Evaluating the usability of emergency fund target web system among young adults / Izzatie Zakaria and Nor Azzyati Hashim
Get PDFYoung adults need to know the importance of having a good financial management to prevent the engagement in extensive debt. One of the ways is by having saving for emergency fund. Emergency fund is vital as it can be used during any unwanted events such as job loss, health emergency and other unexpected expenses. Most existing web systems for personal financial management are more towards budgeting and tracking expenditures. Thus, to encourage people especially young adults to build emergency fund, a web system called Emergency Fund Target (EFT) was developed. This paper investigates the ease-of-use and benefits of EFT web system among young adults. Evaluation for this web system using usability testing involved 15 young adults who already being employed. From the findings, it is discovered that EFT system is easy to use and enables users to learn about emergency fund in order to use the system to keep track their saving for emergency fund. For the future works of EFT, the web system will enhance to advice users who has completed the emergency fund saving on moving into investment for short, medium and long term financial goals

Get PDFData modelling is a tough topic for students to learn in database courses or database related courses. The use of multimedia courseware with student-centred learning capability can help to enhance students learning and improve achievement on the subject matter. Accordingly, the objective of this paper is to evaluate the effectiveness of using multimedia courseware as a supplemental tool to enhance students learning in data modelling concepts among Bachelor of Information Technology students at Universiti Teknologi MARA, Perlis Branch. To achieve this objective, multimedia courseware was developed with three main sections: pre-test, tutorial and post-test. The courseware then tested on 20 students that have previously learned about data modelling. From the findings, it is discovered that the students’ post-test marks increased after learning using the tutorial courseware when compared with their pre-test marks. The finding results also showed a significant statistical difference between pre-test and post-test marks after using the tutorial. These findings indicate that the students have made significant improvement after learning with the multimedia courseware. As a conclusion, the multimedia courseware indeed can be effective to be used as a supplemental learning tool to enhance students learning and achievement in data modelling concepts thus, overcome the limitations of teacher- centred learning in a classroom environment
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Get PDFThe exposure of personal finance literacy among youth has started to get further attention worldwide on account of economic instability and rising cost of living. Knowing about personal finance as early as possible becomes important because being fit in money management is one of the factors that lead for better lifestyle and early financial freedom. A web-based system in a university setting is expected to help university students take advantage of this opportunity. This paper investigates the benefits of a web system called e-Personal Finance (e-PF) for bachelor degree students in Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Perlis Branch. e-PF is composed of three main sections; Financial Test, Budget Planner and Finance Calculator. Evaluation for this web system using usability testing involved 50 bachelor degree students from seven faculties and two finance lecturers cooperated to give their expert point of view and opinion. From the findings, it is discovered that e-PF can help students to improve their knowledge and attitude about personal finance. As a conclusion, e-Personal Finance is found to be relevant in becoming one of education medium to assist university students in personal finance literacy, planning and management

(B2B e-marketplaces) has influenced the way businesses are conducted. The
emergence of many types of e-marketplaces together with the increase use of
e-marketplaces allows many organizations to become e-market makers in the
electronic commerce environment. Nonetheless, too many B2B e-marketplaces
could become a challenge with e-marketplaces have shown numerous successes
and failures since early existence. With this background, this pap er discusses
the characteristics and success factors of B2B e-marketplaces offered in
Malaysia. A content analysis ofe-marketplace websites using the integrated
model from the Extended Model of Internet Commerce Adoption (eMICA) and
the Internet-Based B2B Stages of Growth enabled an examination of type,
ownership, B2B features and B2B stages of growth. A few e-marketplaces
were then selected as case studies to identify the success factors based on the
Framework of the Critical Success Factors Analysis fo r E-Marketplaces.
Overall, Malaysia B2B public e-marketplaces have shown positive growth
development stages across time with high adoption of e-commerce website
features. In addition,factors of strategic, functional, technology, build liquidity, create value and others were also essential for t e success of the e-marketplaces.

Get PDF'An Interactive Information Exchange in Academic Faculty' is presented as a preliminary study for developing an interactive information exchange hub at the Faculty of Information Technology & Quantitative Sciences (FTMSK), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam, Selangor. The first objective of this research is to analyze the interaction pattern of information exchange between and within the student, lecturer and administrative community in FTMSK. Three major communication mediums - Short Messages Services (SMS), web applications and notice boards are identified as important communication mediums that are used for exchanging information in the faculty. In analyzing the interaction pattern of information exchange in the faculty, survey is done with 327 questionnaires are collected. Other than that, interviews are conducted and observations are performed. Results and findings from the surveys are needed to fulfill the second objective of this research. The second objective is to design a framework for an interactive information exchange hub as a platform to facilitate information exchange between communication mediums at the faculty. The framework that is developed is able to provide an interactive information exchange that acts as a hub where all the communities in the faculty can communicate and exchange information between them regardless of what are the types of communication mediums being used by senders and receivers of the message
