This dataset represents the results of the excavations conducted between 1988 and 2014 at Tell Ibrahim Awad in the Eastern Nile Delta of Egypt. It concerns a cemetery, settlement and temple sequence from about 3200 to 2000 BC. It comprises published and unpublished material, the latter in the form of photographs, drawings and object lists. In addition, the results of one other excavation at Hierakonpolis in Southern Egypt during one season in 2017 are represented, concerning a cemetery dated 3100-3000 BC

The First Intermediate Period Cemetery and Settlement at Tell Ibrahim Awad
Discussion of the remains from the First Intermediate Period at the Eastern Delta site of Tell Ibrahim Awad, with a habitation history extending from the Middle Kingdom back to Predynastic times. En Tell Ibrahim Awad, se conoce un yacimiento predinástico con su necrópolis, un templo del Imperio Medio y una necrópolis próxima. Centro de vital importancia desde el período predinástico hasta la época Tolemaica, debido a su ubicación en el Delta Oriental, que significaba la vía de entrada a Egipto, y por lo tanto, nexo de unión con otras culturas a través del comercio y la comunicación entre éstas.Up to now, a predynastic deposit with its own necropolis, a temple from the Middle Empire and a nearby necropolis are known in Tell Ibrahim Awad. It was a place of fundamental importance since the Predynastic period until the Ptolomeic age, due to its location on Eastern Delta, meaning the entrance into Egypt and, therefore, a link with other cultures through commerce and communication among them
