A Glimpse into the Scholarly Works of Sheikh Muhammad Hayat Sindhi
Sindh is considered to be the first region of the subcontinent where the light of Islam illuminated the land.This region has produced numerous scholars who gained renown throughout the Islamic world. Among these luminaries was Sheikh Muhammad Hayat bin Ibrahim Sindhi (d. 1163 A.H.), a prominent Islamic scholar, jurist, and prolific author affiliated with the Hanafi School of jurisprudence. Sheikh Hayat Sindhi was celebrated as one of the leading experts in Hadith, jurisprudence, and various other Islamic disciplines, including Islamic literature. Born in Sindh, Sheikh Hayat Sindhi received his early education from his father. He later traveled to Thatta, where he studied under renowned scholars such as Muhammad MoinThattavi. Seeking advanced knowledge in Islamic disciplines, he migrated to theHaramainSharifain, andeventually settled in Madinah.There he began teaching at Masjid al-Nabawi and dedicated himself to teaching hadith for 24 years. Sheikh Hayat Sindhi authored numerous books on diverse topics related to Islamic studies and the social issues facing Muslim societies. His works, renowned among Islamic scholars, are imbued with wisdom, etiquette, and ethical values derived from the Qur’an, Hadith, jurisprudential insights of eminent scholars, and intellectual reasoning. This study provides a concise biography of Sheikh Hayat Sindhi and examines his contributions across various fields of Islamic knowledge. URDU-AN OVERVIEW ON THE LITERARY CONTRIBUTIONS OF SHEIKH MUHAMMAD HAYAT SINDHI
No doubt, Sindh has received a distinctive position as the first land in the sub-continent, where the light of Islam spread all over. The region of Sindh has produced many Muslim scholars who were famous all around the Islamic world. One of them was Sheikh Muhammad Hayat Sindhi (d. 1163 A.H). He was one of the most distinguished Islamic scholars, jurists, and prolific authors of the Hanafī School of jurisprudence from Sindh. He was widely regarded as one of the foremost experts of Hadīth and jurisprudential studies, as well as other religious disciplines including Islamic literature. Sheikh Hayat Sindhi was born in Sindh, He acquired basic early education from his father, and after that, he went to Thatta and received education from Muhammad Moin Thattavi and other renowned scholars of Thatta. Then he migrated to Harmain Shareef for higher education in Islamic disciplines. He chose to live in Madinah and started teaching at Masjid e Nabvi. He continued teaching of Hadith for 24 years in Masjid Nabvi at Madinah. He wrote many books on various topics of Islamic studies and the social problems of Muslim society. His books are well known and important amongst Islamic scholars, His books are rich with wisdom, etiquette and ethical values that have been abstracted and retrieved from the Holy Qur’an, Hadiths and jurisprudential approaches of prominent scholars and intellectual evidence. This study focuses on the brief biography of Sheikh Hayat Sindhi and his work in various fields of Islamic knowledge. This study is also undertaken in response to the deep sense of admiration and appreciation for the books of Sheikh Hayat Sindhi.
A critical analysis of Christian responses to Islamic claims about the work of the Prophet Muhammad, ‘the Messenger of God’.
