An Overview of Consumer Complaining Behavior and the Choice of Complaint Channels in Service Industry
Link to publisher's homepage at http://ijbt.unimap.edu.myIn extensive view of consumers’ complaint behavior research area,
choosing specific complaint channels has been considered as a
phenomenon. Although, existing literatures explored much on the
consumption behavior of products and services, exploring on the choice
of complaint channels still in infancy level. Moreover, investigation of
channel-choice for complaining is not done extensively. This study
provides a brief overview on complaint responses and classifications of
consumer complaining behavior (CCB). Consequently, a suitable
classification of complaint reactions with regard to complaint channels
is discussed in details. The researchers suggested three aspects which
are vital for service providers in order to retain existing consumers and
seek for new consumers and acquire positive word of mouth; (1) the
service providers required to encourage consumers to make complains
(2) complaint channels should be easily accessible for consumers and (3)
existence of smooth complaint handling process. The development of this
extensive literature review, suggestions and conceptualization would be
helpful for researchers while they aim for further empirical investigation
of consumers complaining behavior and complaint channels
Jabatan Kerja Raya Daerah Segamat, Johor / Fatin Hamimi Saiful Amri
This report is set oul to give the reader full information about my industrial training in Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) Segamat, Johor.
Industrial taining is one ef the compulsory curriculums in Universiti Teknologi MARA Cawangan Johor Kampus Pasir Gudang which students need to complete whether in consultant, construction or Government Company. This course is sets up for student in order to give them experience and gain knowledge in working environment
before going through the real working life. My industrial training is at Jabatan Kerja Raya or known as JKR which provide maintenance and construction to the public sectors in Malaysia. In Jabatan Kerja Raya, I have been send to Facilities Department and Road Department. At this
branched, I have been assigned to a lot of site project such as repairing works, installation works, regulate and resurface road works. To sum up, I had learnt on the road treatment, sequences and method to repair the road which is the CIPR treatment. During my placement, I have
learned a lot new knowledge about road maintenance and safety. These knowledge are useful for me in future and gives me a lot of advantageous to prepare myself for my future career. Last but not least, in this report included the introduction, brief background about this company, task, recommendations and conclusion in details
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Effectiveness of horse therapy towards behaviour changes of autism children / Noor Hamimi Kamaruddin
The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of horse therapy towards the changes of behaviour of autism children. This study was guided by the following research objectives: (i) to identify the level of autism severity of the respondents, (ii) to identify the behaviour of the autism children before and after horse therapy, and (iii) to examine the effectiveness of horse therapy towards the behaviour of autism children. Thirty children aged four to eleven years with autism who registered under two horse riding club were recommended by Ministry of Education for this horse therapy program. This study used pre-post Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist (ATEC) questionnaire which was answered by the parents of the autism children. The questionnaires were distributed on the first session of the five weekly sessions of the therapy. The behaviour of the autism was assessed on three different subscales: (i) speech/language, (ii) sociability and (iii) health/physical behaviour. The findings revealed that majority of the respondents (53.3%) were having moderate level of severity. Meanwhile for the health/physical behaviour component, revealed to be the highest (M=3.44, SD=0.14) before the horse therapy. After the therapy, speech component ranked the highest (M=3.44, SD=0.24) compared to the sociability and health/physical behaviour component. Results of this study showed significant improvement in their behaviour, (t) 29= 16.89, p= 0.001. Therefore, the parents perceived the improvements were due to the horse therapy treatment received. Based on these findings, horse therapy can be one of the effective treatments for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in term of changing their behaviour
