Coxeter categories and quantum groups
We define the notion of braided Coxeter category, which is informally a monoidal category carrying compatible, commuting actions of a generalised braid group B_W and Artin’s braid groups B_n on the tensor powers of its objects. The data which defines the action of B_W bears a formal similarity to the associativity constraints in a monoidal category, but is related to the coherence of a family of fiber functors. We show that the quantum Weyl group operators of a quantised Kac–Moody algebra U_{\hbar }{{\mathfrak {g}}}, together with the universal R-matrices of its Levi subalgebras, give rise to a braided Coxeter category structure on integrable, category {\mathcal {O}}-modules for U_{\hbar }{{\mathfrak {g}}}. By relying on the 2-categorical extension of Etingof–Kazhdan quantisation obtained in Appel and Toledano Laredo (Selecta Math NS 24:3529–3617, 2018), we then prove that this structure can be transferred to integrable, category {\mathcal {O}}-representations of {\mathfrak {g}}. These results are used in Appel and Toledano Laredo (arXiv:1512.03041, p 48, 2015) to give a monodromic description of the quantum Weyl group operators of U_{\hbar }{{\mathfrak {g}}}, which extends the one obtained by the second author for a semisimple Lie algebra
Identifying the main constructs for an interdisciplinary workplace management framework
This second book in the series focuses on the role of workplace management in the organization and the tasks that workplace management needs to consider. The 18 theories that are presented in this book and applied to workplace research discuss management aspects from the organization’s perspective or dive deeper into issues related to people and/or building management. They all emphasize that workplace management is a complex matter that requires more strategic attention in order to add value for various stakeholders. The final chapter of the book describes a first step towards integrating the presented theories into an interdisciplinary framework for developing a grand workplace management theory.Design Conceptualization and Communicatio

Multi-cultural Supervision: Theory and Practice - An Integrative Approach
To practice multi-cultural supervision creatively means to enable experiences of the other to emerge. How-ever, it is clear that supervision cannot be a substitute for therapy as the ideal safe place for this. When we talk about cultural differences between supervisor and supervisee we say that one of them is bi-cultural: the culture of the heritage and the culture of the actual social world mix in one person. My own experience of becoming bi-cultural somehow forced me to a new cultural identity. The paper of Sapriel and Palumbo (2001) is a good example of how these two authors were able to understand their culture and its implications for their therapeutic work. Lolita Sapriel and Dennis Palumbo present their personal history as their way into bi-lingualism and bi-culturism. In their added clinical vignettes we learn how their cultural context including their „Organisation Principles“ (Sapriel and Palumbo, 2001) is one of the contexts to find meaning with their clients. Sapriel and Palumbo illustrated „how cultural biases and specific familial dynamics can join in influencing both therapist’s and client’s organisation of experience, and the always present danger that the therapist’s assumptions about the patient (either of perceived social/cultural similarity or dissimilarity) can obscure the appreciation and investigations of the patient’s personal universe“ (p.95). They conclude that both „Gestalt therapy and intersubjectivity theory (a relational, psychoanalytic theory) are viewed as being ideally suited for cross-cultural application as they reject the notion of only ‚one truth‘, are contextual and field-theory based, and respect the phenomenology of subjective experience“ (p.86). This paper also confronts us with the existence of female and male cultural subworlds within a culture. The complexity of culture in its vitality within a person will have to be understood in relation to many other factors like social status, gender. etc.A german expression says that it is better to stand on both legs. I want to apply this to the field of cultural differences in supervision. The transmission of knowledge is a good leg to stand on. But it also needs emotional confrontation leading to experiences and awareness.https://www.fpi-publikation.de/supervision/11-2002-appel-opper-j-2002-multi-cultural-supervision/peerReviewedpublishedVersio
Uniqueness of Coxeter structures on Kac–Moody algebras