The aims of this study are to analyse critically the different Christian responses to the Islamic understanding of the work of Muhammad. Chapter one consists a short introduction leading to an appraisal of Muhammad which incorporates historical, hagiographal and Quranic source material, and in the light of relevant Christian and Muslim scholarship. The second chapter presents a summary critical analysis of Muhammad in Christian theological perspective, from 661 A.D. to modern times. Chapter three presents a critique of Christian responses to the Muslim allegations that the text of the Bible has been infected with corruption; and that Muhammad's advent and status are foretold in the unadulterated' scriptures, and in the Gospel of Barnabas. Chapter four examines the theological significance of the work of Muhammad for Christians. Thus, Jesus and Muhammad are critically assessed and contrasted in order to ascertain the importance, for Christians, of the Muslim claims in respect of Muhammad as ’the messenger of God’. Chapter five provides a critical evaluation of the various Christian responses to Muhammad. It is argued that many of the said responses have been entangled in myths and misperceptions which have severely distorted the true account of Muhammad's work. Consequently, many Christians have failed to appreciate the divine legitimacy of Muhammad's call to prophethood. Further, it is argued that Christians should accept that Muhammad is a genuine prophet, and the messenger of God. However, Muhammad's use of the power-structure in order to maintain Islam is in sharp contrast to Jesus’ decision to face the consequences of his ministry passively through faith in God. Accordingly, orthodox Christian belief in the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus provides another dimension to prophethood, where the messenger and the message become one, an identification which finds no parallel in Islam, and which, in the nature of the case, cannot find a parallel
Response of piezoelectric materials on thermomechanical shocking and electrical shocking for aerospace applications
Piezoelectric materials are widely used as smart structure in various aerospace applications as they can generate voltage, store charge and drive microelectronics directly because of its ability to sense, actuate and harvest energy. It is a well known phenomenon in terms of the linear electromechanical interaction between mechanical and electrical state. It is actively used in aerospace structural health monitoring, due to the high stiffness and drive capacity depending on the voltage, widespread mechanical properties and their interactions. In this research work Barium Titanate (BaTiO3) is shocked by variable mechanical loading under different thermal and electrical shocking conditions for behavior analysis. A test rig is constructed on the basis of equivalent circuit method to perform experimentation. The relationship between electrical shocking in terms of frequency and peak to peak voltage at variable thermo-mechanical shocking conditions has been developed and analyzed. The variable frequency shocking represented one of the most important parameter to characterize and design the piezoelectric material, especially when it relates to design of intelligent structures for aerospace industry. Effect of thermo mechanical loading, frequency and resistance to peak to peak voltage is predicted experimentally and numerically. Abaqus is used for numerical simulations. Numerical model constructed for BaTiO3 in this research predicts the actual behavior for voltage generation with accuracy of 10%
Do hotel employees really care for corporate social responsibility (CSR): a happiness approach to employee innovativeness
This study explores hotel employees’ perceived corporate social responsibility (CSR) within the proposed conceptual model under the umbrella of self-determination and needs satisfaction theory. The model examines dichotomous perceived CSR relationships–instrumental and volunteer CSR–with employees’ basic needs satisfaction, self-esteem, hedonic and eudemonic happiness, and innovativeness. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was applied to examines the assumed hypotheses. The results established that hotel employees perceived instrumental CSR has a significant positive influence on the satisfaction of their basic needs, and perceived volunteer CSR impact employees’ self-esteem. Employees’ basic needs satisfaction demonstrated a significant positive influence on their hedonic happiness and self-esteem on eudemonic happiness. Both hedonic and eudemonic happiness contribute significantly to employee innovativeness, where, eudemonic happiness contribution is higher than hedonic happiness. The findings expand the literature on CSR by providing a better understanding of the core mechanism through which CSR can influence hotel employees’ happiness, where, a happy employee is a key to innovativeness, competitiveness, and better organizational performance
Genetic variation in zona pellucida-3 (ZP3) gene and its association with litter size variation in Kari sheep
Variation in litter size (LS) in sheep is linked to genetic factors, including the Zona pellucida-3 (ZP3) gene, which plays a role in ovine reproductive processes. This study examined the association between ZP3 gene variations and LS in Kari sheep. Two groups of 160 Kari ewes were analysed: one consistently producing singletons and another producing twins, with occasional triplets. Additionally, Madakhlasht sheep, which sometimes produce twins, and Balkhi sheep, which produce only singletons, were used as references. The entire ZP3 gene was amplified using PCR and sequenced at 30× with Next Generation Sequencing. Bioinformatics analysis identified 70 variants across the three breeds, located in upstream regions, introns, and exons. Notably, two point mutations and a six-nucleotide insertion were found upstream of the initiation codon in twin-producing Kari ewes, potentially affecting ZP3 expression and LS. Two missense mutations (I101L in exon 1 and R408H in exon 8) were heterozygous in twin-producing Kari ewes but homozygous in other groups, correlating with LS. Protein modelling suggested that the I101L mutation alters the binding site, potentially impacting protein function. These findings indicate that ZP3 gene variations influence reproductive efficiency and LS in sheep, with specific variants serving as potential markers for selective breeding to enhance LS
