    Interactive Rapid Dose Assessment Model (IRDAM): user's guide

    As part of the continuing emphasis on emergency preparedness the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) sponsored the development of a rapid dose assessment system by Pacific Northwest Laboratory (PNL). This system, the Interactive Rapid Dose Assessment Model (IRDAM) is a micro-computer based program for rapidly assessing the radiological impact of accidents at nuclear power plants. This User's Guide provides instruction in the setup and operation of the equipment necessary to run IRDAM. Instructions are also given on how to load the magnetic disks and access the interactive part of the program. Two other companion volumes to this one provide additional information on IRDAM. Reactor Accident Assessment Methods (NUREG/CR-3012, Volume 2) describes the technical bases for IRDAM including methods, models and assumptions used in calculations. Scenarios for Comparing Dose Assessment Models (NUREG/CR-3012, Volume 3) provides the results of calculations made by IRDAM and other models for specific accident scenarios

    The Interactive Rapid Dose Assessment Model (IRDAM) is a micro-computer based program designed to provide rapid assessments of the radiological impact of accidents at nuclear power plants. The main body of this document consists of 28 examples of IRDAM input and output, representing various types of accidents and releases. These examples are intended to provide a basis for comparison with other models or for testing IRDAM itself. Figures are included which show dose rates calculated by IRDAM for each scenario. Figures are also included which show calculations made using the computer codes WRAITH (Scherpelz, Borst and Hoenes, 1980) and RADPUR (Dabbert, et. al., 1982). This system, the Interactive Rapid Dose Assessment Model (IRDAM) is a micro-computer based program for rapidly assessing the radiological impact of accidents at nuclear power plants. This document describes the technical bases for IRDAM including methods, models and assumptions used in calculations. IRDAM calculates whole body (5-cm depth) and infant thyroid doses at six fixed downwind distances between 500 and 20,000 meters. Radionuclides considered primarily consist of noble gases and radioiodines. In order to provide a rapid assessment capability consistent with the capacity of the Osborne-1 computer, certain simplifying approximations and assumptions are made. These are described, along with default values (assumptions used in the absence of specific input) in the text of this document. Tujuan penelitian untuk membangun program sistem pakar untuk mengukur pencapaian kompetensi dasar mahasiswa pada mata kuliah teknik kendali digital, Pengembangan sistem ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC). SDLC itu sendiri dalam rekayasa perangkat lunak, adalah proses pembuatan dan pengembangan sistem serta model dan metodologi yang digunakan untuk mengembangkan sistem. Metode yang digunakan dalam sistem pakar ini adalah forward chaining (pelacakan ke depan) yaitu pelacakan dimulai dari sekumpulan fakta terlebih dahulu kemudian menuju pada suatu kesimpulan. Dalam membangun sistem ini penulis menggunakan bahasa pemrogramam PHP dan mysql sebagai software yang digunakan untuk menyimpan datanya. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem pakar memberikan hasil atau jawaban yang sangat baik untuk pengguna. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sebuah Sistem pakar pencapaian kompetensi dasar pada mata kuliah teknik kendali digital, yang dapat memberikan respon dan hasil respon secara online.     Deindustrialisation and the post-socialist mortality crisis

    An unprecedented mortality crisis struck Eastern Europe during the 1990s, causing around seven million excess deaths. We enter the debate about the causes of this crisis by performing the first quantitative analysis of the association between deindustrialisation and mortality in Eastern Europe. We develop a theoretical framework identifying deindustrialisation as a process of social disintegration rooted in the lived experience of shock therapy. We test this theory relying on a novel multilevel dataset, fitting survival and panel models covering 52 towns and 42,800 people in 1989–95 in Hungary and 514 towns in European Russia in 1991–99. The results show that deindustrialisation was directly associated with male mortality and indirectly mediated by hazardous drinking as a stress-coping strategy. The association is not a spurious result of a legacy of dysfunctional working-class health culture aggravated by low alcohol prices during the early years of the transition. Both countries experienced deindustrialisation, but social and economic policies have offset Hungary’s more immense industrial employment loss. The results are relevant to health crises in other regions, including the deaths of despair plaguing the American Rust Belt. Policies addressing the underlying causes of stress and despair are vital to save lives during painful economic transformations

    This paper examines the effects of one management control mechanism - namely, feedback control policy - on subordinates’ budgetary slack creation. This paper also investigates the interaction effect of feedback control policy and the personality trait of ‘need for achievement’ on budgetary slack. A laboratory experiment was conducted and a 2x2 analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to test the hypotheses formulated for this study. The independent variables were the feedback control policy and the personality trait of ‘need for achievement’. The dependent variable was budgetary slack. The results indicate that the presence of a feedback control policy reduces the budgetary slack created by managers under private information conditions. The results further reveal that managers with a high need for achievement create less budgetary slack than those with a low need for achievement, when feedback control policy exists

    Berdasarkan pengamatan dan data yang ada penulis melihat ada gejala atau hal yang membuat hasil belajar praktek membubut pada kelas XI belum mendapatkan hasil yang baik sehingga perlu ditingkatkan. Penelitian ini penulis melakukan penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan melaksanakan siklus pembelajaran yang dimulai dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, refleksi. Setelah dilaksanakan siklus pembelajaran 1 direfleksi ternyata pada siklus I hasil belajar praktek siswa baru mencapai 54% dan kekurangan yang ada pada siklus I untuk dilaksanakan pada siklus II. Setelah dilakukan siklus I ternyata telah memenuhi target yaitu siswa yang nilai 71 telah mencapai 87%. Dilihat dari akhir siklus 2 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa upaya peningkatan hasil belajar praktek siswa pembuatan arbor dengan metode pembelajaran langsung pada siswa kelas XI Program keahlian teknik pemesinan SMK Negeri 1 Bangkinang telah mencapai target yang diinginkan

    There are two main problems of population administration system in Indonesia. Firstly, population data is not well managed and overlapped among many government institutions. Secondly, many people do not possess population documents because they did not report any vital events that have been occurred in their family, such as birth, death, move in and move out. These problems then cause list of election voters (DPT) in 2009 general election (Pemilu) are not valid. This study would like to know geographic maps of people that do not possess population documents by province. In addition, this study also search factors affecting people that do not possess paper official identities, using logistic regression. The results show that out of six independent variables used in this study; age and education of head of household, distance to village office, village status (urban/rural), household income and number of household members, only distance to village office which is significant in influence people do not possess population documents
