No full textWydział Filologii Polskiej i KlasycznejPraca stanowi zbiór szczegółowych studiów na temat poezji lirycznej Macieja Kazimierza Sarbiewskiego SJ (1595-1640). Ze szczególnym zainteresowaniem przeanalizowano historię powstania różnych utworów, zbiorów i wydań w twórczości poety. Nacisk położono zwłaszcza na ich ocenę krytyczną. W pierwszej części zostały omówione różne przykłady recepcji wierszy Sarbiewskiego. Stanowią one wyjątkowe świadectwo popularności poety i jego twórczości w wiekach XVII i XVIII.
Dowodów na to dostarczają wypisy z jego wierszy znalezione w różnych rękopisach. Utwory Sarbiewskiego wykorzystywano również w sztukach plastycznych w formie inskrypcji. Przykładów naśladownictwa Liryków dostarcza twórczość okolicznościowa poetów minorum gentium. W zakończeniu tej części przedstawiono opinie, jakie wydawano o twórczości poety. Punkt zwrotny w historii pochwał Sarbiewskiego odegrała krytyka kardynała Angela Marii Duriniego (1725–1796). Paradoksalnie przyczyniła się ona do jeszcze większego i pogłębionego zainteresowania poetą i jego wierszami, szczególnie w środowisku polskim. Druga część pracy została poświęcona ocenie krytycznotekstowej poszczególnych wierszy i całego zbioru Liryków. Przeanalizowane zostały poszczególne wydania. Autentyczność niektórych spośród nich została podana w wątpliwość. W przypadku pozostałych szczegółowo omówiono ich zawartość. Różne przykłady wariantów tekstowych ilustrują problemy związane z transmisją tekstu wierszy. W większości przypadków czynnikiem decydującym o zmianach tekstowych były błędy drukarskie. Historia wydań Liryków to także losy edycji, które nigdy się nie ukazały. Wzmianki w prasie lub w przedmowach innych wydań są jedynymi świadectwami niezrealizowanych planów. Ostatnia część pracy dotyczy znaczenia zbiorów poetyckich w twórczości Sarbiewskiego. Pochodzące z nich wiersze stanowiły trzon editio princeps Liryków. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono zbiorom powstałym w okresie pobytu poety w Rzymie (1622-1625). W tym czasie na poetę silnie oddziaływało środowisko twórcze Collegium Romanum. Wiele jego utworów powstało w związku z konkretnymi wydarzeniami życia szkoły. W tej części omówione zostały również losy ód pośmiertnych.
The book is a collection of detailed studies on the lyrical poetry of Maciej Kazimierz Sarbiewski SJ (1595-1640). The history of the creation of various works, collections and editions in the poet's oeuvre has been analysed with particular interest. Emphasis has been placed especially on their critical evaluation. The first part discusses various examples of the reception of Sarbiewski's poems. These provide exceptional testimony to the popularity of the poet and his work in the 17th and 18th centuries. Evidence of this is provided by extracts from his poems found in various manuscripts. Sarbiewski's poems were also used in the visual arts in the form of inscriptions. Examples of imitations of the Lyricorum libri are provided by the occasional works of poets minorum gentium. This section concludes with the opinions that were given about the poet's work. A turning point in the history of Sarbiewski's praise was the criticism of Cardinal Angelo Maria Durini (1725-1796). Paradoxically, it contributed to an even greater and deeper interest in the poet and his poems, especially in Polish circles. The second part of the work was devoted to a critical-text evaluation of individual poems and the entire collection of Lyricorum libri. Individual editions have been analysed. The authenticity of some of them has been questioned. For others, their contents have been discussed in detail. Various examples of textual variants illustrate the problems associated with the transmission of the text of the poems. In most cases, printing errors were a factor in the textual changes. The history of editions of the Lyricorum libri also includes the fate of editions that never appeared. Mentions in the press or in the prefaces of other editions are the only testimonies of unrealised plans. The final part of the dissertation concerns the importance of poetic collections in Sarbiewski's oeuvre. Poems derived from them formed the core of the editio princeps of the Lyricorum libri. Particular attention was paid to the collections written during the poet's stay in Rome (1622-1625). During this period, the poet was strongly influenced by the creative milieu of the Collegium Romanum. Many of his works were written in connection with specific events in the life of the school. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. No full textWe have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
