No full textPrevious studies demonstrated that induction of diabetes with streptozotocin (stz) accelerated atherosclerosis in hyperlipidemic apo E null (-/-) mice. Blockade of the Receptor for Advanced Glycation Endproducts (RAGE) in those animals suppressed acceleration of atherosclerotic lesion area, in a manner independent of changes in levels of glucose, insulin or lipids. In the present studies, we extended these concepts to a murine model of type 2 diabetes, and bred apo E -/- mice into the db/db background. Db/db mice are a model of obesity and insulin resistance-mediated hyperglycemia. Compared to apo E -/- m/db (non-diabetic) mice, apo E -/- db/db (diabetic) mice displayed accelerated atherosclerosis at the aortic sinus. Consistent with an important role for RAGE in this process, administration of soluble (s) RAGE, the extracellular ligand-binding domain of RAGE, resulted in significantly reduced atherosclerotic lesion area in a glycemia- and lipid-independent manner. In parallel, apo E -/- db/db mice displayed RAGE-dependent enhanced expression of Vascular Cell Adhesion Molecule-1, tissue factor and matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-9 antigen/activity in aortae compared to non-diabetic animals. In addition, consistent with the premise that upregulation of RAGE ligands and RAGE occurs even in the non-diabetic, hyperlipidemic state, albeit to lesser degrees than in diabetes, administration of sRAGE to apo E -/- m/db mice resulted in decreased atherosclerotic lesion area at the aortic sinus. Taken together, these findings establish a new murine model for the study of atherosclerosis in type 2 diabetes and highlight important roles for RAGE in proatherogenic mechanisms in hyperglycemia triggered by insulin resistance
NILAI PENDIDIKAN SENI PADA PERTUNJUKAN WAYANG GOLEK GIRI HARJA KABUPATEN BANDUNG
No full textThis study discusses the Giri Harja hermitage in wayang golek in West Java. The selection of the Giri Harja wayang golek to be studied is very important because it has a role and function in art education in the village of Jelekong, West Java. This study aims to analyze the role and function of art education in the Giri Harja wayang golek art performance. Using qualitative methods with a descriptive analysis approach, researchers can describe, describe, explain and answer the problems to be studied in more detail. The object of observation was carried out in the wayang village, Giri Harja Jelekong, Baleendah sub-district, Bandung Regency. As a result, the wayang golek show, a cultural heritage considered antique and almost ignored, still has the essence of educational, cultural, and moral values and good life. Because apart from being a spectacle, the puppet show is also a guide. In Jelekong, the people are still trying to instill character education values among their citizens, namely by having a hermitage and an institution as a place to accommodate people’s interest in the world of wayang and puppetry. With scheduled routine training, exhibitions, and other artistic activities aimed at maintaining the preservation of the art of wayang golek and strengthening noble values.

Penelitian ini membahas padepokan Giri Harja dalam wayang golek di Jawa Barat. Pemilihan wayanag golek Giri Harja untuk dikaji sangat penting karena memiliki peran dan fungsi pendidikan seni di desa Jelekong, Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran dan fungsi pendidikan seni dalam pertunjukan seni wayang golek Giri Harja. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif analisis, peneliti bisa menggambarkan, melukiskan, menjelaskan dan menjawab secara lebih rinci permasalahan yang akan diteliti. Objek observasi dilakukan di kampung wayang, Giri Harja Jelekong, kecamatan Baleendah, kabupaten Bandung. Hasilnya, pertunjukan wayang golek yang merupakan warisan budaya yang dianggap antik dan hampir tidak di hiraukan lagi, ternyata masih tetap memiliki esensi nilai-nilai pendidikan, budaya, moral kehidupan dan kebaikan. Karena selain merupakan tontonan, pertunjukan wayang golek juga merupakan tuntunan. Di Jelekong, masyarakatnya tetap dalam upaya penanaman nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter terhadap warga masyarakatnya yaitu dengan memiliki padepokan dan lembaga sebagai wadah untuk menampung minat masyarakat dalam dunia pewayangan dan pedalangan. Dengan adanya latihan rutin yang telah terjadwal, pameran-pameran dan kegiatan-kegiatan kesenian lainnnya yang ditujukan untuk mempertahankan kelestarian seni wayang golek serta penguatan nilai-nilai luhur.

