In this study, we investigated the complex relaxation dynamics of electron-hole pairs within state-of-the-art GaN/AlN quantum dots. Thanks to the combined use of different ultrafast optics techniques, we have studied the dynamics of electron-hole pairs from their photocreation in the wetting layer to their recombination from the discrete states of the dots, on timescales ranging from a few hundred femtoseconds to a few nanoseconds. Time-resolved photoluminescence showed that the quantum confined Stark effect is the main factor responsible for the dependence of radiative lifetimes on dot size. From the shape of the decays, which deviated from the expected simple exponential function, we extracted relevant information about the structure of the sample, highlighting the reversible capture of carriers in a dark state. Additionally, different dot morphologies were identified in another sample, each exhibiting specific recombination times. Our analytical model also confirmed the absence of screening of the internal electric field by the photo-injected carriers during recombination. Degenerate and non-degenerate pump-probe experiments have revealed an efficiency of thermalization and capture processes in dots rarely seen in other III-V semiconductor systems. These findings highlight the unique properties of GaN and the specific experimental conditions employed. The evolution of the rise time of the differential transmission signal with the energy of the photons indicates a saturation of the states below the energy of the probe pulse. At the same time, the relaxation dynamics is governed by both the radiative lifetimes and the density of accessible states at lower energies. More precisely, this dynamic slows down when the probe energy is resonant with the ground state of the dot or one of its excited states. On the other hand, processes such as the Auger effect, and potentially screening of the internal electric field, accelerate this dynamics, especially at high carrier densities.

Determination of the Value of the Company UAB „X” by the Discounted Cash Flow Method Maryna KOSOBUCKAJA Paper for the Bachelor’s degree Banking Bachelor’s Program Vilnius University, Faculty of Economics, Finanace Department Supervisor – prof. Dr. A. Paškevičius Vilnius, 2020 SUMMARY 58 pages, 8 pictures, 24 tables, 32 references. The main goal of this bachelor's thesis is to determine the value of UAB "X" company using the discounted cash flow method and to try to calculate the value of the company by assessing the impact of the coronavirus epidemic. The work consists of three main parts; literature analysis, research and its results, conclusions and recommendations. The analysis of the literature describes the concept of company value, discusses the objectives and methods of valuation, and compares valuation methods. The second part of this work describes the research methodology, discusses the main stages of the discounted cash flow valuation method. This work was written to calculate the value of the company by discounting cash flows under emerging market conditions and quarantine conditions that were introduced due to the coronovirus pandemic in Lithuania in 2020. March 16 The cash flow forecast showed that the value of the company obtained using the discounted cash flow method was EUR 47,814,340 in the stage of stable economic development and EUR 944,880 if the company would work under quarantine conditions for 3 years. The results of the calculated second value were so insignificant that even without additional calculation it was clear that this value could not be correct. Therefore, the company's value calculation methodology was adjusted to the DCF method and a result of EUR 27 312 940 was obtained. The conclusions and recommendations summarize the main concepts of the literature analysis and the results of the research. The author believes that the DCF assessment cannot be mechanically transferred to the method, the company history, economic forecasts, company manager and expert forecasts need to be taken into account

Definite / indefinite and retrospective / prospective categories as representation of the image of the author in the story titled «Dear Shura» by T. Tolstaya

The article deals with the «image of the author» considered as central semantic category in modern philology. Implicit character of this category in most cases makes interpretation difficult for readers. As central category of art text the «image of the author» interacts with different categories for example definite / indefinite and retrospective / prospective categories. In the story «Dear Shura» by T. Tolstaya definite / indefinite categories typically represented by pronouns on the grammatical level create the «image of the author». The oppositions of definite and indefinite meanings show characteristics’ changings of the «image of the author» significant for the text sense. The retrospective category gives to the reader an opportunity to realize the repetitive semantic conceptual information as the most significant one from the author’s point of view. Perfect productive forms and their oppositions with other verbal forms make different characteristics of the «image of the author». Also adequate interpretation of the analysed art text is possible by prospective category represented by imperative verbal forms. Stylistically marked use of pronouns and verbal forms in the aspect of analysed categories as the identifying factor of the «image of the author» is pointed out.

Abstract Background. The success of sepsis treatment depends on early diagnosis of the generalization of bacterial infection, but the nonspecificity of clinical manifestations often makes the diagnosis delayed. Therefore, the search for highly specific and sensitive biomarkers for early diagnosis of sepsis is relevant. The aim of our research is investigate the laboratory features and diagnostic value of a number of modern biomarkers for the diagnosis of sepsis in children. Materials and methods. of general laboratory studies and determination of CRP level were performed in 115 children with generalized and localized forms of bacterial infections. The main group (47 children) - children with sepsis, a comparison group (68 children) - with a localized bacterial infection of various localization. The age of children was from 1 month. up to 18 years. Grouping was performed according to the presence of signs and symptoms of SIRS and organ dysfunction. Determination of the level of procalcitonin and TNF-α was performed in 31 children of the main group, 45 children in the comparison group and 30 children in the control group (children without signs of inflammation). Prespepsin levels were determined in 16 main group children, 14 in the comparison group and 26 in the control group. Results. During the study, it was found that the level of leukocytosis was much higher and continued 2.6 times longer in the main group than in the children of the comparison group (p <0.01).Anemia was found in 76.6% of the children in the main group, while in the comparator group, the anemia syndrome was diagnosed 3.7 times less frequently. In the study of CRP in the main group, its level reached 44.7 mg / l and 28.3 mg / l in the comparison group, the specificity and sensitivity for diagnosis of sepsis was 46.8% and 51.5% respectively. The mean TNF-α level in children in the main group was 280.3 pg / ml CI 95% [243.9-316.7], which was 1.5 times higher than in children with a localized bacterial process, where the average level of this cytokine was 186.5 pg / ml CI 95% [163.1-209.9], and 4.2 times higher than that of control group children (65.7 pg / ml CI 95% [56.7-74, 8]). The difference between the groups was statistically significant (p <0.01). Sensitivity and specificity were 61 and 81% (for sepsis diagnosis). In the main group of children, the mean PCT level was 4.06 ng / ml CI 95% [3.34-4.69], and in the comparison group - 0.86 ng / ml CI 95% [0.77-1.03] , in the group of control - 0.024 ng / ml CI 95% [0.02-0.03], between the groups the difference was statistically significant (p <0.01). Sensitivity and specificity were 87% and 90%. The level presepsin in the main group was 1887.5 pg / ml (505.5-3702.5 pg / ml); in the comparator group, 313.5 pg / ml (208-376 pg / ml), in healthy children, the level of presepsin was 109 pg / ml (77.5-160 pg / ml). The difference between the groups is statistically significant (p <0,01). The sensitivity and specificity of determination the level of presepsin in children with sepsis is 92% and 93%, respectively. Conclusions 1. In children with sepsis, leukocytosis is more pronounced in comparison with children with localized bacterial infection, but there is no clear regularity between the severity of the septic state and the magnitude of leukocytosis. 2. Anemia is accompanied by septicemia in almost 76,6% of cases, 3. The most sensitive and specific markers for the development of sepsis are procalcitonin and presepsin and for the diagnosis of bacterial infection, the level of serum presepsin is the most specific and sensitive. Key words: sepsis, presepesin, procalcitonin, CRP, childre
