Spatial distribution of water quality in relation to phytoplankton abundance of Selat Tuba, Langkawi / Hasmida Muhamad
Phytoplankton is a microscopic marine alga that is mostly buoyant and floats in the upper part of the water body. Despite its size, it plays a vital role in sustaining the biological clock of marine life by serving as one of the primary providers of food and oxygen. However, their abundance greatly depends on the water quality of their habitat. The structure of the phytoplankton population changes in response to changes in water quality and other regulatory factors, which may or may not have an impact on the animal community and may result in a general loss of biodiversity, including a decline in fish production. Thus, this study aims to assess the water quality parameters (WQP) at Selat Tuba River by i) evaluating the spatial interpolation (IDW and Kriging models) for WQP estimation, ii) establishing a correlation between WQP and phytoplankton abundance, and iii) establishing regression equations for phytoplankton abundance. The WQPs involved are salinity, dissolved oxygen, Secchi disc depth, temperature (temp), and pH. The WQP and phytoplankton abundance were collected by in-situ sampling and assessed by laboratory experiments. The in-situ water samplings consist of 113 points and about 36 points for phytoplankton that were collected in December 2020 and December 2021. For the laboratory experiment, each individual phytoplankton was calculated in every 1 ml of water, and the total phytoplankton abundance was calculated in ind/mg3 units. To reduce uncertainty errors in the WQP, a Monte Carlo uncertainty analysis has been conducted. Spatial interpolation (IDW and Kriging models) was applied and tested; 70% and 30% of the water sampling data were used for model development and verification, respectively. The root means square error (RMSE) and mean absolute error (MAE) are applied to measure the goodness of fit of the regression equation for WQP estimation. The study found that pH and DO have the strongest correlation (0.948), while salinity and temperature have the lowest correlation (0.368). The IDW provides more robust models to estimate DO, pH, and temperature, with RMSE values of 0.517, 0.084, and 0.450, respectively. The optimal regression model for phytoplankton abundance estimation has an RMSE of 11.451 and an R2 of 0.3740. This study contributes to establishing the final regressions that can be employed to estimate water quality and phytoplankton abundance at the mangrove area as well as support the fishing industry's economy. Overall, the relationship between each WQP and phytoplankton had been established, the IDW interpolation model is proven to serve a more stable model compared to Kriging, and lastly the regressions for WQP and phytoplankton estimation has been established
Study on concentration effects of MEH-PPV for organic solar cells application / Hasmida Muda @Noruddin
The concentration effect of Poly[2-methoxy-5-(2'-ethyl-hexyloxy)-l,4-phenylene vinylene] or known as MEH-PPV for organic solar cells application was investigated. MEH-PPV thin film has been prepared on substrates by spin-coating method with different concentration of solutionfrom lOmg/ml to 50mg/mlat room temperature with 2000rpm speed. MEH-PPV powders with different weightwere dissolved in tetrahydrofiiran (THF) for 48 hours. The electrical properties were characterized using 2-point probe, while optical properties were obtained using UV-Visible-NIR (UVVIS-NIR). Besides for surface morphologies of the films were observed using FESEM, and thickness using surface profiler.The UV-vis spectra showed a transmittance peak at 500-600nm. The transmittance peaks reduce from 85T%-20T% as the concentration increased.From the IV measurement the result shows, at thickness 115.56nm gives the highest photoconductivity with value l^xlO^ncm)"1. The layer of MEH-PPV thin film increased as the concentration of MEH-PPV increases
An interaction of anxiety experience, coaching effectiveness and coach-athlete relationship in individual and team sport / Hasmida Kamis
Sports coaches play an important role in developed training tasks, sport-specific physical development, psychological, tactical and technical abilities required to perform or play in the competition. On the other hand, anxiety of one athlete may exists as they feel nervous and fear of something that come to frustration of selfconfidence and felt guilty of the unsuccessful result. Anxiety may increase or decrease based on the specific situation of the athletes. Considering the important role of the coach in determining the quality and success of an athlete's experience, there is little research that identifies coaching effectiveness and coach-athlete relationship influence the athletes' anxiety in sports performance. