análise do fenômeno educacional, o autor, vem historicamente considerando as questões
perspectiva histórico-crítica, pois o autor analisa o fenômeno educacional considerando as
This study, which has object the investigation of curriculum conception in the academic
production of Dermeval Saviani, starts from the presupposition that education plays a crucial
role in the development of humanity: to transmit the historical legacy built by previous
generations to future generations. Considering the level of development of the historical-critical
pedagogical proposal in the context of pedagogical ideas, their character against hegemonic and
the recognized importance of the work of Dermeval Saviani occupies in the Brazilian
educational context seek to investigate the existence of a curriculum conception in the works
of this author, which once found through its preliminary reading, we tried to identify the level
of development of this curriculum design and what are the contributions (possibilities) and
limits (reality) to think the curriculum of basic education with a view to education needed to
transition. The following hypoteses were raised: 1) There is the work of Dermeval Saviani
elaborations about a curriculum conception that indicate real possibilities to think the
curriculum of basic education, aiming at the education necessary to transition to socialism given
that this lies between critical educational theories of historical materialist dialectic theoretical
base, whose task is to overcome both the illusory power (that characterizes the non-critical
theories) as the impotence (arising from critical-reproductivist theories) educational theories;
2) Possibly the work of Dermeval Saviani contributes to the discussion about the curriculum of
basic school advance because, for the analysis of the educational phenomenon, the author, has
historically considering the issues of educational philosophy, structure and educational politics,
history education and pedagogical theory. We defend the thesis that there is a curriculum
conception in the work of Dermeval Saviani and that this indicates real possibilities to think the
curriculum of basic school in the historical-critical perspectivebecause the author analyzes the
educational phenomenon considering questions relating to philosophy of education, structure
and educational politics, history of education and pedagogical theory, and in this way, a
consistent support for confronting the the school curriculum emptying in capitalist society. To
achieve the proposed objective, we base ourselves on historical materialist dialectic theory, as
this gives us greater possibilities of apprehending the real radically, constituting a theoretical
instrument for explain reality and face the problems that this puts us. Were analyzed 29 articles,
06 books and 07 book chapters, totaling 42 documents produced by the author. Was possible to
systematize representative frames of a dynamic curriculum backed up in the historical-critical
pedagogy, deepening elements on how to treat knowledge, school organization and
normatization, especially with regard to the principles for selection and to treat knowledge in
this perspective
Root nodule bacteria isolated from Lotus uliginosus for future use in phytostabilization of arsenic contaminated soils
Funding Information: This work was supported by the cooperation project between Portugal and Argentina: 'The genus Lotus and their utilization for the restoration of soils contaminated with heavy metals. The biochemistry and their symbionts', FCT/DREBM 00264, Proc. 4.1.3 and also by the European project: 'Raising the bio-based industrial feedstock capacity of marginal Lands (Margin Up)', nº101082089. Publisher Copyright: © 2023 by the author(s).In recent decades there has been growing concern around heavy metals and metalloid contamination in soil. Arsenic (As) is a ubiquitous trace metalloid. The high levels of this metalloid in soils are a consequence of human activities and also from natural inputs. In general, the biodiversity of microorganisms and plants decreases drastically in contaminated soils. The knowledge that some leguminous plants, mainly certain species of Lotus, are growing well in such soils has attracted our attention for studying symbioses that are well adapted to harsh conditions. In this work we studied the rhizobial population existing in the root nodules of native Lotus uliginosus Sch. growing in a central region of Portugal. This legume grows in soils particularly affected by As due the discharge of industrial liquid effluents from fertilizer and chemical facilities. Diversity and tolerance to different concentrations of As of root nodule bacteria were studied. Our results showed that the symbioses between L. uliginosus and As tolerant Bradyrhizobium isolates were efficient when a nutrient medium containing high As concentrations was used. The present work highlights the capacity of L. uliginosus to grow and establish nitrogen-fixing symbioses in soils strongly contaminated with As and its potential for future use to promote vegetation cover to stabilize As contaminated soils.publishersversionpublishe
On the Achievable Rates of OFDM with Common Phase Error Compensation in Phase Noise Channels
This paper considers the problem of analytically assessing the maximum achievable rates (capacity) of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) transmissions when the receiver, for complexity reasons, only accounts for the common phase error (CPE) effect due to phase noise impairments with inter-carrier interference (ICI) treated as noise. By recognizing that the functional form of the CPE with respect to the phase noise realization is actually a free design parameter, determination of the capacity is posed as a functional optimization problem with respect to the, so-called, CPE function. A simple lower bound of the capacity is obtained, revealing the performance degradation due to the unknown CPE at the receiver, as well as the suboptimal performance achieved in severe phase noise conditions by the conventional CPE function that is routinely employed in previous works. The existence of an optimal number of subcarriers that balances the effects of the (unknown) CPE and ICI is highlighted and critical system design/operation issues, such as selection of the CPE function and effect of unknown channel on the achievable rate, are discussed. The analysis in this paper can be employed for determining the suitability of OFDM in phase noise channels and provides a tractable utility function for resource allocation purposes.Manuscript received October 7, 2016; revised February 10, 2017 and May 5, 2017; accepted May 6, 2017.
