Benchmark of collisional–radiative models for ITER beams at the Alcator C-Mod tokamak
The beam-based plasma diagnostics on ITER require high accuracy and reliability which accordingly put challenging requirements on the collisional–radiative (CR) models used for description of the excited states of beam atoms. These states are known to play an essential role in implementation and interpretation of neutral beam-based diagnostics, such as the motional Stark effect (MSE), charge-exchange recombination spectroscopy (CXRS), beam-emission spectroscopy (BES) and in the dynamics of beam penetration. The latest analyses demonstrate that the widely used assumption of statistical populations among the beam excited states is questionable for high beam energies and high magnetic fields. Here we report an empirical verification of the recently developed non-statistical nkm-resolved CR model (Marchuk et al 2010 J. Phys. B: At. Mol. Opt. Phys. 43 011002) and the short extrapolation to the relevant parameter range for ITER. The experiment was performed on the Alcator C-Mod tokamak, which operates in a unique range of parameters well suited for testing CR models for ITER beams. Beam emission spectra are collected for a selected range of plasma parameters. The line ratios σ1/σ0, π4/π3 and Σσ/Σπ are measured and compared to the n-resolved statistical population model and the new non-statistical nkm-resolved CR model. The measured ratios show clear deviations from the statistical model and a good agreement with the non-statistical results. The difference between the experimental values and nkm-resolved simulations for the most part is within 10% for all three line ratios. The largest deviation here is for the σ1/σ0 ratio that reaches up to 14% for the lowest electron density of 0.6 × 1020 m−3. In contrast, the difference between experiment and the n-resolved (statistical) model is within 13–27% for the 50 keV/u Alcator C-Mod beam and expected to be up to 32% for 100 keV/u and up to 43% for 500 keV/u ITER beams. The discussed effect must be taken into account for the proposed CXRS/BES and MSE diagnostics for ITER
Zastosowanie pyłu granitowego jako efektywnego wypełniacza mieszanek betonowych
The article presents the results of experimental studies of the influence of granite dust on the properties and durability of concrete. The use of industrial waste - granite dust, in the processing of granite into crushed stone, at the same time allows the rational use of natural resources and solve environmental problems. The possibility of improving the construction and technical properties of concrete filled with granite dust is considered. Experimental-statistical models of technological and physical-mechanical properties of concretes are presented and analyzed, ways of their improvement are shown. The complex of strength properties, water absorption, frost resistance, and durability of such concrete have been studied. The studied concrete are characterized by a more intensive set of strength and obtaining mixtures of “sticky” consistency. Due to the partial replacement of sand by granite dust, the microstructure of the cement matrix is compacted, which is the main reason for reducing porosity and increasing the durability of structures based on the proposed concrete.W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań doświadczalnych wpływu pyłu granitowego na właściwości i trwałość betonu. Badano betony wykonane z użyciem: cementu portladzkiego CEM I 42,5N, kruszywa grubego granitowego i pyłu granitowego, piasku i superplastyfikatora na bazie estrów polikarboksylowych.
Energy and atomic level distribution of sputtered tungsten determined by high-resolution optical spectroscopy
Energy and atomic level distribution of sputtered tungsten determined by high-resolution spectroscopy S. Ertmer, O. Marchuk, S. Dickheuer, S. Brezinsek, Ph. Mertens, M. Rasinski, and A. KreterForschungszentrum Jülich GmbH - Institut für Energie- und Klimaforschung -Plasmaphysik, Partner of the Trilateral Euregio Cluster (TEC), 52425 Jülich, [email protected] (W) is proposed as plasma-facing material (PFM) in the divertor and in the main chamber of future fusion devices. The lifetime of the PFM is mainly determined by erosion; passive spectroscopy is a very powerful, reliable and cheap in-situ diagnostic tool to monitor the W gross erosion. One of the unresolved problems related to physical sputtering of W by ion impact in the energy range of 100-200 eV remains the initial energy level population distribution of the W atoms. A further unresolved problem is that until now there are considerable deviations between the modelled and experimentally observed energy and angular distribution of sputtered W [1,2]. Both problems are addressed in this work using spectroscopy with high spatial and spectral resolution in the linear plasma device PSI-2 [3].For measurements of the population distribution of sputtered W atoms within the ground state (5D0) and the first excited levels, e.g. the quintet 5DJ (J=1,..4) and the metastable level 7S3, a target was exposed to an argon plasma (electron temperature Te = 2 eV; electron density ne = 1∙1012 cm-3). The ions were accelerated via applying a bias voltage onto the target to kinetic energies Ei between 100 and 200 eV. The line intensities in front of the target for neutral W I lines were investigated by an imaging spectrometer in the Czerny-Turner configuration (resolving power λ/Δλ ≈ 3∙104) with a high spatial resolution of 50 µm/px [4]. The development of the emission of W I lines in front of the target was tested against the lifetime of W I levels populated by electron impact. It was found that for a target at room temperature the W atoms are sputtered in the ground state 5D0, whereas the other levels 5DJ>0 and 7S3 get populated deeper in the plasma. The energy distribution function of sputtered W atoms is obtained from the Doppler shift affected line shape of the W I line (5D0-7F1) detected perpendicularly to the target surface by a high resolution Echelle spectrometer (λ/Δλ ≈ 7∙105). The model of the Doppler-shifted emission at the surface [5] was extended to take into account the Zeeman splitting and instrumental broadening of spectral lines [6]. The data for W is in a very good agreement with the Thompson energy distribution function featuring an increase in the high energy tail with increasing impact energy of the incident Ar+ ions. Moreover, this method determines in-situ the optical reflectance of the target at specific wavelengths, which impacts the measured net emission. We demonstrate here for the first time that high spectral resolution spectroscopy of sputtered atoms in combination with polarisation measurements close to the pseudo-Brewster angels can be used for surface morphology studies independently of other diagnostics.[1] Stepanova M et al, 2001 J. doubt that there are the most important tasks of hygienic content, which is marked by
a significant professional orientation value, and provides an opportunity to find out the
degree of expression of the adaptation of the students’ organism, to establish the level
of their professional suitability for the performance of professional skills [1, 2, 3].
The aim of the study is to establish the relationship between success educational
success and characteristics of the level of development of personality traits and
psychophysiological functions of students.
The research was conducted among students of National Pirogov Memorial
Medical University among the professionally significant psychophysiological
functions that were subject to in-depth research, such criterions of the functional
capabilities of higher nervous activity were included, such as the latent period of visual motor reaction, mobility and confidence of nervous processes, features of
concentration, stability and switching attention and psychophysiological
characteristics of mental capacity (work efficiency, degree of involvement in the
activity being performed, mental stability), functional capabilities of the visual sensory
system (critical frequency of the fusion of light flashes) and the somatosensory system
(coordination of movements).
In the same time, criterions of temperament, anxiety, character, level of subjective
control, leading correlates of mental states and, above all, states of asthenia and
depression, aggressive manifestations, emotional burnout, etc., were identified as the
leading professionally significant of the personality traits. In order to establish the
peculiarities of the relationship between criterions of educational success and
characteristics of the level of development of personality traits and
psychophysiological functions of students, the procedures of correlation and factor
