CTU101 Hafazan Interactive Memorization (HIM) / Syaimak Ismail, Muhammad Saiful Islam and Aemy Aziz
Hafazan Interactive Memorization (HIM) CTU101 is a product of an interactive memorization application that able to assist students in order to complete their hafazan assessment. Fundamental of Islam course with code CTU101 is a core subject of university that compulsory to be taken by all diploma students at UiTM. In order to achieve a good carry mark, one of the assessments is to memorize 1-20 verses of Surah Yasin for acquiring 20 marks. However, students reach the difficulties to fulfil this assessment due to weak memorization the verses of the surah for several reasons; first, time restriction to complete the task, second, students’ profile not considered as a huffaz. Third, students considered this assessment as an obstacle. Upon on these issues, Hafazan Interactive Memorization (HIM) was introduced to overcome the students’ problem in memorization. Researchers have created an interactive application to test students' memorization and make it easier for them to improve memorization of surah. Based on the survey as tested, the findings indicated students able to achieve high score and managed to memorize with flying colours after using this application. The novelty of this product is i) fun games memorization, ii) enhance a new method of hafazan through HIM, iii) Easy to access and very comprehensive. The benefits of HIM are i) potential tools in monitoring students’ assessment for hafazan ii) Potential tools for assist the lecturer in assessing students’ progress in hafazan assessment, iii) it can be share, apply, adapt, and develop in others organization i.e., university, schools etc. with the same interests
History learning with TikTok (HLTT) / Syaimak Ismail, Aemy Aziz and Muhammad Saiful Islam
History is not the favourite subject of the young generation today. History is considered an uninteresting subject and not necessary to learn. However, the subject of history remains a compulsory subject to be studied in all IPTA and IPTS in Malaysia, such as Malaysia Studies, Ethics and Civilization, and Ethnic Relations. In fact, students will not be able to graduate if they fail this subject. Accordingly, researchers look for solutions to assist students in improving their understanding of history. In this study, researchers use TikTok as a medium to teach history. The videos used are simple and easy to understand. The lecturer will share a short TikTok video that lasts 3 to 5 minutes after teaching a topic. The video includes a summary of the topic that was studied. This TikTok video's explanation assists students in better understanding history. The content of this TikTok is simple to understand due to the use of simple language, interesting writing, interesting visuals, and background music that students enjoy. This research uses a survey method to get students' answers on whether this medium of TikTok is suitable to be used to convey historical information or otherwise. The results of the study found that TikTok is a medium that is easy to understand and suitable for teaching and learning history. At the same time, through the medium of video, TikTok is able to focus on students and help them understand student content such as ethical history and civilization topics that are considered boring and uncritical. Therefore, teaching and learning through this TikTok video is able to add additional value to the delivery of lesson content and attract students to focus on the discussion topics that will be highlighted in class
Konsepsi Islami dalam korpus sastera / Mohd Zuhdi Ismail, Muhammad Saiful Anuar Yusoff and Muhamad Luqman Ibnul Hakim Mohd Saad
Kajian ini mengetengahkan korpus konsep Sastera Islami. Dalam menyepadukan Sastera Islami yang
domain, konsep ini perlu disepadukan bersesuaian dengan arus kemajuan tanpa meninggalkan komponen penting
nilai-nilai Islam. Ia adalah kajian kepustakaan dengan mengetengahkan realiti yang berlaku selaras dengan
tasawur Islami. Metodologi kajian ini tertumpu pada metode komparatif serta pengamatan nilai Islami yang
tercerna daripada ajaran Islam. Sastera Islami terhasil dari pelbagai aspek kesusasteraan, sama ada tema, ciri
estetik, karya, karyawan dan sebagainya. Justeru, keselarasan aspek-aspek di atas amat penting agar model atau
kerangka genre sastera tidak tersasar daripada Islam dan norma-normanya, serta tidak dimanipulasikan oleh
sesetengah golongan yang mencalarkan imej Islam. Kesimpulan yang dapat dirumuskan dalam kajian ini
menunjukkan konsep Sastera Islami tulen berteras nilai yang terdapat dalam Islam perlu diterapkan dalam

