La teoría literararia en el fin de siglo: panorama desde España
No full text[EN] This paper offers a panorama of the research in Literary Theory during the last quarter of the 20th century and the first years of the 21st. It does not intend to come to ultimate conclusions, but to offer a partisan vision of the topic. In the first part of the paper, the author gives a summary of the current «epistemologic crisis», followed by another summary of the post-structuralist trends. Regarding this first section, the author confronts some of the revolutionary theories in the current North American Scholarship to the more conservative
European Tradition. In this second section, there are three big differentiated areas: 1) The massive importance of the reading, analyzed under a Hermeneutic perspective and the importance of the Reception. 2) The return of the History and some of its problems, posing the notion of «canon» in the centre of the discussion, 3) The confluence of Poetics and Rhetoric in the Discourse dimension of the Language; this last section, whose fruitful
and live-to-day trajectory are described, provides the example of the Dramatology.[ES] Este artículo ofrece un panorama de la investigación en teoría literaria durante el último cuarto del siglo XX y primeros años del XXI, desde la situación de la disciplina en España. No establece el inabarcable estado de la cuestión, sino que propone una visión comprometida del mismo. Después de esbozar la crisis epistemológica que lo caracteriza y tomar partido en ella, se hace lo propio con el archipiélago post-estructuralista, en el que cabe contraponer algunas modas «críticas» de Norteamérica a una cierta tradición europea más propensa a la continuidad que a la ruptura. En esta segunda línea, se destacan las siguientes
tres grandes orientaciones: 1) el imperio de la lectura, con el sesgo hermenéutico y la importancia de la recepción; 2) la vuelta de la historia y sus problemas, como el canon, al centro de la discusión teórica; y 3) la convergencia en la dimensión discursiva de la poética y la retórica, cuya fecundidad y vigencia se defienden, y se ilustran con el ejemplo de la dramatología.Peer reviewe
Sexual initiation for heterosexual individuals in northern Chile
No full textThis article reports on a study conducted in northern Chile that examined first sexual intercourse and its characteristics, especially prevention of pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Using a psychosocial approach, the author assessed sexual initiation experiences of heterosexual men and women ages 18 to 69. Interviews showed that Chilean men constructed themselves as desiring subjects and women as without desire, reproducing cultural images of male and female sexuality. Women gave more importance to affection as a precondition for sex, although the number of women whose sexual initiation was motivated by curiosity has increased. The author found age synchronization of young Chilean men’s and women’s age at sexual initiation but, in contrast to trends in other Western countries, no greater early initiation in younger generations. La metáfora pictórica en el jardín de las delicias (1999) de violeta barrientos
No full textThis article undertakes a detailed analysis of the ekphrasis developed between the poetry collection El jardín de las delicias by Peruvian writer Violeta Barrientos, published in 1999, and the celebrated homonymous pictorial work by the Flemish painter Jheronimus Bosch, also known as Hieronymus Bosch. Barrientos’s poetic text not only appropriates the visual language of the painting but also reworks it in order to propose a renewed interpretation of the medieval imaginary. Through a sustained dialogue between the literary and the pictorial, the author constructs an interpretation grounded in the figurative field of metaphor, in which simile, allegory, and synesthesia play a central role. In this way, the text unfolds an alternative vision of the body, desire, and pleasure. To examine this creative and hermeneutic process, the concepts of General Textual Rhetoric will be employed, as our interest lies in identifying the functioning of rhetorical figures related to ekphrasis, insofar as this device operates in service of metaphor. Furthermore, the category of pleasure will be addressed through an approach that articulates queer studies with psychoanalysis, with the aim of deepening the understanding of how the work challenges and resignifies normative notions of sexuality and representations of the body.En este artículo se llevará a cabo un análisis detallado de la écfrasis que se desarrolla entre el poemario El jardín de las delicias de la escritora peruana Violeta Barrientos, publicado en 1999, y la célebre obra pictórica homónima del pintor flamenco Jheronimus Bosch, conocido también como el Bosco. El texto poético de Barrientos no solo se apropia del lenguaje visual de la pintura, sino que lo reelabora con el fin de proponer una lectura renovada del imaginario medieval. A través de un diálogo constante entre lo literario y lo pictórico, la autora construye una interpretación que se sustenta en el campo figurativo de la metáfora, donde el símil, la alegoría y la sinestesia adquieren un papel central. De este modo, se despliega una visión alternativa del cuerpo, el deseo y el placer. Para examinar este proceso creativo y hermenéutico, se tomarán como herramientas los conceptos de la Retórica General Textual, ya que nos interesa identificar el funcionamiento de las figuras retóricas vinculadas a la écfrasis, en tanto esta se convierte en soporte de la metáfora. Asimismo, se incorporará la categoría del placer a partir de un enfoque que articula los estudios queer con el psicoanálisis, con el objetivo de profundizar en la manera en que la obra cuestiona y resignifica las nociones normativas sobre la sexualidad y las representaciones del cuerpo

A partir de los resultados del mismo se traza, en la segunda parte, un panorama muy general de la dramaturgia actual en lengua española, que se centra en la ilusión de novedad del teatro posdramático y en el género de la autoficción teatral.In its first part, this article explains the research project “Análisis de la Dramaturgia Actual en Español” (ADAE), managed by the author on the last decade and financed by the Spanish Government in his ‘Plan Nacional de Investigación y Desarrollo’ (‘National Research and Development Plan’). From the results of the project, in the second part is traced a very broad outlook about the current dramaturgy in Spanish, that takes his focus on the delusion of newness about the Postdramatic Theater and the theatrical autofiction genre
