The female holotype was collected from Yulongxueshan whilst the male paratypes were collected from Ludian, thus the association of male and female requires a confirmation from more material. In a recent expedition made by the first author, specimens of both sexes were collected from both localities. An examination of male and female genitalia proved the original association of male and female to be correct. Distribution.     INNOVATIVE PILLAR[6]ARENE-BASED STATIONARY PHASES FOR HIGH-RESOLUTION GAS CHROMATOGRAPHIC ANALYSES

    In this work, the synthesis, fabrication, and characterization of new stationary phases based on pillar[6]arene derivative modified by long alkyl chains (P6A-C10) for high-resolution gas chromatographic (GC) analyses are reported. Pillar[n]arenes are a new class of macrocyclic hosts that can accommodate specific guests due to their highly symmetrical and rigid pillar architectures with π-electron rich cavities. Quantum chemistry calculations have been performed, showing a difference in non-covalent interactions with the P6A-C10 pillar framework, which leads to specific selectivity for aromatic compounds. The GC columns prepared with these innovative stationary phases exhibited a medium polarity, and good reproducibility for run-to-run, day-to-day, and column-to-column analyses [1], demonstrating great potential as new stationary phases in separation science. Furthermore, peculiar advantages are achieved if compared with the commercial HP-5, HP-35, DB-17, and PEG-20M columns, showing unmatched resolving capabilities toward chloroaniline, bromoaniline, iodoaniline, toluidine, and xylene isomers [2].     Analyse des signaux multicomposante à modulation de fréquence linéaire par la transformation de Teager-Huang-Hough

    A novel detection approach of linear FM (LFM) signals, with single or multiple components, in the time-frequency plane of Teager-Huang (TH) transform is presented. The detection scheme that combines TH transform and Hough transform is referred to as Teager-Huang-Hough (THH) transform. The input signal is mapped into the time-frequency plane by using TH transform followed by the application of Hough transform to recognize time-frequency components. LFM components are detected and their parameters are estimated from peaks and their locations in the Hough space. Advantages of THH transform over Hough transform of Wigner-Ville distribution (WVD) are: 1) cross-terms free detection and estimation, and 2) good time and frequency resolutions. No assumptions are made about the number of components of the LFM signals and their models. THH transform is illustrated on multicomponent LFM signals in free and noisy environments and the results compared with WVD-Hough and pseudo-WVD-Hough transforms

    Application of hydrogen-storage alloy electrode in electrochemical reduction of glucose

    Electrolysis of glucose was performed at constant potential using hydrogen-storage alloy as catalytic reduction electrode. A superficial treatment and activation of the hydrogen-storage alloy powder had an obvious effect on improving the current efficiency for the generation of sorbitol. The most favorable results were obtained when a current density of 8 mA cm(-2), a voltage of 4.0-5.0 V and a pH of 8 at a temperature of 30 degreesC are used. Prior to use the electrode was treated for 2 h at 80 degreesC with a solution containing KBH4 (0.5 mol/l), KF (0.5 mol/l) and KOH (6 mol/l). Under optimized conditions the current efficiency for sorbitol by electrolyzing glucose exceeded 90%. The yield of sorbitol was around 80%. The lifetime of the electrode was tested and analyzed, and methods of regeneration are discussed. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved

    Virus-like particles production in green plants

    Viruses-like particles (VLPs), assembled from capsid structural subunits of several different viruses, have found a number of biomedical applications such as vaccines and novel delivery systems for nucleic acids and small molecules. Production of recombinant proteins in different plant systems has been intensely investigated and improved upon in the last two decades. Plant-derived antibodies, vaccines, and microbicides have received great attention and shown immense promise. In the case of mucosal vaccines, orally delivered plant-produced VLPs require minimal processing of the plant tissue, thus offering an inexpensive and safe alternative to more conventional live attenuated and killed virus vaccines. For other applications which require higher level of purification, recent progress in expression levels using plant viral vectors have shown that plants can compete with traditional fermentation systems. In this review, the different methods used in the production of VLPs in green plants are described. Specific examples of expression, assembly, and immunogenicity of several plant-derived VLPs are presented

    Voltage Regulation Service Pricing in Cyber-Physical Distribution Networks With Multi-Dimensional Meteorological Uncertainties

    Uncertainties of distributed renewable energy and load demand induced by meteorological factors pose a significant challenge to the voltage quality of the distribution network. This paper addresses this issue from a cyber-physical perspective, by proposing a novel voltage regulation (VR) service pricing for the distribution network. Specifically, an improved nonparametric kernel density estimation method characterized by adaptive variable bandwidth is proposed to measure the coupling among different meteorological factors. The intervals of photovoltaic power and air-conditioning load are defined by a novel affine algorithm with high performance, integrated with mandatory boundary and space approximation techniques. The distribution-level VR market is based on an affiliated layered communication architecture characterized by cloud-edge-terminal collaboration and message queue telemetry transport protocol. A grid-aware voltage regulation interval optimization model is proposed to determine the voltage regulation service price through an electrical distance-based rule. Case studies show that the proposed price can significantly facilitate robust VR decisions, promote the voltage-friendly behavior of VR service providers, and reduce the VR cost by about 20.96% compared to the currently adopted pricing mechanisms
