Araştırmanın örneklem grubunu 2013-2014 eğitim öğretim dönemindeki İstanbul Arel Üniversitesi ve Kocaeli Üniversitesi Meslek Yüksekokulu öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Basit tesadüfî örnekleme yöntemi ile belirlenen 1514 öğrenciye anket uygulanmıştır. İstatistiksel analizlerde t testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi(one-way Anova), Kariyer Planları ve Motivasyon Düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiyi ölçmek amacıyla Korelasyon analizi yapılmıştır.

A user modeling pipeline for studying polarized political events in social media
This paper presents a user modeling pipeline to analyze discussions and opinions shared on social media regarding polarized political events (e.g., public polls). The pipeline follows a four-step methodology. First, social media posts and users metadata are crawled. Second, a filtering mechanism is applied to filter spammers and bot users. As a third step, demographics information is extracted out of the valid users, namely gender, age, ethnicity and location information. Finally, the political polarity of the users with respect to the analyzed event is predicted. In the scope of this work, our proposed pipeline is applied to two referendum scenarios (independence of Catalonia in Spain and autonomy of Lombardy in Italy) in order to assess the performance of the approach with respect to the capability of collecting correct insights on the demographics of social media users and of predicting the poll results based on the opinions shared by the users. Experiments show that the method was effective in predicting the political trends for the Catalonia case, but not for the Lombardy case. Among the various motivations for this, we noticed that in general Twitter was more representative of the users opposing the referendum than the ones in favor.Accepted Author ManuscriptWeb Information System

Process selection for RPA projects with MDCM: The case of Izmir Bakircay University
6th International Conference on Applied Machine Learning and Data Analytics, AMLDA 2023 -- 9 November 2023 through 10 November 2023 -- Lübeck -- 309359Robotic Process Automation (RPA) has emerged as a powerful technology for streamlining business operations by automating repetitive tasks. It is important for public universities as it helps streamline administrative processes, improve operational efficiency, and free up staff resources, allowing the institutions to focus more on delivering quality education and enhancing the overall student experience. However, selecting the right processes for RPA implementation poses a challenge due to the multitude of criteria involved. To address this issue, this paper proposes a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approach for RPA process selection. The objective of this research is to develop a systematic methodology that enables decision-makers to evaluate and prioritize RPA processes based on multiple criteria, such as process complexity, ROI, and strategic importance. The proposed methodology incorporates two MCDM techniques, including the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS), to assist decision-makers in effectively assessing and ranking alternative RPA processes. AHP helps determine the relative weights of criteria, while TOPSIS ranks alternatives based on their similarity to an ideal solution. A case study was conducted to validate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology. Empirical results showed that “Campus Event Management” is the most suitable alternative for RPA implementation, followed by “Campus Facility Management” and “Library Management”. In the study, sensitivity analysis was also performed by changing the weight values given for three different experts. The findings of this research contribute to the field of RPA process selection by providing a structured framework that facilitates the evaluation and prioritization of RPA processes. The proposed methodology empowers organizations to maximize the benefits of RPA implementation by selecting processes that align with strategic goals, enhance operational efficiency, and optimize resource utilization. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024

Effect of simulated brazing on the microstructure and corrosion behavior of twin roll cast AA3003
Aluminum alloy (AA) 3003 is widely used as fin and tube material in heat exchangers. In these heat exchangers, the tube and fin material are brazed together by means of an AA4xxx alloy. In this study, the effect of a simulated brazing step on the microstructure and corrosion behavior of a twin roll casted (TRC) AA3003 was studied. In particular, the effect of simulated brazing on the corrosion properties of the centre line segregation (CLS) of alloying elements and the interaction of the intermetallic particles with the surrounding matrix is explored. It is shown that the cross sections are significantly more active than the surface of the TRC AA3003, revealing the importance of the CLS on the corrosion behavior. Furthermore, it is shown that the number of pits and their depths decreased considerably on the exposed cross sections after simulated brazing, especially near the CLS. Scanning Kelvin probe force microscopy measurements show that after the simulated brazing step the Volta potential difference between the intermetallic particles and the matrix reduced significantly. This change in the Volta potential could be caused by the slight increase of Si content in the matrix.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository 'You share, we take care!' - Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.(OLD) MSE-
Design of dimensionally stable composites using efficient global optimization method
Dimensionally stable material design is an important issue for space structures such as space laser communication systems, telescopes, and satellites. Suitably designed composite materials for this purpose can meet the functional and structural requirements. In this paper, it is aimed to design the dimensionally stable laminated composites by using efficient global optimization method. For this purpose, the composite plate optimization problems have been solved for high stiffness and low coefficients of thermal and moisture expansion. Some of the results based on efficient global optimization solution have been verified by genetic algorithm, simulated annealing, and generalized pattern search solutions from the previous studies. The proposed optimization algorithm is also validated experimentally. After completing the design and optimization process, failure analysis of the optimized composites has been performed based on Tsai-Hill, Tsai-Wu, Hoffman, and Hashin-Rotem criteria.Scientific Research Project Division of Izmir Katip Celebi University [2013-2-FMBP-51]The author(s) disclosed receipt of the following financial support for the research, authorship, and/or publication of this article: This work was supported by Scientific Research Project Division of Izmir Katip Celebi University (grant number 2013-2-FMBP-51)
