    Preparation of risk assessment and the role of protection and security engineers in it

    Cilj ovog završnog rada jest objasniti važnost dobre procjene rizika, poštivanja postavljenih mjera i uvjeta, te ulogu inženjera zaštite i sigurnosti u cijelom procesu izrade procjene rizika. Procjena rizika ima najveći utjecaj na sigurnost i radne uvjete svakog radnog mjesta. Kako bi procjena rizika bila kvalitetna i adekvatna za određeno radno mjesto, u procjenu se moraju uključiti i sami radnici koji svojim iskustvom pomažu inženjeru zaštite i sigurnosti da što kvalitetnije predvidi štetnosti, opasnosti, rizike i napore tog radnog mjesta. U izradi veliku ulogu imaju i mjerni uređaji koji inženjeru daju točne podatke o vrijednostima i parametrima koji pomažu u postavljanju granica i određivanju određenih uvjeta. Na kraju svake procjene rizika inženjer mora predstaviti paket mjera koje će smanjiti rizik i povećati kvalitetu rada.The goal of this studywork is to explain the importance of a good risk assessment, compliance with the set measures and conditions, and the role of the protection and safety engineer in the entire process of creating a risk assessment. Risk assessment has the greatest impact on the safety and working conditions of each workplace. In order for the risk assessment to be of high quality and adequate for a certain workplace, the workers themselves must be included in the assessment, who, with their experience, help the protection and safety engineers to predict the harms, dangers, risks and efforts of that workplace as well as possible. Measuring devices also play a significant role in manufacturing, which provides the engineers with accurate data on values and parameters that help set limits and determine certain conditions. At the end of each risk assessment, the engineer must present a package of measures that will reduce risk and increase the quality of work

    Tema ovog rada uvod je u Bayesovsko statističko zaključivanje. Nakon definicija osnovnih pojmova iz područja statistike i vjerojatnosti, naveden je i dokazan Bayesov teorem te je prikazana njegova uporaba na nekoliko primjera. Navedeni su osnovni elementi Bayesovskog zaključivanja, dana su objašnjenja pojmova apriorne i aposteriorne distribucije te je dana definicija funkcije vjerodostojnosti, a objašnjena je i njezina važnost. Navedene su različite distribucije koje su potkrijepljene primjerima, a navedeni su i primjeri Bayesovskog zaključivanja za binomnu, Poissonovu te normalnu razdiobu. Konačno, navedena je i usporedba Bayesove i klasične frekvencijske statistike.The topic of this graduate thesis is the introduction to Bayesian statistical inference. After the definitions of basic terms in the field of statistics and probability are given, the Bayesian theorem is proved and its use is shown on several examples. In the following chapters, the basic elements of Bayesian reasoning are given along with concept explanations of prior and posterior distributions. The credibility function is defined and its overall importance is explained. Different distributions are defined and explained along with examples, and different examples of Bayesian inference for binomial, Poisson and normal distribution are presented. The final chapter offers a comparison of Bayesian and classical frequency statistics

    Cilj ovog rada jest prikazati konstrukciju Lebesgueovog integrala i prednosti u odnosu na Riemannov integral. U tu svrhu smo, nakon kratkog uvoda, definirali izmjerive funkcije te naveli neka njihova osnovna svojstva. Zatim smo definirali mjeru i naveli njezina svojstva te smo konstruirali mjeru iz vanjske mjere. Nakon toga smo pogledali Lebesgueovu mjeru na euklidskom prostoru. Potom smo konstruirali Lebesgueov integral za jednostavne nenegativne funkcije, nenegativne funkcije, realne i kompleksne funkcije. Zatim smo proučili konvergenciju Lebesgueovog integrala. Na kraju smo naveli još neka dobra svojstva Lebesgueovog integrala u odnosu na Riemannov integral.The aim of this paper is to show the construction of the Lebesgue integral and its advantages over the Riemann integral. For this purpose, after a short introduction, we have defined measurable functions and listed some of their basic properties. After that, we defined the measure and listed its properties and constructed the measure from an outer measure. Then we constructed Lebesgue measure in Euclidean space. We then constructed the Lebesgue integral for simple nonnegative functions, nonnegative functions, real and complex functions. Next, we investigated the convergence of the Lebesgue integral. Finally, we have listed some other good properties of the Lebesgue integral in relation to the Riemann integral