Abstract. Let g be a symmetrisable Kac–Moody algebra, and Ung the corresponding quantum group. We showed in [1, 2] that the braided Coxeter structure on integrable, category O representations of Ung which underlies the R–matrix actions arising from the Levi subalgebras of Ung and the quantum Weyl group action of the generalised braid group Bg can be transferred to integrable, category O representations of g. We prove in this paper that, up to unique equivalence, there is a unique such structure on the latter category with prescribed restriction functors, R–matrices, and local monodromies. This extends, simplifies and strengthens a similar result of the second author valid when g is semisimple, and is used in [3] to describe the monodromy of the rational Casimir connection of g in terms of the quantum Weyl group operators of Ung. Our main tool is a refinement of Enriquez’s universal algebras, which is adapted to the PROP describing a Lie bialgebra graded by the non–negative roots of g.<br/

Towards an interdisciplinary employee-workplace alignment theory
Many theories from different research disciplines apply to workplace design and management. This chapter describes a first attempt to integrate 21 of those theories into an overall employee-workplace alignment (EWA) framework, as a starting point towards developing a grand EWA theory. Through concept mapping, the tacit knowledge underlying each theory was made explicit in three to five statements that were sorted by 22 experts. By performing multidimensional scaling and cluster analysis, the statements were grouped into eight concepts that reflect the essence of the 21 theories within three regions of meaning: ‘Need-Supply Alignment’, ‘Cognition and Behaviour’, and ‘Organisational Context’. The framework created from the eight concepts connects the different theories in many ways. A further discussion of the three regions and underlying concepts of the framework, in relation to existing workplace research and theory, identifies many research gaps that need attention before the EWA theory can be fully developed. The chapter ends with implications for practice and some closing words for the entire book. © 2021 selection and editorial matter, Rianne Appel-Meulenbroek, Susanne Colenberg, and Vitalija Danivska.Peer reviewe
Evaluating the Impact of Virtual Reality on the Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia and Quality of Life of Inpatients With Dementia in Acute Care: Randomized Controlled Trial (VRCT)
Background:
Virtual reality (VR) is increasingly considered a valuable therapeutic tool for people with dementia. However, rigorous studies are still needed to evaluate its impact on behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSDs) and quality of life (QoL) across care settings.
Objective:
The primary aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of VR therapy on managing BPSDs, falls, length of stay, and QoL in inpatients with dementia admitted to an acute care hospital. The secondary aim was to evaluate the intervention’s feasibility in terms of acceptability, safety, and patient experience.
Methods:
A prospective, open-label, mixed methods, randomized controlled clinical trial was conducted between April 2019 and March 2020. A total of 69 participants (aged ≥65 years with a diagnosis of dementia and who did not meet the exclusion criteria) were randomly assigned to either the control (n=35, 51%) or VR (n=34, 49%) arm. Participants in the experimental (VR) arm were visited by a researcher and watched 360° VR films on a head-mounted display for up to 20 minutes every 1 to 3 days, whereas individuals in the control arm received standard of care. Instances of daily BPSDs and falls were collected from nurses’ daily notes. QoL was measured through semistructured interviews and the Quality of Life in Late-Stage Dementia scale. Structured observations and semistructured interviews were used to measure treatment feasibility. The primary outcomes were analyzed at a 95% significance level based on the intention-to-treat method.
Results:
VR therapy had a statistically significant effect on reducing aggressiveness (ie, physical aggression and loud vociferation; P=.01). Substantial impact of VR therapy was not found for other BPSDs (eg, apathy), falls, length of stay, or QoL as measured using the Quality of Life in Late-Stage Dementia scale. The average VR therapy session lasted 6.8 (SD 6.6; range 0-20) minutes, and the intervention was overall an acceptable and enjoyable experience for participants. No adverse events occurred as a result of VR therapy.
Conclusions:
Immersive VR therapy appears to have an effect on aggressive behaviors in patients with dementia in acute care. Although the randomized controlled trial was stopped before reaching the intended sample size owing to COVID-19 restrictions, trends in the results are promising. We suggest conducting future trials with larger samples and, in some cases, more sensitive data collection instruments.
