Mineralogical-geochemical study of the anionic competition effect on the octacalcium phosphate reaction into fluorapatite
The unstable compound octacalcium phosphate (OCP) is one of the crystalline precursors of the apatite mineral series composed by hydroxyapatite, fluorapatite and chlorapatite. The feature of OCP to react into apatite, depending on the media conditions, has been mainly exploited for biomedical applications as bone and tooth substitute material. Recently, some important applications of OCP have been documented: e.g. as electrode material for supercapacitors and as fluoride remover reagent for environmental purposes. With the aim of deepening the property of OCP to be the crystalline precursor of apatite and assessing if and how the anionic competition can influence the formation of the different apatite end-members, the OCP → apatite reaction has been here investigated placing 0.223 mmol of OCP in 50 mL aqueous solution with 0.368 mmol of dissolved fluoride, chloride, hydroxyl and carbonate anions (fluoride alone, fluoride with each of the other anions, and all the anions together) at room temperature. The post-experiment analyses of solid and liquid phases, conducted by using XRD, ESEM and ICP-OES, show that fluoride is always the main anion removed from solution during the OCP transformation reaction. The precise mineralogical characterization of solid phases formed, performed using the Rietveld algorithm, shows that fluorapatite is always the main resulting apatitic phase, followed by hydroxyapatite. Taking into account the different application fields of OCP, these results could be significant in better defining the OCP → apatite reaction in aqueous solutions where different competing anions are involved
Del classico in dialetto : prassi o nuova pratica? Saggio di commento a "Comme s'arricettaie zizìo" (Carlo Avvisati, Arte'm, 2018)
Il presente contributo ha scelto di interrogare un prodotto editoriale di recentissima pubblicazione che ripropone, in dialetto napoletano, le due lettere indirizzate a Tacito da Plinio il Giovane (VI, 16 e VI, 20). L’incontro iniziale con il testo ha sollevato una naturale curiosità e, insieme, un ampio spettro di domande alle quali si cercherà qui di rispondere. A partire da un inquadramento storico del testo e del lascito narrativo con cui il Novecento ha accolto il ricordo di Plinio il Vecchio tramandato dal nipote, la trattazione si estenderà a indagare il senso insito nell’uso di quel dialetto e il supporto di una traduzione “di lavoro” del latino faciliterà un migliore confronto con l’arrivo in napoletano, permettendo così di stabilire se e quanto quest’ultimo abbia gradi di parentela con l’interpretazione fornita nell’italiano stampato dall’editore. L’analisi ha come oggetto la prima delle due lettere sopracitate, perché programmatica e introduttiva a quelli che sono gli intenti encomiastici dell’autore. Il testo presenta, custodita, tutta la sua problematicità: lungi dall’essere una prosa epistolare tout-court, la lettera appare infatti spostata lungo l’asse dell’exitus viri illustris e su una pratica scrittoria che pretende di pilotare la narrazione di un evento storico. Quasi intrappolato nella tela di Plinio, il procedere napoletano pensa e ripensa quegli stessi stilemi, ne duplica le strategie narrative e amplifica il grado di discorsività e conversazionalità della scrittura latina della quale si trova a dover semplificare i costrutti spesso colorati da una inconcinnitas tacitiana. L’analisi si sposterà poi a constatare se e quanto il napoletano di Avvisati rispetti l’ascendenza letteraria richiamata nella Prefazione al volume e quali siano i luoghi in cui se ne discosti, dove e in quale misura abbia agito il processo di italianizzazione e se questo sia da imputare al sostrato italiano della traduzione. La complessa realtà e diversificazione storica che hanno conosciuto i segni linguistici in rapporto al volgarizzare, translatare, tradurre e interpretare, supporteranno inoltre la valutazione sul valore culturale, didattico e civile di cui quest’operazione si veste, rispondendo alla pur semplice e invero opaca domanda: che cosa significa tradurre, oggi, in dialetto?This contribution questions a recently published editorial product which proposes two letters addressed to Tacitus by Pliny the Younger (VI, 16 and VI, 20) in Neapolitan dialect. The initial reading of the text raised natural curiosity as well as a wide range of questions that we will try to answer here. Starting from a historical overview of the text and the narrative legacy with which the twentieth century has accepted the memory of Pliny the Elder handed down by his nephew, the discussion will also investigate the inherent sense in the use of that dialect and how a “working” translation from the Latin facilitates a better comparison with the rendition in Neapolitan. We will also establish if and how much the latter has degrees of kinship with the interpretation provided in the Italian printed by the publisher. The analysis has as its object the first of the two letters mentioned above, as they are programmatic and introductory to the author’s encomiastic intentions. The text carefully raises all these problems: far from being a prose epistle tout-court, the letter appears in fact to move along the exitus viri illustris axis and regards practical writing that claims to direct the narration of a historical event. Almost trapped in Pliny’s web, the Neapolitan reconsiders those same styles, duplicates their narrative strategies and amplifies the degree of discursiveness and conversationality of Latin writing, by simplifying the constructs often colored by a Tacitian inconcinnitas. This analysis also surveys if and how much Avvisati’s Neapolitan respects the literary ancestry recalled in the Preface to the volume and which it moves away from, to what extent the process of Italianization has impacted and if this is to be attributed to the underlying Italian translation. The complex historical reality and diversification that have characterized language in relation to vulgarization, translation and interpretation also raise questions about the cultural, didactic and civil value of this undertaking, responding to the simple yet opaque query: what does it mean to translate into dialect nowadays