    Tema ovog diplomskog rada su geometrijske transformacije ravnine i njihova primjena. U prvom poglavlju nalazi se kratki povijesni pregled razvoja euklidske geometrije. Drugo poglavlje bavi se geometrijskim transformacijama ravnine, odnosno preslikavanjima ravnine. Sastoji se od šest potpoglavlja od kojih je u svakom definirana jedna trasformacija, navedena su i dokazana njena osnovna svojstva te prikazana primjena na dokazivanje teorema i rješavanje različitih zadataka. Redom su obrađene sljedeće tranformacije: translacija, centralna simetrija, osna simetrija, rotacija, homotetija i inverzija. Poseban naglasak stavljen je na homotetiju i inverziju.This graduate thesis focuses on plane geometric transformations and their applications. First chapter is about historical development of Euclidean geometry. Next chapter is about plane geometric transformations. It consists of six subchapters. In every one of them one geometric transformation is defined and proofs of its basic properties are given. Also, for every geometric transformation, its applications to some interesting theorems and geometric problems are presented. Following transformations are analyzed: translation, symmetry with respect to a center, symmetry with respect to an axis, rotation, homothety and inversion, with main emphasis on homothety and inversion

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Numerical analysis of metallographic preparation effect on the hardness of titanium alloy

    Legure titana zbog svojih dobrih svojstava imaju sve veću primjenu u biomedicini. Međutim, u svrhu poboljšanja određenih svojstava dizajniraju se legure na bazi titana s novim kemijskim sastavima. Kako bi se one mogle karakterizirati na zadovoljavajući način, prethodno moraju biti adekvatno pripremljene. Ispravna metalografska priprema ispitnih uzoraka je pretpostavka za kvalitetno promatranje, identificiranje te evaluaciju mikrostrukturnih značajki. Stoga se parametri brušenja i poliranja moraju odabrati tako da pripremljena površina uzorka bude reprezentativna. S obzirom na to da su za već poznate standardizirane legure ti parametri dobro poznati, kod razvoja novih, ali sličnih materijala, potrebno je utvrditi odgovaraju li ti uvjeti i za pripremu novih sastava. Ukoliko to nije slučaj, potrebno je naći optimalne parametre metalografske pripreme tih sastava. U ovom radu je 12 uzoraka eksperimentalne legure uloženo u epoksidnu masu radi lakšeg rukovanja. U svrhu utvrđivanja utjecaja metalografske pripreme varirana su dva najutjecajnija parametra: vrijeme i sila brušenja, dok je brzina rotacije brusne ploče bila konstantna. Nakon brušenja najvećom gradacijom brusnog papira, uzorci su promatrani pod svjetlosnim mikroskopom kako bi se utvrdilo stanje površine. Zatim im je određena tvrdoća, kao mehaničko svojstvo koje se najčešće ispituje pri karakterizaciji materijala, metodom po Vickersu različitim opterećenjima indentora. Nakon toga, uzorci su polirani u istim uvjetima, te im je ponovno određena tvrdoća. Dobivene vrijednosti tvrdoće numerički su analizirane te su utvrđene odgovarajuće funkcionalne ovisnosti izmjerene tvrdoće o parametrima brušenja (vrijeme i sila) te o sili utiskivanja indentora.Titanium alloys due to their good properties are increasingly used in biomedicine. However, in order to improve certain properties, titanium-based alloys with new chemical compositions are designed. In order to be characterized in a satisfactory manner, they must first be adequately prepared. Proper metallographic preparation of test specimens is a prerequisite for quality observation, identification and evaluation of microstructural features. Therefore, the grinding and polishing parameters must be selected so that the prepared sample surface is representative. Given that these parameters are well known for already known, standardized alloys, in the development of new but similar materials it is necessary to determine whether these conditions are suitable for the preparation of new compositions. If this is not the case, it is necessary to find the optimal parameters of metallographic preparation of these compositions. In this paper, 12 samples of experimental alloy were embedded in the epoxy mass for easier handling. In order to determine the influence of metallographic preparation, the two most influential parameters were varied: grinding time and force, while the speed of rotation of the grinding wheel was constant. After grinding with the highest gradation of grind paper, the samples were observed under a light microscope to determine the condition of the surface. Then their hardness was determined, as a mechanical property that is most often tested in the characterization of materials, by the Vickers method with different indenter loads. After that, the samples were polished under the same conditions, and their hardness was determined again. The obtained hardness values were numerically analyzed and the corresponding functional dependences of the measured hardness on the grinding parameters (time and force) and on the indenter indentation force were determined

    Variations on the Author

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
