    Abstract There are three aspects of the meaningfulness of speech acts Nggahi Panati in procession Bima customary marriage proposal, namely the form of speech acts, cooperation aspects, and aspects of politeness. This study aims to determine the significance of the speech act in a procession Nggahi Panati Bima customary marriage proposal and its implications for the learning of local content in local language school. The results showed that the form of speech act category Nggahi Panati representative (states, states, and reporting), categorized directive (beg, ask, and urge), expressive category (praise, laud, and grateful), category commissive (promise and declare readiness ), and categorized declarative (grant and decide). The study concluded also that aspects of cooperation and aspects of speech acts Nggahi Panati in politeness very considered and prioritized by the speaker and hearer in speaking.     Islamic Education at Multicultural Schools

    This article aims to explain the roles of PAI (Pendidikan Agama Islam/Islamic Education) at multicultural schools. It was the results of the field research by using a qualitative method. The research was conducted at SMA (Sekolah Menengah Atas/Senior High School) Plus Pembangunan Jaya Bintaro Tangerang. The school was selected because its students had diversity of backgrounds, and the school had committed to develop the multicultural insights. Data of research were obtained through interview, observation, and documentation. The results showed that PAI had the roles as the pluralism moral activator to students. PAI was applied in the educational process to form students’ multicultural attitude and thought. There were two underlying findings, namely: type of inclusive educators and design of multicultural curriculum. </p

    This paper demonstrates that polluters not only refer to a company or individual but also includes government and society. In economic perspective, the impacts of economic activities on environment are considered externalities (external costs). In order to develop an environmentally friendly economic system, every economic activity needs to internalize the external costs as one of the components of production costs. In this regard, environmental economics plays an important role in valuing such externalities. Various policy instruments are also discussed in this paper in order to support sustainable environmental development. It is concluded that with no market distortion, market-based mechanism instrument is considered effective in protecting environment. If market distortion exists, however, regulation-based instrument is considered more effective

    Evaluating the pragmatic particle jâ’ in a Madurese spoken corpus

    In verbal interaction and communication, speakers often employ communicative signals; verbal or non-verbal, special words or phrases, which can be regarded as pragmatic markers (Fraser, 1996; Foolen 2011). This paper aims to investigate the Madurese pragmatic particle jâ’: its position in the sentence and in sequences of interaction, and how it functions in conversation. To achieve the objectives of the present study, conversation analysis was employed to describe the particle’s position in interaction and to account for its pragmatic functions. The data of the present study were taken from recorded conversations among Madurese speakers. This study showed that the particle jâ’ predominantly occurred in turn-initial positions. In addition, the particle jâ’ also appeared in sentence-initial and sentence-middle positions but not in sentence-final positions. In terms of function, the particle jâ’ could function as topic shifts, prohibitive markers, and emphatic markers

    This article explains the devolopment of Islamic education in Indonesia, especially in pesantren (Islamic Boarding School) which is salafi manhaj. It aims at finding islamic education model developed at salafi manhaj pesantren. It uses library research. This article concludes that salafi manhaj pesantren currently becomes new model of Islamic education in Indonesia. This model differs from those applied in most pesantrens in Indonesia. The factor triggering its development is the effect of the transnational of Islam. This factor can further complete the theory of Islamic education change in Indonesia proposed by Karel Steenbrink

    Pemberdayaan Yayasan Islamic Centre Dalam Meningkatkan Mutu Tahfiz Al-Qur’an Di Kalangan Siswa Islamic Centre Kota Medan

    Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui manajemen pemberdayaan, unsur-unsur pemberdayaan dan kendala-kendala pemberdayaan yang ada di Yayasan Islamic Centre dalam meningkatkan mutu tahfiz alqur’an di kalangan siswa islamic centre Kota Medan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif yang mendeskripsikan, menganalisis dan membuat interpretasi data. Alat pengumpulan data yang ditemukan melalui hasil observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa manajemen pemberdayaan yang dilakukan oleh Yayasan Islamic Centre dalam meningkatkan mutu tahfiz alqur’an siswa dengan cara melakukan perencanaan berupa target hafalan siswa dalam satu tahun minimal 5 juz. Untuk mencapai target yang telah dibuat oleh yayasan maka siswa wajib melakukan muraja’ah setiap harinya bersama guru dan sesama siswa, setelah siswa menjadi alumni Yayasan Islamic Centre mempunyai bekal dan potensi lebih, setidaknya menjadi imam masjid di masyarakat. Pelaksanaan dan pengendalian metode pemberdayaan yayasan islamic centre yang telah direncanakan tetap didampingi oleh guru-guru tahfiz alqur’an agar hafalan siswa menjadi lebih baik dan bermutu. Unsur-unsur pemberdayaan Yayasasan Islamic Centre itu terdiri dari Pengurus/pemimpin Yayasan, Guru-guru, Masjid, Siswa, dan Dana yang bisa diberdayakan dalam proses peningkatan mutu tahfiz Alqur’an siswa. Kendala yang terjadi di Yayasan Islamic Centre dalam meningkatkan mutu siswa/siswi tahfiz alqur’an, yaitu: kebanyakan bermain munculnya sifat malas pada diri siswa, kesulitan siswa dalam menghafal, kelelahan siswa ketika menghafal, kelupaan siswa terhadap ayat-ayat yang telah dihafal, dan kurangnya perhatian orang tua untuk muraja’ah hafalan anaknya dirumah
