Optimized aquarium care monitoring system / Hafiz Hazlan
In today's world, many people are interested in taking care of aquatic life as a hobby. There are also those who are interested in aquatic life because it can generate a decent income. A common problem in taking care of this aquatic life is to provide an optimal environment for their aquatic life. So, to constantly do a water quality tests manually to monitor the water quality will take a lot of time. To solve this issues, Optimized Aquarium Care Monitoring System has been developed using hardware such as a Temperature sensor, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) sensor, pH sensor, and Nodemcu ESP8266. Software like Arduino IDE, Proteus 8, and Tinkercad also being used to develop this project. This device is design to test the water quality for freshwater fish by measuring pH, temperature, and turbidity. This device enables quick and efficient water quality assessment, assisting both hobbyists and fish farmers. Additionally, this device can connect to the Blynk App, it allows the users to monitor water quality remotely via a smartphone or directly on the Blynk website thereby eliminating the need for manual testing. Ultimately, this innovation offers a significant time-saving solution for the user

iQuit- smoking cessation community care portal / Nur Hidayah Nor Hazlan
In the 20th century, tobacco was killing 100 million people worldwide, many more than all deaths combined during World War I and World War II (Eriksen et al., 2015). Smoking is a major cause of cancer and the top preventable cause of death. Most of the tobacco smokers (68%) want to stop smoking completely (Babb, 2017). The reason why people cannot stop smoking is because of limited information at that time. Some of the respondents stated that they do not know how to find a solution and guidance to quit smoking. This project aims to develop a smoking cessation community care portal to help people quit smoking. The scope of this project is for people who are seeking help to quit smoking and find a good community to communicate and sharing information with others. The platform that will be used in this project is a Web-based application. The methodology that this community portal used is Web Development Life Cycle. Five WDLC phases allow the entire design process which is Planning, Analysis, Design and development, testing, and implementation and planning but this project will only focusing until the fourth phase. The significance of this project is helping a smoker to easily find a consultant or guidance to quit smoking. It also helps to onboard new community members by providing an online forum in the community portal. Besides, this app also helps the smoker to save the cost and energy to find the nearest consultant. In conclusion, the iQuit community portal may assist the smoker to help them quit smoking
The impacts of revised shari'ah screening methodology on stock market return: evidence from trading services sector / Nur Ain Hazlan
The shariah screening process was first introduced on 1995 and had been practiced until now. This process is undertaken by the Shariah Advisory Council (SAC). Recently on June 2012 the Security commission had announced the revision of shariah screening methodology and was implemented on November 2013. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to investigate the impact of revised shari'ah screening methodology on stock market returns of 100 trading or services companies that are listed on shariah-compliance securities. This study aims to see whether the revised shari'ah screening methodology will impact the stock market performance before and after it were implement by using daily stock price and shari'ah index for 60 days before and 60 days after to calculate the abnormal return and using a matched pair test to measure the before and after comparison
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Thermal comfort in colonial and modern school buildings / Syed Hazlan Izham Syid Abdullah
This research is to measure the comfort level at colonial and modern schools in Klang Valley area. Three schools were selected for each type. Colonial schools were represented by Victoria Institution, St. John Institution and Methodist Boys School. For the modern type schools, they are represented by Sekolah Agama Menengah Bestari Jais USJ 5, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan USJ 4 and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seafield. The thermal comfort level measurement is carried out using the Comfy Meter instrument and all the result will be calculated by Comfy Meter software and presented in table and graph forms in NEC laptop computer. Then, all the data are transferred into more compact form as can be seen in Chapter 6. In achieving the objectives of this study, both internal and external aspect for each school are takerrinto accountTThe comfort level instrument measured internal comfort level (all fans are being switched off) and then the results are analysed with consideration of surrounding area of the schools. The final result showed that the St. John Institution is the best and the most comfort to study followed by Sekolah Agama Menengah Bestari Jais and the-Methodist Boys School is in the last position. St. John Institution has an average of Predicted Mean Vote (PMV) rating 1.2, which is slightly warm that gives Predicted Percentage of Dissatisfied (PPD) 35 percent while Methodist Boys School has an average of PMV rating 2.2, which is warm that gives PPD 81 percent
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases.