Ilmu merupakan suatu pengetahuan yang meliputi pelbagai aspek bidang kajian yang diperolehi oleh seseorang sama ada melalui tindakan belajar atau di p erolehi melalui pengal aman. Ilmu juga merupakan pengetahuan yang meliputi perkara yang berasaskan hukum syarak, hubungan manusia dengan Allah, hubungan manusia dengan alam, hubungam manusia dengan manusia dan ilmu dalam kehidupan seharian. Antara lain ilmu juga berbentuk umum yang meliputi perkara yang berkaitan dengan hal-hal keduniaan dan akhirat untuk dimanfaat oleh manusia dalam meneruskan kehidupan. Selain itu, ilmu jua mempunyai ilmu bersifat kebaikan dan ilmu yang bersifat digunakan untuk tujuan kejahatan. Justeru itu, ilmu adalah meliputi ilmu fardu ain dan fardu kifayah yang perlu dituntut oleh setiap manusia. Kepentingan menuntut ilmu banyak diperkatakan di dalam dalil utama, iaitu al-Quran dan alSunah. Tuntutan untuk manusia mencari ilmu telah diterangkan dengan jelas dalam keduadua sumber tersebut. Namun begitu, pada masa kita manusia leka dan lalai dalam pencarian dan mendapatkan ilmu. Manusia seolah-olah mengabaikan tuntutan men untut ilmu yang telah dianjurkan dalam agama Islam. Oleh itu kajian ini akan membincangk an tentang kepentingan dan saranan menuntut ilmu menurut Islam berdasarkan dalil utama dengan membawa dalil dan hujah berkaitan tuntutan menuntut ilmu terhadap manusia. Metode kajian adalah menganalisis dalil-dalil dan saranan yang terdapat dalam Islam yang mengajak manusia mencari dan menuntut ilmu berdasarkan dalil utama, iaitu al-Quran dan as-Sunnah, serta membahaskan saranan tersebut berdasarkan pandangan cendiakawan Islam
Key principles and characteristics of an Islamic brand model with special reference to Islamic brand attire
Back in 2007, Islamic brands captivated the attention of marketing scholars. Most previous studies regarding Islamic brands adapted the conventional brand theories and models in examining Muslim consumers' behaviour towards a brand. The adaptation of the conventional brand theory is inappropriate to explain from the
Islamic point of view. Based on the call for the development of an Islamic brand, this study aimed to develop the Islamic brand model from the Islamic perspectives specifically in Islamic attire. Hence, the four objectives of this study were to: (a) explore the meaning of lslamic brand, (b) explore the characteristics of the Islamic brand,
(c) identify the characteristics of the Islamic principles in shaping the Islamic brand attire, and (d) investigate firms' current practice in the Islamic brand attire industry. A qualitative approach was employed to gather information for the study through: (a) literature review, (b) interviews [thirty four (34) Islamic experts and thirteen (13) firms], and (c) the observation method. The data analysis used the thematic analysis by applying the method of istidlal. The results demonstrate that: (a) the definition oflslamic brand should consist of three principals; aqidah, sharia, and akhlak, (b) there are three main characteristics in the Islamic brand, i.e. aqidah, sharia, and akhlak, (c) there are relationships between aqidah, sharia, and akhlak in shaping the Islamic brand, and (d) only a few firms comply with the Islamic brand core principles while the others are still based on the conventional brand value and aspiration. This research complements the conceptual contribution (new knowledge of definition, characteristics, and interaction between Islamic core
principles and Islamic brand attire) and the methodological contribution (epistemology and ontology from the Islamic perspective, and applying the method of istidlal in the thematic data analysis). Lastly, the findings can be used by Muslim and non-Muslim firms in designing the product
Examining the factors that influence customers' decision to choose Islamic hire purchase facility : A study of muslim customers in Kedah
Islamic hire purchase (IHP) facility is widely used by Islamic banks for car financing in Malaysia. Thus, this research was carried out to determine the factors that influence the customers’ decision to choose Islamic hire purchase facility in Kedah. A total of 105 customers on Islamic hire purchase in Kedah was selected as respondents of the survey questionnaire which was randomly distributed. The obtained data were analyzed using Ttest, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation and Multiple Regressions. The finding shows that
religious obligation, awareness, tenure and age significantly influence the customers’ choice for Islamic hire purchase. Since choosing Islamic hire purchase rests largely on these factors, Islamic banks must emphasis on religious values such as ethics and manners which are friendlier towards the customers. Islamic banks should expand their target market and increase the quality of performance through Islamic values in Islamic banking.
