    Pengaruh Bagian Setek dan Lama Perendaman Ekstrak Daun Kelor terhadap Pertumbuhan Bibit Sirih Daun (Piper betle L.)

    This research is very useful to know the effect of cutting and immersion length times in the extract of Moringa leaf on the growth of betel seedlings, as well as its benefits which gives the best growth of betel seedlings. Two parts of cuttings, budding, and middle, soaked in Moringa extract for 1, 3 and 5 hours, were performed in the pots experiment arranged according to a factorial randomized block design with seven replications. This research was conducted from January to April 2016 in experimental garden of Agricultural Faculty of Timor University, Kefamenanu, TTU, NTT, Indonesia. The results showed that cuttings originating from the middle with 3 hours of immersion resulted in the best betel seedlings growth, bud growth rate (0.24 g / wk), net assimilation rate (0.0044 g / cm2 / wk), root-crown ratio (5.01 g) dry weight of bud (1.76 g). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh bagian setek dan lama perendaman dalam ekstrak daun kelor terhadap pertumbuhan bibit sirih daun serta memperoleh bagian setek dan lama perendaman dalam ekstrak daun kelor yang memberikan pertumbuhan bibit sirih daun yang terbaik. Dua bagian setek, pucuk dan tengah direndam dalam ekstrak kelor selama 1, 3 dan 5 jam dan dilakukan dalam sebuah percobaan pot yang disusun menurut rancangan acak kelompok faktorial dengan tujuh ulangan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Januari–April 2016 di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Timor, Kefamenanu, TTU, NTT, Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan setek yang berasal dari bagian tengah dengan lama perendaman 3 jam menghasilkan pertumbuhan bibit sirih yang paling baik, laju pertumbuhan tunas (0,24 g/minggu), laju asimilasi bersih (0,0044 g/cm2/minggu), Rasio tajuk akar (5,01 g) bobot kering tunas (1,76 g).&nbsp

    Penentuan waktu tanam yang tepat dapat mengurangi dampak negatif dari rendahnya ketersediaan air dan radiasi matahari pada fase pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung. Selain itu, keberhasilan budidaya komoditas tanaman juga dipengaruhi oleh pemilihan varietas yang tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menentukan waktu tanam yang efektif untuk mendapatkan radiasi dan air serta hasil panen yang optimal, (2) menentukan varietas yang sesuai dengan waktu tanam dan dapat mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan radiasi dan air. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari sampai Juli 2019 di Balai Pengkajian Teknologi Pertanian (BPTP) Naibonat-NTT. Percobaan faktorial tiga faktor dilakukan di lahan dengan menggunakan rancang petak-petak terpisah (splitsplit plot design). Faktor pertama ditempatkan di petak utama, yaitu tiga jadwal penanaman yang terdiri dari tanggal 26 Februari 2019, tanggal 12 Maret 2019, tanggal 26 Maret 2019. Faktor kedua ditempatkan pada anak petak yaitu tiga varietas jagung yang terdiri dari varietas Pena muti m'naes, Lamuru, dan Pioneer- 36. Faktor ketiga ditempatkan sebagai anak-anak petak, yaitu 2 taraf penyiraman yang terdiri dari: tidak disiram dan disiram. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa waktu tanam tanggal 12 Maret 2019 merupakan waktu tanam yang tepat dan sesuai dengan tingkat ketersediaan radiasi matahari dan air sehingga memberikan hasil yang lebih baik terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman jagung dibandingkan dengan waktu tanam lainnya. Varietas Pioneer-36 yang ditanam pada tanggal 12 Maret 2019, memberikan pertumbuhan dan hasil tertinggi dibandingkan varietas lainnya. Penanaman jagung varietas Pioneer-36 tanggal 12 Maret 2019, pada ketersediaan air dan radiasi yang cukup dengan penggunaan yang lebih efisien dan tingkat intersepsi radiasi matahari yang lebih tinggi menghasilkan produktivitas tertinggi yaitu 8.47 ton ha-1. Hal tersebut didukung oleh adanya keselarasan tanggap kapasitas source (luas daun) dan kapasitas sink (ukuran tongkol)

    Determination of the appropriate sowing date can reduce the negative impact of the low water availability and solar radiation in the growth phase and yield of maize. This research aimed to (1) determine the effective sowing date to get the optimal solar radiation, water, and yields, (2) determine the appropriate varieties for the sowing date to optimize the utilization of radiation and water. The experiment was conducted at the Agricultural Technology Assessment Station (BPTP) Naibonat, NTT from February to July 2019. The three-factor factorial experiment using a split-split plot design. The main plot, namely three sowing dates were 26 February 2019, 12 March 2019, and 26 March 2019. The subplots, namely three varieties of maize consisted of Pena muti m’naes, Lamuru, and Pioneer-36. The sub-sub plot, namely 2 levels of watering consisting of not watered and watered. The results showed that the sowing date of 12 March 2019, was the appropriate sowing date and corresponding with the level of availability of water and solar radiation with more efficient use and higher levels of solar radiation interception to provide Pioneer-36 production of 8.47 tons ha-1, which was better than the production of Local and Lamuru varieties of maize at other sowing dates. This is supported by the synchronized responses of both source capacity (leaf area) and sink capacity (ear size).     Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

    We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
