No full textPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang ulang situs web kantin Universitas Katolik Darma Cendika dengan pendekatan User-Centered Design (UCD) untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan pengguna, menyederhanakan navigasi, dan memperbaiki estetika visual situs web. Pendekatan UCD yang digunakan mencakup analisis kebutuhan pengguna, pengembangan prototipe menggunakan Figma, dan iterasi desain berdasarkan umpan balik pengguna. Metodologi ini memastikan bahwa situs web yang dihasilkan sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan preferensi pengguna. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan UCD dapat meningkatkan kepuasan pengguna sebesar 30%, memperbaiki masalah usability, dan menghasilkan desain responsif dengan informasi yang lengkap dan relevan

No full textThis research focuses on testing the Pinterest website platform, specifically its visual content
management and user interaction capabilities. The testing methods employed include two
primary approaches: blackbox testing and the utilization of Katalon Studio for both manual
and automated testing. The objective of this study is to explore the functional aspects,
performance, and reliability of key features such as the authentication system, content search
functionality, and board management. In the blackbox testing phase, we thoroughly examined
the user interface, system responses to both valid and invalid inputs, and the visual data
management workflow. Meanwhile, the use of Katalon Studio allowed us to automate critical
scenarios to enhance efficiency and ensure system stability for login and search features. The
results of this study provide a comprehensive overview of the Pinterest website quality on
desktop platforms, highlighting a 100% functional success rate and usability aspects that
meet Nielsen Heuristic standards. These findings are expected to offer profound insights into
the feature's readiness to meet users' visual inspiration needs, while providing
recommendations for continuous testing to maintain overall performance and user
experience

The ‘Galilean Style in Science’ and the Inconsistency of Linguistic Theorising
No full textChomsky’s principle of epistemological tolerance says that in theoretical linguistics contradictions between the data and the hypotheses may be temporarily tolerated in order to protect the explanatory power of the theory. The paper raises the following problem: What kinds of contradictions may be tolerated between the data and the hypotheses in theoretical linguistics? First a model of paraconsistent logic is introduced which differentiates between week and strong contradiction. As a second step, a case study is carried out which exemplifies that the principle of epistemological tolerance may be interpreted as the tolerance of week contradiction. The third step of the argumentation focuses on another case study which exemplifies that the principle of epistemological tolerance must not be interpreted as the tolerance of strong contradiction. The reason for the latter insight is the unreliability and the uncertainty of introspective data. From this finding the author draws the conclusion that it is the integration of different data types that may lead to the improvement of current theoretical linguistics and that the integration of different data types requires a novel methodology which, for the time being, is not available

Saat ini, perusahaan masih mengandalkan cara konvensional dalam menyampaikan informasi produk dan profil perusahaan, sehingga jangkauan informasi menjadi terbatas dan kurang optimal dalam membangun citra profesional di era digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun website profil perusahaan (company profile) sebagai media informasi dan promosi digital. Metode pengembangan perangkat lunak yang digunakan adalah model Waterfall, yang meliputi tahapan analisis kebutuhan, desain sistem, implementasi, pengujian, deployment, dan pemeliharaan. Website dibangun menggunakan framework React.js untuk sisi frontend guna menciptakan antarmuka yang interaktif, serta Laravel untuk sisi backend guna pengelolaan data yang efisien. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sebuah website responsif yang menampilkan profil perusahaan, katalog produk termos dan plastik, galeri kegiatan, serta informasi kontak. No full textThis paper was revised and shortened for inclusion in the volume "People’s Law and State Law: The Bellagio Papers", which serves as the “proceedings” volume for the first conference of the Commission on Folk Law and Legal Pluralism of the International Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences held at Bellagio, Lake Como, Italy, September 1981. The paper as originally presented in 1981 can be found at http://hdl.handle.net/11122/9750.This paper traces the history of the bush justice system in rural Alaska, describes the relationship between traditional Alaska Native dispute resolution mechanisms and the state criminal justice system, and analyzes bush justice research between 1970 and 1981 and its effects on state agency policies and changes in the rural justice system. Innovations by researchers were well-received by villagers and field-level professionals, but not by agency policymakers. Hence, most reforms made in the 1970s had vanished by the early 1980s. The author concludes that further reforms will be ineffective unless Alaska Natives are drawn into the decisionmaking process as co-equal players negotiating on legal process from positions of power.The environment for research /

Originally published in 1987 by Foris Publications, this was a pioneering work that played a major role in establishing argumentation theory as a discipline. Today, it is as relevant to the field as when it first appeared, with discussions of questions and issues that remain central to the study of argument. It has defined the main approaches to many of those issues and guided the ways in which we might respond to them. From this foundation, it sets the stage for further investigations and emerging research.

Criminal Records of Medieval Dubrovnik: A Survey
No full textRekonstruirani su izvorni nizovi zapisnika dubrovačkog kaznenog suda i izrađen njihov tablični pregled za razdoblje od 13. do kraja 15. stoljeća. Ukazano je na istraživačke mogućnosti i na komparativnu vrijednost građe.Records of the Criminal Court of Dubrovnik are filed in different series in the State Archives in Dubrovnik. Many volumes have been mislaid or filed in the series they do not originally belong to as a result of the classification of the archivist J. Gelcich in the 19th century. The author of this article has reconstructed the original series of volumes related to the medieval period (1284-1499). With this aim she examined the types of records, particularly the distinction between lamenta de intus and lamenta de foris in the 15th century. The author underlines the importance of the researcher’s knowledge of the original organization of the judicial series for the purpose of better economization of the investigation and accuracy of interpretation. She also points to the great value of these sources as compared to other towns in medieval Dalmatia but in Italy as well. A table representing 125 volumes with reference to their original name, current classification, date, etc. has been provided
