The Localization of Ak and Kok Horde
The author addresses the issue of the correlation of the names Ak and Kok Horde with the western and eastern wings of Ulus Dzhuchi. The paper provides a historiography of the issue over the last 20 years. In addition, the work of 20th century scientists is also used. The main information about the Ak and Kok Horde in the sources is analysed. The author's interpretation of the significance of the dedicatory inscription in the Khosrow and Shirin poem is provided. The issue of the relationship between the terms Ak Horde and Golden Horde is addressed. As a result, the author concludes that in the works of G.A. Fedorov-Davydov and V.V. Trepavlov the errors of medieval sources were overcome, and the localization of the Ak and Kok Horde and the secondary division of the ulus into wings were suggested with substantiation. The available sources suggest that the Russian chronicles and a number of Oriental authors create a unified picture in understanding this issue, while the use of the Chingiz-nama does not correlate with earlier sources. On the basis of a detailed study of Tinibek's history, it is concluded that he was not the ruler of Sygnak and, therefore, his kingdom was the western ulus with its centre in Saray. This use of the term Ak Horde in the poem does not contradict the accepted version of Ak and Kok Horde’s localisation. As for the issue of the relationship between the terms ‘Golden’ and ‘White’ Horde, a number of modern studies allow for the identification of these concepts
Dynamics of Network Formation Processes in the Co-Author Model
This article studies the dynamics in the formation processes of a mutual consent network in game theory setting: the Co-Author Model. In this article, a limited observation is applied and analytical results are derived. Then, 2 parameters are varied: the number of individuals in the network and the initial probability of the links in the network in its initial state. A simulation result shows a finding that is consistent with an analytical result for a state of equilibrium while it also shows different possible equilibria.Dynamics, Network, Game Theory, Model,Simulation, Equilibrium, Complexity

O’odham Language Planning and Policy in the Ak-Chin Indian Community
abstract: The Ak-Chin Indian Community is a small community in southern Arizona comprised of roughly one thousand O’odham. The indigenous language of Ak-Chin is the ’O’odham ñeo’okĭ, O’odham language, however in recent decades the number of speakers of this language have begun to sharply decline. Due to a variety of sociological factors in interacting with the dominant colonial society, the people of Ak-Chin have begun a shift toward the predominant use of English in daily affairs. The goal of this thesis is to investigate the societal factors that have led to the decline of the O’odham language in Ak-Chin and to examine language policy and planning principles and practices which may serve as examples for the Ak-Chin community to re-establish a strong connection to their heritage language.Dissertation/ThesisMasters Thesis American Indian Studies 201

PECO was a proposed algorithm with good performance in Protein Folding Problem. The objective of this paper is perform experiments to improve the performance of PECO using FP-AK-QIEA-ℝ to initialize PECO. After plotting the best of ever, a meaningful change on the convergence is observed showing the modification of the convergence and after plotting the number of habitats is noticed a reduction of the number of habitats. In conclusion, adding FP-AK-QIEA-R solution improves the performance of PECO.Consejo Nacional de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación Tecnológica - Concyte
Enchanted by the AK-47: contingency of body and the weapon among Hezbollah militants
The constant presence of various forms and makes of firearm has turned it into an everyday item among some Lebanese. For Hezbollah militants, the AK-47 is an object of humour and fun despite its lethal potential. The weapon is saturated with representative qualities – both material and semiotic, so the author explores its materiality as a crucial nodal point from which to sketch the difficult terrain of subject–object relationship in the life of Lebanese Shi’i Hezbollah militants. He seeks to identify the material culture of a weapon that consolidates myths, reifies identities, stages propaganda and advertises threats. With this in view, the author follows the AK-47 to explore its ‘enchanting’ qualities and speak of the relationship it forms with a militant’s body. He locates the body of militants between three questions: what does the AK-47 signify, how does it arrive at that signification, and finally, how have its materiality and dynamic physicality made it the weapon of choice?

'My dreams are shuttered down and it hurts lots'-a qualitative study of palliative care needs and their management by HIV outpatient services in Kenya and Uganda.
BACKGROUND: Despite the huge burden of HIV in sub-Saharan Africa, there is little evidence of the multidimensional needs of patients with HIV infection to inform the person-centred care across physical, psychological, social and spiritual domains stipulated in policy guidance. We aimed to describe the problems experienced by people with HIV in Kenya and Uganda and the management of these problems by HIV outpatient services. METHODS: Local researchers conducted in depth qualitative interviews with HIV patients, caregivers and service staff at 12 HIV outpatient facilities (6 in Kenya, 6 in Uganda). Interview data were analysed thematically. RESULTS: 189 people were interviewed (83 patients, 47 caregivers, 59 staff). The impact of pain and symptoms and their causes (HIV, comorbidities, treatment side-effects) were described. Staff reported that effective pain relief was not always available, particularly in Kenya. Psychosocial distress (isolation, loneliness, worry) was exacerbated by stigma and poverty, and detrimentally affected adherence. Illness led to despair and hopelessness. Provision of counselling was reported, but spiritual support appeared to be less common. Neither pain nor psychosocial problems were routinely reported to service staff. Collaboration with local hospices and income-generation activities for patients were highlighted as useful. CONCLUSIONS: The findings demonstrate the multiple and interrelated problems associated with living with HIV and how psychosocial and spiritual distress can contribute to 'total pain' in this population. In line with the palliative care approach, HIV care requires holistic care and assessment that take into account psychological, socioeconomic and spiritual distress alongside improved access to pain-relieving drugs, including opioids
