Discussion of reading on writing in a public space, transcript from a possible live situation at Five Years, May 11, 2015, 2 pm
How to Write: Reading Groups (published Image Book)
How to Read: Writing Groups (published Text Book)
Collaboration with Five Years Publications: Public Series No.7
The Reading Group is a curated by Dagmar I. Glausnitzer-Smith Live Performance Reading Group with Participants: Anniken Weber, Sikarnt Skoolisariyaporn, Sadegh Aleahmad
Part 1: How to write: The reading group, : Three Artists, Anniken Weber (Norway-UK), Sadegh Aleahmad, (Iran-UK), Sikarnt Skoolisariyaporn (Thailand-UK) will examine the idea of reading about writing in a live situation over the time span of the allocated two hours. The artists may not collaborate or interact with each other however they occupy the space as three separate entities. Prior to their appearance in the space, they are not aware of the content or concept of each other’s work. The margins and formats of their ‘reading’ will be set as a time frame agreed on location amongst the three artists. Discussions will be initiated by an unpredictable common denominator
Part II: How to Read: Writing Groups
The mentioned artists will issue three an un-prescribed reports, open format, functioning as the base for the text of how to read: ‘writing about reading’ transcribed by artist, Dagmar I. Glausnitzer-Smith (Germany – UK)
The objective is to examine multiple, simultaneous states of mind brought into notional thinking processes (projected, imagined, read) on the account of the action of the reading group. The writer is the reader of ‘writing’, the reader of images and documentation, the reader of states of mind. The writer is translator.
Positions are altered, ‘slipping’ into a ‘Doppelbesetzung’*. The writer examines the irrelevance of narrative. The acknowledgment of emotional states during the action of writing and reading cannot be ignored. The operation and the making of text is reclusive and solitary. When momentary reading and reflection of writing happens, it is undisclosed.
The writing of the writer’s text is disposed for ‘publication’.
The speculation of interchanging positions between the artist, the author, the performer, the publisher, the curator expand to non-transparent and non-sensical relations. The writer and performer has to negotiate with signs of a paradoxical ‘Triple-agent’ by modeling a de-coding system.
The performance of writing about the reading is not-public (a Five Year’s Concept and Term) and the moment of active writing addresses an undiscerning audience. A secret portrayal imbedded in a process with a regard to become public.

Derivation of robust predictor variables for modelling urban shrinkage and its effects at different scales
Currently, we observe diverging processes of growth and shrinkage in European Cities. Whereas in the 80ies and 90ies partially accelerated through the crash of the socialist system mostly urban growth and suburban development occurred in European Cities, today we find a general decline of population as well as an increase of aged people (as results of the demographic change in Europe and worldwide, Cloet 2003, Lutz 2001). These processes influence land use pattern (state of the environment) and land use changes in urban areas enormously. Land use pattern reflect the current socio-economic development of an urban area and give an idea of how the urban ecosystem is influenced by man. In doing so, for instance, surface sealing reduces the filtering and remediation capacity of soils and the water retention in general as well as minimises habitat quality for wetland species. At the same time, the ecosystem(s) provide so-called ecosystem services, benefits people obtain from ecosystems: water availability, drinking water, remediation and filtering of waste, places to settle, recreation facilities in nature and others. Their quantification enables to bring the change (availability/loss) of ecosystem services into relation with effective costs (economic sphere, Farber 2002, De Groot et al. 2002). The above mentioned population decline and related shrinkage processes will have enormous consequences on the demand and availability of ecosystem services needed to sustain a high and even increasing status of quality of life for European citizens in the next future. Therefore, the predictor variables describing on the one hand shrinkage-related land use changes and on the other its effects are most important but at the same time it is still a challenge; to extract such predictor variables from a huge catalogue of urban socio-economic and environmental indicators elaborated by many studies for different landscape types and scales; to derive relevant digital and spatially explicit data as model input to calculate the effects of land use (change) and; to validate the model results at the city and the quarter level (scale) as well as to prove the response of the (gained/released) ecosystem service (environmental quality) at the city and at quarter level (closing the circle). Here, the author will give some expressive examples showing the derivation of predictor variables for modelling peri-urban growth and inner city shrinkage as well as its effects on water balance, habitat quality (urban green network) and recreational space. Of major interest is the approach of how to tackle the problem of urban shrinkage in spatially explicit land use (change) modelling (Haase et al. 2004).
Media Image of the Politician Dagmar Buresova in the Czechoslovak Radio
The diploma thesis focuses on the personality of the lawyer and politician Dagmar Buresova. It aims to present the media image of the politician Dagmar Buresova in the Czechoslovak Radio set in the historical and political context of the time. Her political mandate is limited from December 1989 to June 1992. Firstly, she was a Minister of Justice and then a President of the Czech National Council. The empirical part of the thesis examines, with the help of framing analysis, a total of 29 audio recordings from the archive of the Czech Radio in Prague, which are associated with Dagmar Buresova in the context of her active participation in politics. In order to provide a more comprehensive grasp and the possibility of comparing the media images, the author enriched the research part with the analysis of audio recordings from the period outside the active involvement in politics within the Czech Radio until the end of 2022. During this period, the author examined a total of 7 recordings. In addition, for the purposes of this master's thesis, three interviews were also conducted with personalities from various fields, whose answers offer yet another angle on JUDr. Dagmar Buresova.Katedra žurnalistikyDepartment of JournalismFakulta sociálních vědFaculty of Social Science

Mutations of triad determinants changes the substrate alignment at the catalytic center of human ALOX5.
