Ergonomics participatory oppurtunities for occupational health enhancement in Malaysian SMIs / Isa Halim
No full textThe thesis consists of seven chapters represents a total of two years of effort . This thesis begins with an introductory chapter about Malaysian Small and Medium Industries (SMIs) and the roles of ergonomics participatory approach to enhance occupational health in this sector. After an introductory chapter, a critical literature review on ergonomics participatory approach is provided in the second chapter. Chapter three has been devoted to the essential detail of methodology and procedures undertaken in this research . A large number of well-labelled illustrations associated with clear explanation are provided to give the necessary insight of case study in chapter four. Chapter five presents the outcomes of the research together with the effectiveness of introduced solution. The summarization and conclusion of carried out research are rendered in chapter six. Finally, chapter seven suggests a few recommendations in order to make occupational health in Malaysian SMls become more feasible. References along with published papers are provided at the end of thesis which should be useful for those interested in studying further into specific aspects . Valuable suggestions and constructive criticism from numerous parties at various institutions have led to the preparation of this thesis. I am particularly thankful to Associate Professor Ir Dr Abdul Rahman Omar for having taken the pains to review major portions of the thesis and for giving useful suggestions for improvements . No full textA prosthesis works as an aid to help recover some of the lost functions of an amputated organic limb. This study focuses on the conceptual mechatronic design of a laboratory finger prosthesis which resembles both the key physical features and the grasping functionality of a middle adult finger by means of a new specification techniques, i.e. Systems Modeling Language (SysML). SysML is a general-purpose graphical modeling language that supports the analysis, specification, design, verification and validation of complex systems. These systems may include hardware, software, data, personnel, procedures, facilities and other elements of manmade and natural systems. SysML can represent systems, components and other entities such as structural composition, constraints on the physical and performance properties. The conceptual design of the prosthetic finger which is geared towards four essential characteristics: (i) anthropomorphically accurate size, (ii) kinematically accurate motion, (iii) hybrid actuation mechanism, and (iv) tactile sensory feedback. spread of Islam in Mandailing Natal. Sheikh Abdul Halim Khatib is a major
scholar figure who is quite well known in Mandailing Natal and its
surroundings. However, the role of Sheikh Abdul Halim Khatib in developing
the religion of Islam, especially in Purbabaru, the people there participated in
many recitations, and the people there were more active in religion. The
researcher aims to find out the historical process of the entry and
development of Islam in Mandailing Natal, the life of Sheikh Abdul Halim
Khatib and his role in the development of Islam in Mandailing Natal and the
writings of Sheikh Abdul Halim Khatib in spreading Islam in Mandailing. The
research that the author is doing is field research using historical research
methods, and this research was conducted in Purbabaru Village, Lembah Sorik
Marapi District, Mandailing Natal Regency, and the informants in this study
were Musthafawiyah alums who were considered more knowledgeable about
the role of Sheikh Abdul Halim Preacher. Sheikh Abdul Halim Khatib's

By understand the main property of natural gas and the characteristics of the compress gas, further detail design of the pressure vessels had been developed to give sufficient driving range as a Compress Natural Gas (CNG) and petrol usage vehicle. The pressure vessels had been designed accordance with Pressure Vessel ASME Code Section VIII Division 1 and are able to withstand pressure up to 130 bars. The pressure vessels is unfired type and also been fixed with thermocouple, temperature controller, pressure relief valve, heating rod and filling valve to meet the design requirement. This project is based on design and collective information. The main activities of this project are including technical aspects and the design requirement. From information gathered (Industrial visit + book reading), a discussion is made based to the design requirement and technology involved in Adsorbed Natural Gas (ANG). Finally, conclusions are made on the current status of the ANG technology and its future development