ANALISIS USAHATANI PISANG KEPOK DI DESA BANGUN HARJA KECAMATAN SERUYAN HILIR TIMUR KABUPATEN SERUYAN
No full textThis study aims: (1) to find out how kepok banana farming performance; and (2) analyzing the income of kepok banana farming in Bangun Harja Village, East Seruyan Hilir Subdistrict, Seruyan District. The research location was chosen purposively with the population of banana farmers in Bangun Harja Village, East Seruyan Hilir Subdistrict, Seruyan District and the samples taken were 66 people using the simple random sampling method. The types of data used in this study include primary and secondary data. The results showed that the characteristics of kepok banana farming in Bangun Harja Village, East Seruyan Hilir Subdistrict, Seruyan District were a) land characteristics, b) kepok banana farming tools, c) production facilities and d) kepok banana production. The calculation results show that the size of the income of kepok banana farming is influenced by the amount of production and production costs. And it is known that the average amount of revenue is Rp. 46,304,734, which is greater than the amount spent, which is Rp. 3,098,969 and the average income received in a year is Rp. 43,110,516. The profit value or R/C Ratio in a year count of 14.9 means that the kepok banana farming in Bangun Harja Village, East Seruyan Hilir Subdistrict, Seruyan District is profitable, because the R/C Ratio value is greater than 1
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. STRATEGI PEMASARAN DI IKM ROTI BANGKIT HARJA YOGYAKARTA
No full textIndustri kecil menengah disingkat IKM merupakan salah satu badan usaha yang jumlahnya banyak di Indonesia. Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta merupakan salah satu provinsi yang memiliki jumlah IKM yang banyak, dan yang paling menonjol adalah IKM pangan. Salah satu IKM pangan berada di DIY adalah IKM Roti Bangkit Harja. Permasalahan yang dihadapai IKM ini yaitu banyaknya roti yang tidak laku dan akhirnya basi. Penyebab roti tidak laku karena penjualannya semakin menurun, kemudian penyebab penjualannya menurun semakin banyak kompetitor baru yang memproduksi produk sejenis dengan kualitas yang baik serta varian rasa lebih menarik, sehingga IKM ini kalah bersaing.
Permasalahan yang dihadapi IKM Roti Bangkit Harja akan diselesaikan dengan cara merancang strategi pemasaran yang sesuai untuk IKM ini. Strategi pemasaran akan disusun dengan berdasarkan hasil dari riset pemasaran, dan konsep penyusunannya menggunakan konsep marketing mix (product, price, promotion, and place). Riset pemasaran menggunakan kuesioner untuk merekap setiap respon yang diberikan oleh masyarakat. Hasil penyebaran kuesioner akan dioleh dengan menggunakan dua aplikasi yaitu Ms.Excel dan SPSS, kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode Importance Peformance Analysis, Pie Chart dengan Similaritas dan Trend, dan Analisis Regresi Linier Berganda.
Hasil yang dicapai dari penelitian yang dilakukan yaitu mendapatkan informasi mengenai target konsumen dan rancangan strategi pemasaran dengan konsep marketing mix. Strategi pemasarannya yaitu mempertahankan produk roti saat ini dan membuat produk roti versi premium dengan kualitas yang lebih baik dan varian rasa menarik. Harga produk roti lama (Rp1.000 dan Rp2.000) dipertahankan dan menentukan harga produk roti versi premium pada kisaran Rp3.000-Rp5.999. Promosi roti berupa price pack, kemudian dipublikasikan ke berbagai sosial media. Lokasi produk roti versi lama sebaiknya diperluas ke berbagai warung, sedangkan produk versi premiumnya didistribusikan ke warung dan minimarket. Early growth response-1 promotes atherogenesis: mice deficient in early growth response-1 and apolipoprotein E display decreased atherosclerosis and vascular inflammation
No full textEarly growth response-1 (Egr-1) regulates expression of proinflammatory and procoagulant genes in acute cell stress. Experimental evidence suggested that Egr-1 transcripts were upregulated in human atherosclerotic plaques versus adjacent unaffected tissue. To test the impact of Egr-1 in chronic vascular stress, we examined its role in a murine model of atherosclerosis. Real-time PCR analysis of aortae retrieved from apoE-/- mice demonstrated increased Egr-1 transcripts in an age-dependent manner, compared with aortae retrieved from C57BL/6 control animals. Therefore, homozygous Egr-1 -/- mice were bred into the apoE-/- background. Homozygous double-knockout mice (Egr-1-/-/ apoE-/-) in the C57BL/6 background were maintained on normal chow diet. At age 14 and 24 weeks, atherosclerotic lesion area and complexity at the aortic root were strikingly decreased in mice deficient in both Egr-1 and apoE compared with mice deficient in apoE alone. In parallel, transcripts for genes regulating the inflammatory/prothrombotic response were diminished in Egr-1 -/-/apoE-/- aortae versus apoE-/-. In vitro, oxidized low-density lipoprotein (OxLDL), a key factor inciting atherogenic mechanisms in the vasculature, upregulated Egr-1 expression in monocytes via the MEK-ERK1/2 pathway. We conclude that Egr-1 broadly regulates expression of molecules critically linked to atherogenesis and lesion progression
