Virtual Reality supported Visualization and Evaluation of Noise Levels in Manufacturing Environments
Virtual Reality (VR) provides users advanced visualization and interaction technology for designing, analyzing and exploring complex data. To address the issue of noise in manufacturing environments, we developed a VR-supported method allowing users to explore noise behavior. This method consists of an implementation of acoustic simulation and visualization for both desktop and Cave Automatic Virtual Environment (CAVE) based VR systems. It enables user-oriented, interactive analysis of simulated data, where there capability to immerse oneself in the data is especially valuable. In a real-world factory, the acoustic measurements obtained essential input data for simulation settings and validation data for simulation results. Furthermore, some political and legal aspects are addressed to enhance the evaluation of results and the visualization. By using the implemented software tool, users are able to understand and investigate the noise issue in manufacturing straightforwardly

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Nonlinear corrections to the cosmological matter power spectrum and scale-dependent galaxy bias: implications for parameter estimation
We explore and compare the performances of two nonlinear correction and scale-dependent biasing models for the extraction of cosmological information from galaxy power spectrum data, especially in the context of beyond-LCDM cosmologies. The first model is the well known Q model, first applied in the analysis of 2dFGRS data. The second, the P model, is inspired by the halo model, in which nonlinear evolution and scale-dependent biasing are encapsulated in a single non-Poisson shot noise term. We find that while both models perform equally well in providing adequate correction for a range of galaxy clustering data in standard LCDM cosmology and in extensions with massive neutrinos, the Q model can give unphysical results in cosmologies containing a subdominant free-streaming dark matter whose temperature depends on the particle mass, e.g., relic thermal axions, unless a suitable prior is imposed on the correction parameter. This last case also exposes the danger of analytic marginalisation, a technique sometimes used in the marginalisation of nuisance parameters. In contrast, the P model suffers no undesirable effects, and is the recommended nonlinear correction model also because of its physical transparency

The Theological Work of Jan Valerián Jirsík
Anglická anotace The theological work of Jan Valerian Jirsík Jan Hamberger This thesis deals with the theological work of the Czech 19th century author Jan Valerián Jirsík (1798-1883). Its first part consists of an introduction into the Czech historical context of the 19th century and the life of the author. Its second part presents a survey of the literary-theological work of Jirsík in three life phases: the first phase is demarked by his activity as chaplain and vicar, the second phase by his editorial activity for Casopis pro katolické duchovenstvo (trans. Magazine for catholic clergy) and the last phase by his pontifical years in the diocese of Southern Bohemia. His literary work is divided by theme into various periods, shortly described and characterized. The last and major section of this thesis deals with the most comprehensive and renown work of Jan Valerián Jirsík - Populární dogmatika (trans. Popular doctrine). This pivotal work of theologian Jirsík is discussed at large and analyzed by tractate, both apologetic and dogmatic. Inflation and WMAP three year data: Features are still present
The new 3 year WMAP data seem to confirm the presence of nonstandard large scale features in the cosmic microwave anisotropy power spectrum. While these features may hint at uncorrected experimental systematics, it is also possible to generate, in a cosmological way, oscillations on large angular scales by introducing a sharp step in the inflaton potential. Using current cosmological data, we derive constraints on the position, magnitude and gradient of a possible step. We show that a step in the inflaton potential, while strongly constrained by current data, is still allowed and may provide an interesting explanation to the currently measured deviations from the standard featureless spectrum. Moreover, we show that inflationary oscillations in the primordial power spectrum can significantly bias parameter estimates from standard ruler methods involving measurements of baryon oscillations