Last but not least, Islamic banks need to transparent and disclose all information to their customers to avoid misconception about Islamic hire purchase
Profit-Sharing Deposit Accounts in Islamic Banking: Analysing the Perceptions and Attitudes of the Malaysian Depositors
Islamic banking deposits are fundamentally structured in a different way than the conventional banking deposits. Each type of Islamic banking deposits, such as savings, demand, and timed deposits, is devised using the approved Shari’ah contracts such as qard, wadiah, murabahah, and mudarabah. These contracts are opposed to the conventional concepts, as they are based on the concept of a ‘lender-borrower’ relationship. In addition, the Shari’ah-approved contracts are unique as they feature a different nature of risk and return. This is especially the case for mudarabah contracts (henceforth referred to as profit-sharing contracts). The uniqueness of profit-sharing contracts in deposit products has been given due recognition in theory and also in practice, as most of the Islamic banks in Malaysia offered this product. In addition, the unique features and characteristics of profit-sharing based deposit accounts are also highlighted in the prudential standards issued by prominent regulatory bodies such as AAOIFI and IFSB which, have been adopted by the Bank Negara Malaysia (Central Bank of Malaysia).
Nevertheless, it is argued by many Islamic banks practitioners, especially in Malaysia, that the concept of profit-sharing in deposits products is not practical in reality, because the depositors do not behave according to, nor accept the principles that have been laid down in the Shari’ah. Thus it is argued that both the depositors and the Islamic bankers have treated the product similar to any other conventional banking deposits products.
The main aim of this study, hence, is to explore and examine the level of awareness, knowledge, perceptions, and attitude of the Islamic banking depositors in Malaysia towards characteristics of profit-sharing deposits accounts in accordance with the fundamental Shari’ah principles but also the regulations prevailing. In addition, this research also attempts to explore the significant determinant factors that encourage the depositors to engage with Islamic banking deposits accounts in general and profit-sharing deposits accounts in particular.
In fulfilling the aim of the study, primary data collection research was adopted through a survey questionnaire technique. The questionnaires were distributed to eight Islamic banks representing various types of Islamic banks in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. The questionnaire asked various pertinent questions, which intended to elicit the depositors’ opinions, perceptions, and attitudes towards the unique characteristics of profit-sharing contract as specified in Shari’ah muamalah principles. The characteristics among others are: (i) concept of uncertain deposits returns; (ii) concept of non-guarantee for the deposits; (iii) concept of profit equalization reserve. A total 649 of the returned questionnaires were complete and fit for analysis purpose. The data were analysed using various statistical analysis techniques ranging from simple frequency distribution analysis to the more advanced analyses such as non-parametric statistical analysis, factor analysis, and logistic regression.
In general, the results of the study show that the level of awareness of the need to have Islamic banking deposits accounts because of religious reasons is considered as high among the Malaysian depositors. Nevertheless, the results also indicate that a high level of awareness is not being translated into a high level of understanding concerning the objectives of the products which are structured in accordance to the Shari’ah-compliant contracts. This can be seen in the major findings of this study: the characteristics of profit-sharing contracts, which arguably are the most desirable Shari’ah-compliant contracts, are not acceptable to the depositors. This indirectly implies that they are still strongly influenced by the nature of conventional banking products. In addition, the logistics regression results further proved that related factors (‘financial services’ and ‘income’) emerged as the main determinants in creating demand for profit-sharing deposits accounts.
