Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Perspektif Hukum Islam Terhadap Praktik Pemanfaatan Barang Gadai Berupa Rumah Di Desa Sragi Kecamatan Songgon Kabupaten Banyuwangi
Pegadaian is a formal financial institution tasked with channeling financing in the form of providing loans to the public based on Sharia principles called pawning (rahn) in Fiqh Muamalah. To get a loan, the community must surrender the valuable objects they have to the pawnshop as collateral for their debt. The community in general recognizes a pawn with one of the debt agreements with collateral, where Rahn\u27s party must return the debt with a period determined by both parties, if Rahn cannot repay the debt then the collateral will become the property of the murtahin. Usually, among the people, the collateral is used until Rahn can redeem the pawned item back.
Thus the focus of this research is to find out the perspective of Islamic law on the practice of pawning goods in the form of houses in Sragi Village, Songgon District, Banyuwangi Regency. To answer the focus of this research, the researcher uses a qualitative method based on a doctrinal approach and interpretation of the sources and data obtained.
Based on the results of this study, it can be seen that the practice of using pawned goods that occurred in Sragi Village, Songgon District, Banyuwangi Regency, if the murtahin occupies or uses the pawned goods is allowed, as long as the murtahin has obtained permission from the rahin and of course it has all been agreed in the initial agreement
SISTEM BAGI HASIL DALAM AKAD MUZARA’AH PADA PETANI TEMBAKAU DI SUMBER MALANG SITUBONDO
Plalangan Village is one of the villages where the majority of the livelihood is farming and in which there are many methods used to manage the land owned, ranging from managing it yourself to managing it by other people, one of the contracts used is the muzara\u27ah contract. The muzara\u27ah contract is a cooperative agreement between the land owner and the cultivator where the seeds to be planted come from the land owner. The agreement in this contract is usually done verbally without any written agreement with the distribution of the results agreed at the beginning of the agreement, however, in this distribution of results the cultivator is still waiting because the land owner is still looking for buyers who will buy tobacco, so this is the background for this research. . The type of research used is field research, that is, researchers go directly into the field to conduct research so they can see and understand the objects to be discussed. The results of this research show that the profit sharing system in the muzara\u27ah contract for tobacco farmers in Plalangan Village is that the distribution of the results is agreed upon by both parties at the beginning of the contract. What usually happens is that half is divided for the land owner and the other half for the cultivator, after deducting costs. -cost incurred. Meanwhile, the muzara\u27ah contract carried out by the people of Plalangan Village, Sumber Malang District, Situbondo Regency is valid because it has fulfilled the pillars and requirements of the muzara\u27ah contract and is in accordance with the principles of Islamic economics, namely the principle of monotheism, the principle of representation, the principle of justice, the principle of tazkiyah, and the principle of al-falah
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Penetapan Harga Jual Beli Pohon Bonsai Di Desa Curah Kalak Kecamatan Jangkar Kabupaten Situbondo Dalam Perspektif Ekonomi Islam
This article analyzes the determination of buying and selling prices of bonsai trees in Curah Kalak Village, Jangkar District, Situbondo Regency from the perspective of Islamic economics. The study employs a qualitative approach using normative–conceptual analysis supported by empirical data obtained from field observations and documentation. The analysis focuses on the conformity of pricing practices with Islamic economic principles, particularly fairness (‘adl), transparency, mutual consent (taradhi), and benefit (maslahah). The findings reveal that the pricing of bonsai trees is largely influenced by factors such as plant age, aesthetic value, maintenance costs, and market demand. From an Islamic economic perspective, the pricing practices generally reflect acceptable principles, as prices are determined through mutual agreement between sellers and buyers. However, certain practices still require improvement, particularly in ensuring clearer information disclosure to avoid potential uncertainty (gharar). This study contributes to the discourse on Islamic economic practices at the community level and provides practical insights for strengthening sharia-compliant pricing mechanisms in local trade activities
PEMIKIRAN IBNU TAIMIYAH TENTANG STANDART HARGA JUAL DAN BELI DALAM KITAB AL-HISBAH
This research focuses on Ibn Taimiyyah\u27s thoughts on price standards found in the book Al-Hisbah. The selection of Ibn Taimiyyah for this research is due to his thoughts and prominence in the field of economics, which are indeed relevant to current conditions, especially regarding prices and market mechanisms amidst increasingly uncertain market conditions. This research employs a qualitative method with a narrative approach, as it investigates the thoughts of the figure by using the book Al-Hisbah as primary data and also other works by Ibn Taimiyyah as secondary data analyzed through content analysis techniques. The results obtained from this study indicate that the pricing of goods must be in accordance with the natural market mechanisms determined by the equilibrium between supply and demand; however, under certain conditions, the government must also take part in determining prices to ensure that they remain stable and fair for all parties
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
