    Indonesia is nicknamed a megadiversity country for its rich fauna. Faunal diversity is the main asset in utilizing fauna. One way to find out data on fauna diversity is by taking an inventory. This research aims to determine the level of diversity and explore fauna in the campus area which can then be developed into teaching materials for students based on local wisdom. The research was conducted at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Gunung Kelua campus, Mulawarman University, Samarinda. The research was conducted for 2 months, March-June 2023. Data collection techniques in the field used descriptive explorative methods. Based on the research carried out, results were obtained from 46 species from various classes. namely insects, arachnids, mammals, gastropods, crustaceans, Aves, Pisces, reptiles and amphibians. In the insect class, the most can be found in the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Gunung Kelua area, with a total of 25 species, that is, the diversity level reaches 2.00 in the medium category. Arachinida 5 species with a low level of diversity because it is only 0.40. Mammals and reptiles have the same level of diversity, which is both low with a diversity value of only 0.08 with 1 species found. Meanwhile, gastropods and pieces have a low level of diversity because the diversity value is 0.24, and 3 species were found. Two species of crustaceans were found, the diversity value was 0.16 so it was categorized as low. Likewise, aves are categorized as low, because only 4 species were found with a diversity value of only 0.32. Meanwhile, the Amphibian class with only 2 species found was categorized as low with a value of 0.16

    DISPERSION OF SO2 AND NO2 EMITTED BY AUXILIARY BOILER OF PT KMI METHANOL INDUSTRIAL USING THE GAUSSIAN PLUM MODEL AERMOD IN BONTANG CITY EAST KALIMANTAN INDONESIA

    The petrochemical industry PT Kaltim Methanol Industri Bontang City, uses auxiliary boilers with natural gas fuel and is connected to the stack to emit pollutants into the atmosphere. The objectives of this study are SO2 modeling with a radius of 5 kilometers and modeling of NO2 with a radius of 10 kilometers from the emission source. Modeling using AERMOD software, AERMET Software, and Aermap ArcGIS Software.  The wind rose in the dominant research area from the southwest and northeast directions. Dispersion of SO2 and NO2 decreases according to the distance. The increase in concentration occurred in areas that experienced elevation increases, in Teluk Pandan District with a distance of about 10 kilometers northwest with an elevation of about 100 meters above sea level, and part of the West Bontang District with a distance of about 5 kilometers to the southwest with an elevation of about 90 meters above sea level. The maximum concentration of SO2 at the receptor was 6.2631 μg/m3 on hourly modeling, 0.58132 μg/m3 on modeling per 24 hours, and 0.0317 μg/m3 on annual modeling. The maximum NO2 concentration at the receptor was 1.96781 μg/m3 on hourly modeling, 0.18089 μg/m3 on hourly modeling, and 0.01002 μg/m3 on annual modeling. The distribution of pollutants based on hourly modeling per 24 hours is spreading in all directions and irregularly while for annual modeling it tends to spread towards the southwest and northeast according to the wind rose.Keywords: AERMOD, Emissions, Modeling, Air Dispersion, Auxiliary boiler

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Limbah cair industri tahu mengandung padatan tersuspensi atau lauratan yang mengalami perubahan fisik, kimia, dan biologi, serta akan menghasilkan zat beracun bahkan bisa membuat media pertumbuhyan untuk kuman. dan dapat menyebabkan gatal, diare, sampai mual apabila dimanfaatkan oleh manusia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan mikrobact dan Efective Microorganisme-4 (EM4) terhadap kualitas kadar BOD, amoniak dan pH pada limbah cair industri tahu. Jenis penelitain yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen laboratorium. Pengumpulan data didapat dari hasil pemeriksaan BOD, pH, serta amoniak limbah cair tahu yang diberi perlakuan dengan penambahan EM-4 dan microbact 100, 200 ml dengan limbah sebanyak 1 liter. dengan lama fermentasi yang berbeda - beda yaitu lama fermentasi 7, 14, 21 hari. Penelitian dilakukan selama 4 bulan, bulan Januari-April 2023. Yang dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Kualitas Air, Fakultas Perikanan dan kelautan, Universitas Mulawarman. : Konsentrasi larutan yang paling optimal guna menurunkan kadar BOD pada limbah cair tahu adalah P2 (200 ml Larutan effective Microorganisme-4), Konsentrasi larutan yang paling optimal guna menurunkan kadar amoniak pada limbha cair tahu adalah P4 (200 ml Microbat), Konsentrasi optimal parameter pH di perlakuan 2 dengan penggunaan larutan effective Microorganisme-4 (EM4) sebanyak 200 ml. Penambahan larutan effective Microorganisme-4 (EM4) dan microbact terhadap kadar BOD, amoniak, dan pH pada limbah cair industri tahu berpengaruh, dapat dilihat dari adanya penerunan nilai kadar limbah masing masing parameter

    Staphylococcus aureus adalah bakteri yang secara medis penting yang sering ditemukan pada kulit atau permukaan hidung. Bakteri ini dapat menyebabkan berbagai infeksi, dari yang ringan hingga yang berat, dan berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan angka kematian. Untuk mengatasi infeksi ini, antibiotik yang mampu menghambat atau menghilangkan bakteri ini sangat penting. Tanaman lokal, yang sering digunakan sebagai tanaman hias dan obat, merupakan sumber potensial antibiotik tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas ekstrak metanol daun kenikir (Cosmos caudatus Kunth.) dalam menghambat pertumbuhan S. aureus. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain eksperimental laboratorium dengan enam perlakuan: empat konsentrasi ekstrak (100%, 75%, 50%, dan 25%), kloramfenikol sebagai kontrol positif, dan metanol sebagai kontrol negatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi ekstrak metanol 75% menghasilkan zona hambat rata-rata sebesar 5,6 mm yang dikategorikan lemah. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun kenikir menunjukkan beberapa efek penghambatan terhadap pertumbuhan S. aureus ATCC 25923. Namun, kemanjurannya yang lemah menyoroti perlunya eksplorasi lebih lanjut untuk meningkatkan potensinya sebagai agen antibakteri. Penelitian ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya mengevaluasi tanaman lokal untuk khasiat obat mereka untuk mengembangkan pengobatan alternatif untuk infeksi bakteri

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods
