    Language and gender author cohort analysis of e-mail for computer forensics

    Abstract. We describe an investigation of authorship gender and lan-guage background cohort attribution mining from e-mail text documents. We used an extended set of predominantly topic content-free e-mail document features such as style markers, structural characteristics and gender-preferential language features together with a Support Vector Machine learning algorithm. Experiments using a corpus of e-mail doc-uments generated by a large number of authors of both genders gave promising results for both author gender and language background co-hort categorisation.

    Проведено сравнительное изучение анатомо-морфологического строения листа у четырех образцов Monarda × hybrida Hort. Результаты исследований показали, что все образцы по своей природе являются ксеромезофитами. Однако образцы №№ 2, 3, 4 обладают рядом ксероморфных признаков, что приближает их к засухоустойчивому виду M. fistulosa L., а образец № 1 по совокупности признаков ближе к мезофиту M. didyma L.The anatomic-morphological leaf structure of four Monarda × hybrida Hort. models has been comparatively studied. The results of the research have shown that all models are xeromesophytes. But models №№ 2, 3, 4 have a number of xeromorphic features, which makes them close to the drought-resistant M. fistulosa L. species, and the model №1 is close to mesophyte M. didyma L. according to its features

    Spatial navigation deficits - overlooked cognitive marker for preclinical Alzheimer disease?

    Detection of incipient Alzheimer disease (AD) pathophysiology is critical to identify preclinical individuals and target potentially disease-modifying therapies towards them. Current neuroimaging and biomarker research is strongly focused in this direction, with the aim of establishing AD fingerprints to identify individuals at high risk of developing this disease. By contrast, cognitive fingerprints for incipient AD are virtually non-existent as diagnostics and outcomes measures are still focused on episodic memory deficits as the gold standard for AD, despite their low sensitivity and specificity for identifying at-risk individuals. This Review highlights a novel feature of cognitive evaluation for incipient AD by focusing on spatial navigation and orientation deficits, which are increasingly shown to be present in at-risk individuals. Importantly, the navigation system in the brain overlaps substantially with the regions affected by AD in both animal models and humans. Notably, spatial navigation has fewer verbal, cultural and educational biases than current cognitive tests and could enable a more uniform, global approach towards cognitive fingerprints of AD and better cognitive treatment outcome measures in future multicentre trials. The current Review appraises the available evidence for spatial navigation and/or orientation deficits in preclinical, prodromal and confirmed AD and identifies research gaps and future research priorities

    An improvement of the protocol for haploid induction through anther culture of Citrus clementina Hort. ex Tan. cv. Nules was achieved following the evaluation of a number of the factors affecting androgenesis. The influence of thidiazuron (TDZ) and three temperature pre-treatments (4°C, 25°C, 32°C) on the floral buds with respect to anther culture of C. clementina Hort. ex Tan., cv. Nules was investigated. An increased embryoid production was induced in the medium supplemented with TDZ. Pre-treatment temperatures of 4°C and 25°C were more favorable for embryo production than 32°C. Regeneration of androgenic haploid plantlets from cv. SRA 63 of C. clementina is reported here for the first time

    An extensive phytochemical analysis of the polar extracts from bulbs of shallot, Allium ascalonicum Hort., led to the isolation of two new furostanol saponins, named ascalonicoside A1/A2 (1a/1b) and ascalonicoside B (4), respectively, along with compounds 2a and 2b, most likely extraction artifacts. On the basis of an extensive 2D NMR analysis and mass spectrometry data, the structure of the novel compounds were elucidated. This is the first report of furostanol saponins in Mediterranean Allium plants. High concentrations of quercetin, isorhamnetin and their glycosides were also isolated and described