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate an interaction of anxiety experience, coaching effectiveness and coach-athlete relationship in individual and team sport. This quantitative study used an online survey as it was distributed to the 206 selected athletes (n indlvldual = 102, n team = 104; Male =112, Female = 94) through filtered by inclusion and exclusion criteria. Coaching Effectiveness Scale (CES), Coach-Athlete Relationship-Questionnaire (CART-Q) and Competitive State Anxiety Inventory-2 (CSAI-2) were used as instruments of this study. The data was normally distributed by obtaining the normality graphically through a normal Q-Q Plot chart (SPSS) which provides a visual representation of the distribution of the data. Correlation (individual sports) revealed that the dimensions of coaching effectiveness showed moderate to a strong positive correlation, For the dimensions of the coach-athlete relationship, the result display moderate to a strong positive correlation. For, all of the components of anxiety exhibited a weak and negative correlation between cognitive anxiety and selfconfidence, and somatic anxiety and self-confidence showed a weak and negative correlation. Whereas, for (team sports) results demonstrated moderate to a strong positive correlation between all of the dimensions of coaching effectiveness, The relationship between the dimensions of coach-athlete relationship also showed moderate to a strong positive correlation, however, factors of anxiety showed a weak and positive correlation between cognitive anxiety and self-confidence. In comparison analysis between (team and individual sports), motivation, game strategy, technique and character-building (coaching effectiveness) were found to have no significant difference. Whilst, closeness, commitment and complementarity (Coach-Athlete Relationship) between individual and team sport were found to have a significant difference. Next, cognitive anxiety was found to have no significant difference whilst, somatic anxiety and self-confidence between individual and team sport were found to have a significant difference. Comparison between genders (male and female) exhibited that motivation, game strategy, technique and character building were found to have no significant difference. However, closeness, commitment and complementarity were found to have a significant difference. Cognitive anxiety, somatic anxiety and Self-confidence were found to have a significant difference. Coaching effectiveness and coach-athlete relationship were important factors in affecting the anxiety of the athlete in sports. Coaching effectiveness and coach-athlete relationship were suggested to be applied positively between coaches and athletes in sport especially approaches athletes' anxiety experience
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Determination of a cell tower site location to be established in Perlis by using spatial analyst / Hasmida Muhamad
The advent of wireless networking is changing our lives drastically. Mobile telecommunications emerged as a technical breakthrough enabling access to personal and other resources, computers, computing, and connectivity, through effortless plug-in and play, at any location and at any time. The development of wireless mobile networks also requires transmission availability, collection of routing systems, and the best site for cells towers. This research aims to determine the best cell tower site by using Geographic Information System (GIS) spatial analyst as a tool. The application of the distribution could be achieved by applying the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) to the picture of the region that has to be covered by three other parameters which is the location of existing tower, road network and towns. This research applied the technique of spatial association rules on the parameters to select the best location for the cell tower placement. From that the plan would attempt to reduce the number of towers built, make the position of the tower feasible, and provide maximum coverage of the area. The result of this study is a weighted map that shows five different suitability for a new cell towers sites around the study area. This map can be used by any Telecommunication company in Malaysia such as Celcom, Digi, Maxis and etc to locate the most suitable location for a new telecommunication tower
The development of culturally responsive pedagogy in traditional crafts ceramic for secondary school / Noor Hasmida Mohd Khair
This research urged to integrate a multicultural education into Visual Art Education curriculum because of its limit especially in craft component which focus only on Malay handcraft and certain ethnical group. Thus, this study aimed to develop a Culturally Responsive Pedagogy In Traditional Crafts Ceramic For Secondary School to promote a module that developed by Siti Zuraida Maaruf (2014). It will include each element from Malays, Chinese and Indian culture and use a Developmental Research Design that consists of three phase. In Phase 1: Analysis Need, it involves a collective data from semi structure interview done by 5 lecturers that well-experienced in designing ceramic material. In Phase 2: Design and Development, Two Round Delphi Technique done by 10 panelist of experts to recognize the suggestion of instructional material in each races. Researcher has chosen technique component and teaching method, technique equipment and teaching material and also the activity component from the module developed by Siti Zuraida Maaruf (2014). Research development of this module consists of Text module, Interactive Power Point Presentation and Daily Lesson Plan for VAE teachers. In Phase 3: Implementation and Evaluation, is the final process where the data valued from semi structure interview based on teachers perspective and students experience. Based on the findings shown that implementation of the module is relevant. Student can learn excitingly about other culture, gain unity and harmony. It is hoped to have a culturally responsive pedagogy module in traditional ceramic crafts for secondary school that include ceramic from Sabah and Sarawak
