Embedding Employability: Insights and Outcomes
Speakers: Dr Sayjda Talib (lead author), Teaching Fellow, Lancaster University with Dr Stacey Noble Senior Teaching Associate, Lancaster University Talib and Noble (2018) Abstract - “This paper details the experiences of embedding bespoke employability modules within the accounting and finance curriculum at Lancaster Unviersity and also provides a take on the role of the Academic Employability Champion, a new departmental ‘curriculum facing’ post for academic staff. The paper begins by outlining the pedagogical gaps faced by the department with increasing anecdotal employer feedback that graduates were not ‘desk ready’. The paper then outlines the consultation process with the faculty/central careers team and the initial provision of AcF.150 and AcF.350, the employability modules. Changes to the module in the five years which it has been operational include greater involvement with employers, intensive student conferences and workshops, integration of cutting edge technology (e.g. video interview simulations and business games). The paper ends with a discussion on the feedback from students, staff and employers and the potential applicability of the bespoke modules in other Higher Education (HE) institutions

This study focuses on investigating the method of teaching Tajweed of a great imam of the imams of recitation and Tajweed, Imam Abu Muhammad Makki ibn Abi Talib al-Qaisi al-Qayrawani, who is one of the imams of the recitations and Qur’an. It also aims to reveal the most prominent practical benefits and scientific values that research benefits from Imam Makki's methodology in presenting Tajweed information. The research used the inductive analytical method by mentioning the letters arranged regarding its part of speech and then using applied examples of the words of the Qur'an, the defects that some people fall into, their cause, and the verbal precautions to avoid those defects. The study reached several results, including: the great role played by Imam Makki in stabilizing the pillars of Tajweed, and laying its foundations. The study showed that the methodology followed by Imam Makki depends on the educational policy, in presenting the information and grading it, and using the appropriate means that it had to. He also showed that it is an organized methodology of the opinions of his predecessors with criticism and diagnosis of them, and an innovator of new vocal opinions. Pattern of Family Planning in Bani-Talib village in Assiut, Egypt-cross Sectional Study
Family planning programs have emerged as one of the most successful public health interventions of the 20th century, significantly improving maternal and child health outcomes. This study aims to evaluate the prevalence and patterns of contraceptive use in Bani-Talib village, Assiut governorate, and to identify barriers to family planning method utilization. Conducted as part of a baseline survey by the Ministry of Health and Population in 2010, this cross-sectional study included all married women aged 15-49 in the village. Data were collected through structured questionnaires addressing demographic information and contraceptive practices. Ethical approval was obtained, and data were analyzed using SPSS.
The mean age of participants was 30.38 years, with an illiteracy rate of 63.8% and only 4.6% employed. The prevalence of contraceptive use was 46%, with 36.9% never having used any method. The most commonly used contraceptive method was the intrauterine device (IUD) at 40.4%, followed by injectables (32%) and oral contraceptive pills (22.1%). Major barriers to contraceptive use included newly married status (34.9%), cost (24.8%), and concerns about infertility (20.2%). The findings revealed no significant differences in contraceptive use related to education, employment status, or number of children, but age was significantly associated with usage patterns.
The results highlight the need for targeted interventions to address barriers to contraceptive use and increase awareness of family planning among men. Future studies should further explore family planning utilization patterns in urban versus rural settings in Egypt. Enhanced training for healthcare providers is also recommended to improve family planning service delivery in rural communities

Book Review: Museums, History and Culture in Malaysia
It is not very often that one comes across a book about museums in
Malaysia. Neither can one easily find such a book that has its contents
closely intertwined with the history and culture of the country. This is
because an attempt to link the museums with history and heritage is indeed
full of complexities as the author has tried to show. The book nonetheless
shows that such task is possible. In fact, for college students, the book is
quite helpful in providing useful historical information of Malaysia's past.
From the narratives of the book, readers will certainly be made aware about
the truth of the saying that Malaysia is unique in every sense of the word. As
a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic country, it is unique in its style of political
pragmatism as seen from the unconventional way its political elites try to
manage a plural society that is still struggling to become a viable and
integrated nation. Through his book, Museums, History and Culture in
Malaysia, the author Abu Talib Ahmad has painstakingly demonstrated how
museums in Malaysia try to cope with the diverse and pluralistic views of
the country's histor