Il presente contributo ha voluto interrogare i contenuti di un giornale satirico e il modo suo originale di ridere della nostra lingua. Analizzando quali siano i mutamenti del nostro idioma maggiormente percepiti, si è cercato inoltre di descrivere e riconoscere gli ingredienti di quella che è venuta a configurarsi come una "grammatica lercia"
Fischiare, una metafora : lingua e scrittura di un premio letterario
Numerous are the comparisons that contemporary literature opens up to styles, genres and words of tradition. The dichotomy that distinguishes the choices of writing between a norm and a misrepresentation of the same has left (now perhaps more openly) the non-place of the linguistic standard emerging as a directional matrix of a more spontaneous communication, which aims to approach the competences - or presumed such - of the reader. The analysis chooses to investigate the pages of La vita prodigiosa di Isidoro Sifflotin as the winner of the Campiello Opera Prima Award in 2015; what is proposed is therefore a linguistic reasoning that can interrogate the pages of the novel to understand what expedients and narrative mechanisms have led to assign a certain literary validity to a product that, deliberately, does not choose the linguistic literary standard
LA LINGUA FILMATA: "L'UOMO CHE VERRÀ" DI GIORGIO DIRITTI
La lingua filmata appare oggi uno dei campi linguistici in cui il dialetto torna ad essere scelta registica e veicolo di nuove istanze comunicative, in stretta relazione con un nuovo modo di intendere e praticare il cinema. Il presente articolo introduce il lettore alla consuetudine cinematografica del dialetto, analizzandone la presenza e le funzioni che gli sono state attribuite nei decenni trascorsi e presenti, e guarda a L’Uomo che verrà quale espressione attuale di una nuova risorgenza dialettale all’interno delle pellicole nostrane. Attraverso un’analisi attenta dei fenomeni vernacolari in esso presenti, l’indagine si sofferma sulle motivazioni e l’efficacia comunicativa cui perviene l’uso del dialetto e si interroga su quale grado di realismo o mimesi linguistica Diritti abbia raggiunto. Language of film: "L’uomo che verrà" by Giorgio DirittiLanguage in films is one of the fields where dialect becomes a choice and a vehicle for new communicative demands, closely related the new way of understanding and practicing the cinema. This article introduces the reader to the use of dialect in films, analyzing the presence and functions that have been attributed to it in the past and present decades, and looks at L’Uomo che verrà as an expression of the new resurgence of dialect in Italian films. Through careful analysis of the vernacular, the paper focuses on the motivations and the communicative effectiveness of the use of dialect and questions the degree of realism or linguistic mimesis that Diritti was able to reach

La storia del cinema ha guardato alle componenti straniere in modo spesso marginale, facilmente sbilanciato su intenti comico-parodici o restituendo, nei loro usi, tentativi di una qualche forma di critica sociale. Ab Initio Optical Potentials and Nucleon Scattering on Medium Mass Nuclei
We derive ab initio optical potentials from self-consistent Green's function theory and compute the elastic scattering of neutrons off oxygen and calcium isotopes. The comparison with scattering data is satisfactory at low scattering energies. The method is benchmarked against the no-core shell model with continuum calculations, showing that virtual excitations of the target are crucial to predict proper fragmentation and absorption at higher energies. This is a significant step toward deriving optical potentials for medium mass nuclei and complex many-body systems in general
La Strada come progetto di spazio pubblico: strumenti convenzionali e non per il progetto dello spazio pubblico a partire dalle differenze degli individui
The “Street as Project of Public Space” problem is a “Right to the City” problem. It is, because of – paradoxically- it increasingly denies the Right of large part of urban population to move freely in the city and finally to “use”, to live freely the city. All individuals whom do not match the “ideal citizen” [adult-male-healthy-productive-wealthy-driver], they live in a hostile city. We could maybe “give back” public spaces to these urban populations [children, women, elderly, disabled, migrants, poor, pedestrians, cyborgs, and fyborgs, and so on]starting from here: understanding the importance of individuals’ diversities, make it a big challenge for the project. The research explore possibilities about how to do it in a incisive and positive way, analysing conventional and unconventional tools of project and design of public space and street: play, education, participation, self-building, urban inclusive communication, colour, ephemeral structures, micro-scale interventions, unforeseen reactions, time and times, commercial services, slowness, velocity, but overall the incredible diversity of “urban” bodies. The first part analyzes and criticises strategies and modern proposals about the street design; the second part explores the tools and possibilities of different way of design; the third part present some fieldwork projects made by TaMaLaCà group and spin-off, and finally some proposals for the Street as Project of Inclusive Public Space