No full textRiset berikut punya tujuan agar mengetahui tingkatan kepuasan konsumen berdasarkan kinerja dan kepentingan pada Lapangan Futsal Persada Halim Jakarta Timur serta untuk mengetahui atribut apa yang menyebabkan kepuasan konsumen Lapangan Futsal Persada Halim Jakarta Timur.
Data yang diterapkan bersumber dari data primer yang didapati melalui angket penelitian yang dibagikan pada 86 responden sementara data sekunder didapat pada buku ilmiah atau sumber data lain yang berkaitan pada penelitian.
Metodologi riset yang dipakai oleh penulis ada deskriptif kulitatif. Untuk tekhnik analisis data, penulis menggunakan Importance Performance Analysis, Likert Score, table Anova dan grafik Kartesius untuk membuktikan atau mengetahui uji statistik.
Melalui penelitian ini dapat diketahui baik variabel kinerja dan kepentingan tingkat keakuratan data melalui table anova di peroleh Гn kinerja = 0,965 dan Гn kepentingan = 0,968. Dapat disimpulkan bahwasanya data alhasil pembagian angket yang dilaksanakan peneliti terhadap responden dikatakan sah.
Dari hasil nilai sikap, maka total sikap maksimal 287,59 serta nilai total sikap minimal 68,62. Dan presentase nilai sikapnya bernilai 88,48% lantaran hasil presentase nilai sikap melebihi daripada 80% oleh karenanya tingkatan kepuasan konsumen pada pelayanan lapangan futsal persada halim Jakarta Timur dikatakan sangat puas.
Dapat di tarik kesimpulan berlandaskan hasil riset yaitu atribut yang menjadi prioritas utama adalah tersedianya pendingin udara disetiap lapangan persada halim, terpasang beberapa CCTV di persada halim, karyawan persada halim memberikan pelayanan khusus jika ada kendala layanan, pertolongan karyawan persada halim kepada konsumen yang cidera pada saat bermain.
Saran yang dapat diberikan penulis, lapangan futsal Persada Halim sebaiknya terus mempertahankan tersedianya pendingin udara di setiap lapangan Persada Halim, terpasang beberapa CCTV di Persada Halim, karyawan Persada Halim memberikan pelayanan khusus jika ada kendala layanan, dan pertolongan karyawan Persada Halim kepada konsumen yang cidera pada saat bermain. Dengan tanda yang berada di kuadran kedua ini sepatutnya selalu dijaga layananya, lantaran telah selaras dengan keinginan para mahasiswa-mahasiswi. / Data using is source from primarily data obtain from research questionnaires distributed to 86 respondents while secondaries data is obtaining from book or others data source relate to research.

Perkembangan Staf oleh pihak pengurusan. Selain itu, kajian ini meninjau tahap
sokongan yang diberikan oleh pengarah atau ketua jabatan terhadap penglihatan
pensyarah dalam Program Perkembangan Staf. Seramai 80 orang pensyarah Politeknik
Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah (POLIMAS) yang merangkumi empat jabatan
telah terlibat dalam kajian yang dijalankan. Instrumen kajian ialah soal selidik dan datadata
yang telah diperoleh telah dianalisis menggunakan program SPSS versi 10.0 dan
Microsoft Excel digunakan untuk memudahkan penyiapan kajian. Hasil kajian
mendapati secara keseluruhannya pensyarah-pensyarah mendapati Program
Perkembangan Staf ini penting untuk meningkatkan profesionalisme mereka. Mereka
mengatakan pelaksanaan Program Perkembangan Staf berada di tahap yang rendah

Sustainability performance, ownership structures, and corporate financial stability of shariah-compliant companies in Malaysia / Mohamad Azwan Md Isa, Norashikin Ismail and Mohd Halim Kadri
No full textThe launching of the United Nation’s SDGs Agenda 2030 in 2015 has boosted sustainability practices among the corporate sectors. Since then, the studies related to corporate sustainability practices and financial performance have gained extensive interest among researchers and academics. Nonetheless, studies on the association between sustainability performance (SUSP) and corporate financial stability (CFS) are still scarce and the results remain inconclusive. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the association between the SUSP and CFS focusing on the Shariah-compliant companies in Malaysia. In addition, this study attempted to investigate the moderating roles of different forms of ownership structures on the SUSP-CFS nexus. Using balanced panel data from 2021 to 2023, the Fixed Effect models as suggested by the Hausman test, indicate that the SUSP has mixed association with CFS. In addition, concentrated ownership has a negative but insignificant influence on the CFS whilst managerial ownership shows positive but insignificant influences on the CFS. In terms of moderating roles, concentrated ownership indicates a weakening effect on the SUSP-CFS association whilst managerial ownership poses a strengthening effect on the SUSP-CFS association. This study benefits the management of companies, investors and policymakers as well as enriching the body of knowledge on sustainability-financial stability literature. The corporate sectors need to sustainability practices through ESG initiatives in their strategic planning. The investors have to support the corporate sustainability practices by taking into account the sustainability factors in their investment decisions. Policymakers are to play more attentive roles in encouraging the corporate sectors in their sustainability practices by providing efficient infrastructure, robust ESG frameworks, and effective incentive packages. With these concerted efforts, the global SDGs agenda can be materialized successfully besides ensuring the financial stability of the Shariah-compliant companies in Malaysi
The influence of hand tool design on hand grip strength: A review.
No full textHand is made up of bones, tendons, ligaments, nerves and blood vessels that can be easily debilitated and injured if the hand tool is not design ergonomically. Recently researchers have examined the effects of individual, environmental and occupational factors on hand grip strength. However, information on the influence of hand tool design on hand grip strength is still lacking. The aim of this paper is to provide a comprehensive review of factors influencing hand grip strength focusing more towards hand tool design factors. The authors searched the journal articles, book and guidelines from the online databases of Google Scholar, Science Direct and Pub med. Fourteen factors includes handle diameter, handle length, handle orientation, handle shape, handle material, handle flange, handle inter distance/grip span, grip method, tool weight, tool center of gravity, tool sharpness, trigger type and size, spring stiffness as well as vibration exposure were found to have significant effect on the hand grip strength.