For the specificity of ALOX15 orthologs of different mammals the geometry of the amino acids Phe353, Ile418, Met419 and Ile593 (?triad determinants?) is important and mutagenesis of these residues altered the reaction specificity of these enzymes. Here we expressed wildtype human ALOX5 and its F359W/A424I/N425M/A603I mutant in Sf9 insect cells and characterized the catalytic differences of the two enzyme variants. We found that wildtype ALOX5 converted arachidonic acid mainly to 5(S)-HpETE. In contrast, 15(S)- and 8(S)-H(p)ETE were formed by the mutant enzyme. In addition to arachidonic acid, wildtype ALOX5 accepted EPA as substrate but C18 fatty acids were not oxygenated. The quadruple mutant also accepted linoleic acid, alpha- and gamma-linolenic acid as substrate. Structural analysis of the oxygenation products and kinetic studies with stereospecifically labeled 11(S)- and 11(R)-deutero linoleic acid suggested alternative ways of substrate orientation at the active site. In silico docking studies, molecular dynamics simulations and QM/MM calculations confirmed this hypothesis. These data indicate that ?triad determinant? mutagenesis alters the catalytic properties of ALOX5 abolishing its leukotriene synthase activity but improving its biosynthetic capacity for pro-resolving lipoxins.Fil: Ivanov, Igor.
(DIPF/Orig.)The author repidiates Dagmar Hänsel’s thesis that there exists an irrevokable trinity of special schools, special pedagogics, and the corresponding professions, legitimated by historical continuity. Against the background of the reform debate conducted in special pedagogics since the 1970s, she argues that special pedagogics considers itself to be a scientific partial discipline of pedagogics, that the role of the system of special schools cannot be discussed detached from the general school system, and that a special-pedagogical profession is indispensable, indepensable of the respective locus of learning. The author advocates a fundamental structural change in the school system leading to an acknowledgement and consideration of the heterogeneity of its pupils. (DIPF/Orig.
Design as Part of Marketing Communication
Autorka předává své dosavadní zkušenosti s novými trendy v oblasti designu a marketingové komunikace. Mnohostrannost, složitost a vzájemná interakce těchto činitelů si vyžaduje ucelený systémový přístup. Předmětem řešení bakalářské práce na téma "Design jako součást marketingové komunikace", zpracované pro firmu McGREGOR a její módní produktovou značku DAGMAR G., je řízení a ovlivňování dynamické struktury představované právě proměnlivými vazbami mezi designem a marketingovou komunikací. Požadavek na řešení celého systému a v něm působících interakcí je zvláště důležitý proto, že nesystémovým, mechanistickým přístupem by se tyto důležité vazby logicky rušily .The author benefits her so-far-aquired experience with the advanced trends in design and marketing communication. A complex systematic aproach is required to reflect the complexitity, versatility and interactions ot the mentioned branches. The bachelor's papers deals with its theme of Design as Part of Marketing Communication and focuses on management and the dynamic structure of variable relations beteeen design and marketing comunication. The papers is worked out for the benefit of McGREGOR company, i. e. its fashionable trade mark DAGMAR G. We need to take the systematic approach and see the whole system with its relations outlined above; the reason is to avoid the non- systematic mechanical approach which would seriously interrupt the important relations specified beforehand.Ústav produktového designuobhájen
On 6 April 1945 over 220 political prisoners from the Stein Penitentiary as well as three antifascist prison guards and the prison director were shot by Nazi guards and members of the Volkssturm, the Waffen-SS and the Wehrmacht in order to prevent the release of all prisoners as ordered by the prison management. The same day in Krems an der Donau and its surroundings dozens of inmates were killed with the active participation of the local population (this event became known as the ‚Kremser Hasenjagd‘ – lit. ,Krems hare hunt‘).
ROBERT STREIBELs’ novel April in Stein, a literary exploration of this atrocity committed during the final months of the war, was first published in 2015. After a brief outline of the events that took place in Stein-Krems in April 1945 and their representation in media coverage of the War Crimes Trial before the Austrian People’s Court in August 1946, this paper will discuss how the author approaches this range of complex topics.6 kwietnia 1945 r., w więzieniu Stein nazistowscy nadzorcy, członkowie Waffen-SS, Volkssturmu i Wehrmachtu zastrzelili ponad 220 więźniów (głównie politycznych) a także trzech antyfaszystowskich urzędników sądowych i dyrektora więzienia. Chcieli w ten sposób zapobiec uwolnieniu wszystkich więźniów, zarządzonemu przez kierownictwo zakładu. Kilkudziesięciu kolejnych więźniów – z pomocą okolicznej ludności – zostało zamordowanych w okolicach Krems nad Dunajem (‘̜Polowanie na zające w Krems’).
W roku 2015 ukazało się pierwsze literackie rozliczenie z tą ostatnią fazą zbrodni nazistowskich: powieść ROBERTA STREIBLA April in Stein (Kwiecień w Stein).