The results of the research should draw the attention of the Islamic bankers and also the regulators to finding ways for improving the level of understanding among the depositors. However, the critical successful factor in educating the depositors is highly dependent on the level of knowledge exhibited by the Islamic bankers themselves, which can be a real concern as highlighted by the findings of this study
Relationship between Islamic studies students’ knowledge of fiqh al-seerah and healthy living practices
While the saying ‘Health is wealth’ has long been acknowledged, its gravity has been particularly underscored following the global outbreak of the Coronavirus-19 disease (Covid-19), making health our utmost priority. Hence, understanding the way of life of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH, known in Islamic scholarship as Fiqh Al-Seerah, is necessary to learn about his healthful lifestyle practices. The purpose of this study was to ascertain the degree of knowledge regarding Fiqh Al-Seerah and the correlation between such knowledge and healthy living practices. Since the study was meant to represent the lifestyle patterns of the students, it was carried out using a sample of respondents from Sultan Ismail Petra International Islamic University College. Using a purposive sample of 49 respondents, the study used a quantitative methodology. The association between the two variables was examined using SPSS 20.0 and existing measures. For the variable “students’ knowledge of Fiqh Al-Seerah,” the mean is 5.240 with a standard deviation of 0.4258, while for the variable "healthy lifestyle,” the mean is 3.5814 with a standard deviation of 0.42027. The Pearson correlation between students’ knowledge of Fiqh Al-Seerah and healthy lifestyle is 0.444, and the p-value for this correlation is 0.003, indicating statistical significance. This highlights the importance of Islamic education, more specifically, the importance of Islamic history. This finding emphasizes the potential contribution of Islamic education to the promotion of holistic well-being since religious knowledge can inspire people to lead healthier lives

Zakat merupakan salah satu rukun dalam rukun Islam yang diwajibkan ke atas semua umat Islam untuk menunaikannya. Kutipan dan agihan zakat merupakan perkara yang penting dalam sistem pengurusan zakat di setiap pusat zakat negeri. Pusat pengurusan zakat negeri Kelantan terletak di bawah kelolaan Majlis Agama dan Adat Istiadat Melayu Kelantan (MAIK) yang mendapat kuasa sepenuhnya daripada Sultan Kelantan dan merupakan satusatunya organisasi yang menguruskan zakat di negeri ini. Agihan harta amat di galakan dalam Islam. Hal ini kerana melalui agihan yang di jalankan mampu meningkatkan taraf kehidupan dan perbelanjaan golongan yang memerlukan. Oleh itu agama Islam telah menyediakan pelbagai mekanisma agihan bagi membantu golongan yang memerlukan. Antara bentuk mekanisma agihan yang terdapat di dalam islam adalah melalui agihan zakat. Oleh itu kajian ini di jalankan untuk menganalisis program pengagihan zakat dalam kalangan asnaf di negeri Kelantan dan golongan asnaf yang bersasar. Kajian juga akan membincangkan bentuk agihan dan bantuan yang di sediakan kepada golongan asnaf dan jumlah peruntukan yang diberikan kepada golongan yang layak mendapatkannya. Metodologi kajian ini menggunakan kaedah temubual dan analisis data. Hasil perbincangan dan temubual yang dilakukan dan hasil kutipan data yang diperolehi akan di analisis bagi memenuhi objektif di dalam kajian

Emas merupakan perhiasan yang sangat menarik perhatian setiap wanita. Emas melambangkan nilai kekayaan dan perhiasan yang bersifat mewah kepada setiap manusia. Emas juga menjadi keinginan dan dambakan oleh setiap wanita kerana emas itu mampu menjadikan seseorang itu menjadi menarik dan menawan. Sifat emas yang mempunyai nilai yang tinggi dan reka bentuk yang menarik membuatkan setiap wanita inginkannya untuk di jadikan perhiasan mereka dan di pakai oleh mereka kemana-mana. Namun begitu, sifat emas sebagai barangan bernilai ini telah meletaknya sebagai salah satu harta yang di kenakan zakat di dalam islam. Zakat emas di kenakan kepada setiap pemiliknya di bawah kategori zakat harta. Hal ini kerana sifat emas yang bernilai dan bersifat barangan mewah itu menjadikannya sebagai salah satu kategori harta yang di kenakan zakat keatasnya. Zakat emas itu terlaksana sama ada emas yang di miliki tersebut di simpan atau emas itu di pakai sebaagi perhiasan wanita apabila mencukui syarat yang telah di tetapkan. Zakat ini merupakan salah satu tuntutan kepada umat islam yang berharta kerana zakat merupakan tuntutan dalam rukum islam yang ketiga iaitu kita wajib mengeluarkan sebahagian harta yang bukan milik kita kepada golongan yang layak mendapatkanya. Oleh itu kajian ini akan membincangkan tentang kesedaran di kalangan wanita tentang tuntutan membayar zakat emas perhiasan yang telah di gunakan oleh mereka
