonable probability of occurring. From gibbsite/boehmite and boehmite/γ-Al2O3 interface simulation cells, the formation of dehydration-related defects during relaxation was observed. H transfer between hydroxyl groups, and separation of hydroxyl groups and H atoms from the lattice, resulted in the formation of chemisorbed H2O and OH2 groups in gibbsite; in boehmite, the formation of OH2 groups and interstitial H was observed. All interfaces show a transfer of small amounts of charge across the interface. Accumulation of charge in spaces interstitial to the lattice was found to play a role in the dehydration process as well. The present study shows the potential of interface studies for elucidating dehydration pathways at the atomic scale, and offers various starting-points for follow-up studies.Engineering Thermodynamic
Poéticas encruzilhadas: José Craveirinha, Solano Trindade e GOG
This paper aims to reflect the extent to which the poetics of José Craveirinha, Solano Trindade and Genival Oliveira Gonçalves (known as GOG) claim discursive places that mark a literary identity that runs themes not as established by traditional literary studies. Thus, a book will be reviewed (but not all poems) of each author, namely: Xigubo, Anthologies Poems and Rima Denounces respectively. It can be said that the relations between literature and society foster speaks of places whose representations always signal power relations. Also, think about the production of these poets means tension consecrated conceptions of literary and make the political role of the writer in relation to the discussions on national identity and the deletion and/or folklorization the black image. There is interest here to think about these texts and their possible aesthetic signs, as well as how the language in them sets up body as a mechanism of identity expression and ancestry. These authors evoke discursive places that historically have been deleted by the colonial process, which further enhances the interest of this research to confront the injunctions strategies used by the writers here referred to escape the evil colonial heritages that produces in the Diaspora which Fanon calls mental slavery. Thus, it is expected that the exercise proposed here works as an epistemological challenge, literary and political, so that ethnic and racial studies and the teaching of history and African culture and Black-Brazilian are increasingly deepened.O presente trabalho tem como objetivo pensar em que medida as poéticas de José Craveirinha, Solano Trindade e Genival Oliveira Gonçalves (mais conhecido como GOG) reivindicam lugares discursivos que demarcam uma identidade literária que percorre temas não tão consagrados pelos estudos literários tradicionais.
A Theme of a Book as an Inspiration for an Author Performance
In this diploma thesis I´m trying to describe a process of working on an author
performance inspired by a book, threw analysis of my own author performance called Gog.
In the introductory chapter I try to outline some similarities between working on a
screenplay, as Jean-Claude Carriere speaks about it in his book Telling a story and working on a performance, if we are two, we are directors, actors, dramaturgists and we are inspired by a book.
In next chapters I speak about the theme and the form of the book Gog, and afterwards
I describe in detail what interested us and which main theme we chose for our performance.
In the main part of this thesis I describe in detail the process of rehearsing different parts
of the performance and I analyze themes that are present. Here I mention extracts from the book Gog and I describe how the text and the theme influenced our way of rehearsing and our way of choosing expression agens. I describe in detail our searching. I mention how we approached to the move, spoken word, animation and projection tasks that were our ways of expression. Afterwards I try to think about the balance of organizing different elements in the performance. Last part of this chapter is dedicated to elements of performance such a scenography, costume, music.
Next chapter I address to telling a story as an important element of communication
and sharing not only in theater. I am thinking about ways to communicate and about forms of telling a story. In next part of this chapter I aim to compare the attributes and possibilities of a literary work and theatre with regard to the book as an important element for our creative process.
In the penultimate chapter, which has three parts, I describe in detail the theme of
creation, subsequently: I reflect the collaboration in a couple, the experiences acquired during the process. I gather some unwritten rules from my experience connecting my thoughts with citations from the book of Jean-Claude Carriere. In the next part I speak more in detail about the working process and switching roles of actor and director. Afterwards I mention the importance of a feedback from somebody outside of the process, as a dramaturgical help and I mention some examples. In the last part of this chapter I analyze a question of style in author work and I try to speak about my own opinions about style.
In the conclusion I mention my view of a performance as an entity, which lives its
own life and I am thinking about some potential aspirations of my work. I appreciate the
freedom in creativity and I mention that all this takes along a big responsibility
Health-related quality of life in the ENDEAVOR study: carfilzomib-dexamethasone vs bortezomib-dexamethasone in relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma
We examined effects of carfilzomib-dexamethasone (Kd56) versus bortezomib-dexamethasone (Vd) on health-related quality of life (HR-QoL) in relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (MM) patients from the ENDEAVOR study. HR-QoL was assessed by the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer QoL Questionnaire (QLQ-C30), MM-specific module (QLQ-MY20), and Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy/Gynecologic Oncology Group-Neurotoxicity (FACT-GOG-Ntx) “Additional Concerns” neurotoxicity subscale. The QLQ-C30 Global Health Status (GHS)/QoL scale and seven prespecified subscales were compared between groups using mixed model for repeated measures. Of 929 randomized patients, 911 with ≥1 post-baseline assessment were included. Kd56 was associated with statistically significant improvements in GHS/QoL, fatigue, pain, side effects, and FACT/GOG-Ntx scores versus Vd, although mean differences did not meet thresholds for clinical significance. The Kd56 group had longer time to deterioration (TTD) in GHS/QoL (median 3.7 versus 2.8 months, p = 0.0046), physical function (5.6 versus 3.7 months, p = 0.0390), nausea/vomiting (17.6 versus 8.2 months, p = 0.0358), side effects (6.4 versus 3.7 months p < 0.0001), and FACT/GOG-Ntx (11.1 versus 5.5 months, p = 0.0004). Overall, Kd56 resulted in statistically but not clinically significant improvements in mean GHS/QoL scores versus Vd. Treatment with Kd56 versus Vd also significantly prolonged TTD in GHS/QoL, physical function, nausea/vomiting, side effects, and FACT/GOG-Ntx. © 2019, The Author(s)
