The interview considers the question of acceleration from a personal and political perspective, Antoine Chollet being the author of works on the question of democratic temporality and direct democracy. Beginning with the regime of historicity that is a feature of democracy and of its fundamental unpredictability, what could be called the creative character of democratic time, one arrives at the work of Hartmut Rosa, debated and criticised for being depoliticized, minimizing the position of fundamental political changes, particularly that of revolution. In these times of political awakening, in a situation already quite removed from that of 2005, the publication year of Rosa’s Acceleration, discussion then moves to the Accelerationist Manifesto, and to the critique that Antoine Chollet makes of it wanting us to see how much the idea of acceleration entails tensions

Loïc Chollet is one of a number of those scholars who made (very) good use of Paravicini’s masterpiece. By choosing to focus on the literary side of the crusading story, he has sought to kill two birds with one stone. Generally, the material is marshalled in chronological order, and the respective literary works are taken into consideration along the way in presenting the main historical developments. The reader starts the journey from the modest beginnings of the crusades in the north of Europe in the late 12th century, then climbs up to reach the pinnacle of crusading military and literary activities in the 14th century, and, after having passed the turning point of the Battle of Tannenberg (1410), enjoys a comfortable descent into the lush meadows of cultural memory, where the din of battle reverberated long after the heroes of the actual fighting and romance had been laid to rest in peace. The 300-year-long story presented by Chollet reflects faithfully the vicissitudes of crusading, the most salient feature of which may rightly be seen in the volte-face of the Lithuanians, from the target of the crusades in their pre-conversion life, to their post-conversion role as welcomed allies in the pan-European crusade scheming against yet another infidel in the guise of Tatars and Turks (especially pp. 311–331). In the first place, francophone students will be thankful to the author for providing them with up-to-date coverage of crusading activities in the north. [...
Analysis Of Polyaniline Films Using Atomic Force Microscopy
This work presents a morphological study of polyaniline (PANI) films, chemically and electrochemically synthesised over ITO (Indium Tin Oxide covered glass) substratum using atomic force microscopy (AFM). From AFM images we calculate the fractal dimension of the polyaniline formed films using power spectral density (PSD) and the box counting method (roughness versus scale). As a result it is shown that the fractality obtained by PSD are in good agreement with box counting.374191200Gonzalez, R.G., Wintz, P., (1987) Digital Image Processus, , Addison-Wesley, ReadingVatel, O., Dumas, P., Chollet, F., Salvan, F., André, E., Roughness assessment of polysilicon using power spectral density (1993) Jpn. Measuring and fostering engagement with mental health e-coaches
This preprint follows ACM policy: “Authors who publish with ACM have the freedom to post peer-reviewed pre-print
versions of their papers to personal websites and institutional repositories. They can add a single-click link to their final
published papers, and re-use any portion of their published work with the inclusion of a citation and DOI link. Authors
can also post on any repository legally mandated by the agency funding the research on which the work is based, and on
any non-commercial repository or aggregation that does not duplicate ACM tables of contents/substantially duplicate
an ACM-copyrighted volume or issue” (https://authors.acm.org/author-resources/author-rights.)Mental health e-coaches and technology-delivered services are showing considerable benefits to
foster mental health literacy, monitor symptoms, favour self-management of different mental health
conditions and scaffold positive behaviours.
However, adherence to these systems is usually low and generally declines over time. There exists a
recent body of work addressing engagement with mental health technology with the aim to understand
the factors that influence sustained use and inform the design of systems that are able to generate
sufficient engagement to attain their expected results.
This paper explores the different facets of engagement in mental health e-coaches, including aspects
related to the estimation of system use from log data, effective engagement, user experience, motivation,
incentives, user expectations, peer support and the specific challenges of technologies addressed
to mental health. This research has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under

Comparative analysis of Vibrio splendidus related strains isolated during Crassostrea gigas mortality events
French mollusc production is based mainly on the Pacific cupped oyster, Crassostrea gigas. Since 1991, annual mass mortality of juveniles has been reported during summer months. These recurring episodes concern professionals who fear that like Portugese oyster, C. angulata, C. gigas could in turn disappear following one of these epizooties. Previously, bacteriological analysis of moribund oyster juveniles yielded an isolate of a Vibrio splendidus biovar II strain, named TNEMF6. This isolate was demonstrated to be pathogenic to Crassostrea gigas spat by experimental challenge. To study the association between summer oyster mortality and presence of TNEMF6 cluster strains, Vibrionaceae fauna were isolated from infected spat along the French Atlantic coast between 1997-1998. Strains related to V. splendidus biovar II were selected. Comparison with TNEMF6 was performed by classical biochemical tests and polymerase chain reaction - restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) of SSU rDNA, rpoD, and gyrB genes. Genomic similarities were confirmed by DNA/DNA hybridization. Only one strain out of 14, TNNIII7, was found to be closely related to the pathogenic bacteria. Neither the phenotypic nor the genotypic markers used in this study were able to distinguish pathogenic from non-pathogenic strains of the widespread V. splendidus. However, future genetic comparisons of TNEMF6 and TNNIII7 is likely to reveal genes involved in pathogenicity.
Episodic encoding is more than the sum of its parts: An fMRI investigation of multifeatural contextual encoding
Episodic memories are characterized by their contextual richness, yet little is known about how the various features comprising an episode are brought together in memory. Here we employed fMRI and a multidimensional source memory procedure to investigate processes supporting the mnemonic binding of item and contextual information. Volunteers were scanned while encoding items for which the contextual features (color and location) varied independently, allowing activity elicited at the time of study to be segregated according to whether both, one, or neither feature was successfully retrieved on a later memory test. Activity uniquely associated with successful encoding of both features was identified in the intra-parietal sulcus, a region strongly implicated in the support of attentionally mediated perceptual binding. The findings suggest that the encoding of disparate features of an episode into a common memory representation requires that the features be conjoined in a common perceptual representation when the episode is initially experienced
The pricing of French unit seasoned equity offerings
Units are bundles of common stock and warrants. By issuing units, firms precommit to a future and uncertain seasoned offering at the exercise price of the warrants. This study shows that the issuance of units seasoned offerings in France is accompanied by significant abnormal returns of on average 9-12%, depending on the computing methods. Underpricing increases with the risk of the issuer and the relative size of the future seasoned equity issue linked to warrant exercises. Our results are consistent with our signaling hypothesis.
